2 Corintios 10

1 Ahora yo, Pablo, les pido por el comportamiento apacible y gentil de Cristo, que soy pobre de espíritu cuando estoy con ustedes, pero que les digo lo que tengo en mente a ustedes sin temor cuando estoy lejos de ustedes.

Now I Paul myself exhort you, by the meekness and lenity of Christ, who in presence am lowly among you,

2 Sí, les ruego que, cuando esté con ustedes, no tenga que utilizar la autoridad que pueda necesitar contra aquellos a quienes piensan de nosotros que andamos según la carne.

but being absent am bold towards you, yea I intreat you, that I may not be bold, when I am present, with that confidence, wherewith I think to proceed against some, who censure us as walking after the flesh.

3 Porque aunque vivamos en la carne, no luchamos según la carne:

For though we are in the flesh, we do not carry on our war according to the flesh:

4 Porque las armas con las cuales estamos peleando no son las de la carne, sino que son poderosas en Dios para la destrucción de fortalezas;

(for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the demolishing of bulwarks: )

5 Poner fin a los razonamientos y a toda altivez que se levanta contra el conocimiento de Dios, y hacer que todo pensamiento caiga bajo la autoridad de Cristo;

destroying false reasonings, and every height that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and captivating every thought to the obedience of Christ.

6 Estar listo para castigar cualquier cosa que esté en contra de su autoridad, después de haber dejado en claro que estás completamente bajo su control.

And being prepared to avenge all disobedience, since your obedience is fulfilled.

7 Ustedes solo se fijan en las apariencias? Si algún hombre parece ser de Cristo, tenga en cuenta que somos tanto nosotros de Cristo como lo es él.

Do ye look at things according to the outward appearance? If any one is confident in himself that he is Christ's, let him consider this again of himself, that as he is Christ's, so we also are Christ's.

8 Porque si bien me enorgullezco un poco más de nuestra autoridad (que el Señor nos dio para edificación y no para la destrucción), no me avergonzaré;

For though I should boast yet more of our authority, (which the Lord hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction) I should not be ashamed:

9 Para que no parezca que los quiero asustar con mis cartas.

that I may not seem as if I would terrify you by letters;

10 Porque sus cartas, dicen, son duras y fuertes; pero en persona es débil no impresiona a nadie en su manera de hablar.

for his letters, say they, are weighty and powerful, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.

11 Dejen que aquellos que dicen esto tengan en cuenta que, lo que somos en palabra por letra cuando estamos ausentes, también lo haremos en acto cuando estemos presentes.

But let such a one know this, that as we are in word by letters, when absent, such also shall we be in fact when present.

12 Porque no haremos una comparación de nosotros mismos con algunos de los que dicen cosas buenas de sí mismos; pero estos, midiéndose por sí mismos y haciendo comparaciones consigo mismos, no son sabios.

For we presume not to number, or compare ourselves with some who recommend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are void of understanding.

13 No nos gloriaremos en demasiada medida, sino según la medida de la regla que Dios nos ha dado, Dios es quien señala los límites de nuestro campo de trabajo, una medida que los alcanzará incluso a ustedes.

But we will not glory of things beyond our bounds, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath given to us, a measure to come even unto you.

14 Porque no tenemos necesidad de hacernos parecer más de lo que somos, como si fuera el caso si no hubiéramos estado antes con ustedes, porque nosotros fuimos los primeros que vinimos traerles a ustedes las buenas nuevas de Cristo:

For we do not stretch ourselves beyond measure, as though we were not commissioned to come unto you; for we have reached even to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ.

15 No tomamos crédito para nosotros mismos por lo que no es nuestro trabajo, es decir, para el trabajo de otros; pero con la esperanza de que, con el crecimiento de su fe, podamos obtener el mérito de un aumento que es el efecto de nuestro trabajo,

Not boasting of things beyond our limits in other men's labors; but having hope that, when your faith is increased, we shall be abundantly enlarged by you according to our line,

16 Para que podamos continuar y llevar las buenas nuevas a países aún más lejanos de donde ustedes están, y no atribuirnos el trabajo de otro hombre, para no jactarnos de las obras que otros han hecho.

to preach the gospel in places beyond you; and not to boast in another's province of things ready prepared for us.

17 Pero el que tiene un deseo de gloria, que su gloria sea en el Señor.

But let him, that glorieth, glory in the Lord.

18 Porque la aprobación del Señor para un hombre no depende de su opinión de sí mismo, Sino de la opinión que el Señor tiene de él.

For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but he whom the Lord commendeth.
