2 Crónicas 17
1 Y Josafat su hijo se hizo rey en su lugar, y se hizo fuerte contra Israel.
And his son Jehoshaphat reigns in his stead, and he strengthens himself against Israel,
2 Puso guarniciones en todas las ciudades amuralladas de Judá, y los jefes responsables en la tierra de Judá y en las ciudades de Efraín, que Asa su padre había tomado.
and puts a force in all the fortified cities of Judah, and puts garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim that his father Asa had captured.
3 Y el Señor estaba con Josafat, porque él siguió los primeros caminos de su padre, sin volverse a los baales,
And YHWH is with Jehoshaphat, for he has walked in the first ways of his father David, and has not sought for the Ba‘alim,
4 Pero volviéndose al Dios de su padre y guardando sus leyes, y no haciendo lo que hizo Israel.
for he has sought for the God of his father, and he has walked in His commands, and not according to the work of Israel.
5 Y el Señor fortaleció su reino; y todo Judá dio ofrendas a Josafat, y él tuvo gran riqueza y honra.
And YHWH establishes the kingdom in his hand, and all Judah gives a present to Jehoshaphat, and he has riches and honor in abundance,
6 Su corazón se alzó en los caminos del Señor; y fue tan lejos como para quitar los lugares altos y los pilares de madera que representaban a Asera de Judá.
and his heart is high in the ways of YHWH, and again he has turned aside the high places and the Asherim out of Judah.
7 En el tