2 Crónicas 28
1 Acaz tenía veinte años cuando comenzó a reinar, y estuvo gobernando en Jerusalén durante dieciséis años; no hizo lo que era correcto a los ojos del Señor, como David su padre:
A son of twenty years [is] Ahaz in his reigning, and sixteen years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and he hath not done that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah, as David his father,
2 Pero él siguió los caminos de los reyes de Israel e hizo imágenes de metal fundido para los baales.
and walketh in the ways of the kings of Israel, and also, molten images hath made for Baalim,
3 Más que esto, hizo quemar las ofrendas en el valle de Ben-Hinom, e hizo que sus hijos pasaran por el fuego, copiando los asquerosos caminos de las naciones que el Señor había arrojado de la tierra de delante de los hijos de Israel.
and himself hath made perfume in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burneth his sons with fire according to the abominations of the nations that Jehovah dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel,
4 E hizo ofrendas e hizo quemar incienso en los lugares altos y en las colinas y debajo de cada árbol verde.
and sacrificeth and maketh perfume in high places, and on the heights, and under every green tree.
5 Y el SEÑOR su Dios lo entregó en manos del rey de Siria; y lo vencieron, y se llevaron a gran parte de su pueblo como prisioneros a Damasco. Luego fue entregado en manos del rey de Israel, quien le envió una gran destrucción.
And Jehovah his God giveth him into the hand of the king of Aram, and they smite him, and take captive from him a great captivity, and bring [them] in to Damascus, and also into the hand of the king of Israel he hath been given, and he smiteth him — a great smiting.
6 Porque Peka, hijo de Remalías, en un día mató a ciento veinte mil hombres de Judá, todos ellos hombres de buena lucha; porque habían abandonado al Señor, al Dios de sus padres.
And Pekah son of Remaliah slayeth in Judah a hundred and twenty thousand in one day (the whole [are] sons of valour), because of their forsaking Jehovah, God of their fathers.
7 Y Zicri, un gran guerrero de Efraín, mató a Maasias, el hijo del rey, y a Azricam, el contralor de su casa, y a Elcana, que era el segundo en autoridad para el rey.
And Zichri, a mighty one of Ephraim, slayeth Maaseiah son of the king, and Azrikam leader of the house, and Elkanah second to the king.
8 Los hijos de Israel se llevaron prisioneros de sus hermanos, doscientas mil mujeres, hijos e hijas, y una gran cantidad de sus bienes, y los llevaron a Samaria.
And the sons of Israel take captive of their brethren, two hundred thousand, wives, sons and daughters, and also much spoil they have seized from them, and they bring in the spoil to Samaria.
9 Pero un profeta del Señor estaba allí, llamado Oded; Salió al frente del ejército que venía a Samaria y les dijo: En verdad, porque el Señor, el Dios de tus padres, se enojó con Judá, los entregó en tus manos, y ustedes los pusieron a muerte en un arrebato de ira que se extiende hasta el cielo.
And there hath been there a prophet of Jehovah (Oded [is] his name), and he goeth out before the host that hath come in to Samaria, and saith to them, 'Lo, in the fury of Jehovah God of your fathers against Judah, He hath given them into your hand, and ye slay among them in rage — unto the heavens it hath come;
10 Y ahora, tu propósito es mantener a los hijos de Judá y Jerusalén como siervas y siervas bajo tu yugo: ¿pero no hay pecados contra el Señor tu Dios entre ustedes?
and now, sons of Judah and Jerusalem ye are saying to subdue for men-servants and for maid-servants to you; but are there not with you causes of guilt before Jehovah your God?
11 Ahora escúchame, y envía de vuelta a los prisioneros que has tomado de tus hermanos, porque la ira del Señor está ardiendo contra ti.
and now, hear me, and send back the captives whom ye have taken captive of your brethren, for the heat of the anger of Jehovah [is] upon you.'
12 Entonces algunos de los jefes de los hijos de Efraín, Azarías, hijo de Johanan, Berequías, el hijo de Mesilemot; Ezequías, el hijo de Salum, y Amasa, el hijo de Adlai, se pusieron contra los que venían de la guerra.
And certain of the heads of the sons of Ephraim (Azariah son of Johanan, Berechiah son of Meshillemoth, and Jehizkiah son of Shallum, and Amasa son of Hadlai), rise up against those coming in from the host,
13 Y les dijo: No traigan aquí a estos prisioneros; porque lo que tu planeas hacer será una causa de pecado contra el Señor para nosotros, haciendo aún más grande nuestro pecado y nuestra maldad, que ahora son lo suficientemente grandes, y su ira está ardiendo contra Israel.
and say to them, 'Ye do not bring in the captives hither, for, to guilt against Jehovah on us, ye are saying to add unto our sin and unto our guilt? for abundant [is] the guilt we have, and the fierceness of anger on Israel.'
14 Entonces los hombres armados entregaron a los prisioneros y los bienes que habían llevado a los jefes y a la reunión de la gente.
And the armed men leave the captives and the prey before the heads and all the assembly;
15 Y los hombres que fueron nombrados subieron y tomaron a los prisioneros, vistiendo a los que estaban desnudos, con cosas de los bienes que habían sido tomados en la guerra, y poniéndoles ropas y zapatos en los pies; y les dieron comida, bebida y curaron sus heridas con aceite para sus cuerpos, y sentando a todos los débiles entre ellos en asnos, los llevaron a Jericó, a la ciudad de las palmeras, a su gente, y luego regresaron a Samaria.
and the men who have been expressed by name rise and take hold on the captives, and all their naked ones they have clothed from the spoil, yea, they clothe them, and shoe them, and cause them to eat and drink, and anoint them, and lead them on asses, even every feeble one, and bring them in to Jericho, the city of palms, near their brethren, and turn back to Samaria.
16 En ese tiempo, el rey Acaz envió una embajada para pedir ayuda al rey de Asiria.
At that time hath king Ahaz sent unto the king of Asshur to give help to him;
17 Porque los edomitas habían venido otra vez, y habían derrotado a Judá y llevando algunos prisioneros.
and again the Edomites have come, and smite in Judah, and take captive a captivity.
18 Los filisteos, invadieron las ciudades de las tierras bajas y el sur de Judá, habían tomado a Bet-semes, Ajalón, Gederot y a Soco, con sus respectivas aldeas, así como a Timna y a Gimzo y su respectivas aldeas, y estaban viviendo allí.
And the Philistines have rushed against the cities of the low country, and of the south of Judah, and capture Beth-Shemesh, and Aijalon, and Gederoth, and Shocho and its villages, and Timnah and its villages, and Gimzo and its villages, and dwell there,
19 Él Señor humilló Judá a causa de Acaz, rey de Israel; porque había promovido el desenfreno en Judá, pecando grandemente contra el Señor.
for Jehovah hath humbled Judah because of Ahaz king of Israel, for he made free with Judah, even to commit a trespass against Jehovah.
20 Entonces Tiglat-pileser, rey de Asiria, vino a él, pero era causa de problemas y no de fuerza para él.
And Tilgath-Pilneser king of Asshur cometh in unto him, and doth distress him, and hath not strengthened him,
21 Porque Acaz tomó parte de las riquezas de la casa del Señor y de la casa del rey y de los grandes hombres, y se la dio al rey de Asiria; Pero no le sirvió de nada.
though Ahaz hath taken a portion [out] of the house of Jehovah, and [out] of the house of the king, and of the princes, and giveth to the king of Asshur, yet it is no help to him.
22 Y a pesar de su problema, este mismo rey Acaz hizo aún más mal contra el Señor.
And in the time of his distress — he addeth to trespass against Jehovah, (this king Ahaz),
23 Porque hizo ofrendas a los dioses de Damasco, quienes lo estaban atacando, y dijo: Debido a que los dioses de los reyes de Siria les están ayudando, les haré ofrendas para que puedan ayudarme. Pero fueron la causa de su caída y de la de todo Israel.
and he sacrificeth to the gods of Damascus — those smiting him, and saith, 'Because the gods of the kings of Aram are helping them, to them I sacrifice, and they help me,' and they have been to him to cause him to stumble, and to all Israel.
24 Y Acaz juntó los vasos de la casa de Dios, haciéndolos pedazos, cerró las puertas de la casa del Señor; e hizo altares paganos en cada parte de Jerusalén.
And Ahaz gathereth the vessels of the house of God, and cutteth in pieces the vessels of the house of God, and shutteth the doors of the house of Jehovah, and maketh to himself altars in every corner in Jerusalem.
25 Y en cada pueblo de Judá hizo lugares altos donde se quemaban inciensos a otros dioses, despertando la ira del Señor, el Dios de sus antepasados.
And in every city and city of Judah he hath made high places to make perfume to other gods, and provoketh Jehovah, God of his fathers.
26 Ahora, el resto de sus actos y todos sus caminos, desde el principio al fin, están registrados en el libro de los reyes de Judá e Israel.
And the rest of his matters, and all his ways, the first and the last, lo, they are written on the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
27 Y Acaz murió y lo enterraron en Jerusalén; pero no lo pusieron en el panteón de los reyes de Israel; y su hijo Ezequías se convirtió en rey en su lugar.
And Ahaz lieth with his fathers, and they bury him in the city, in Jerusalem, but have not brought him in to the graves of the kings of Israel, and reign doth Hezekiah his son in his stead.
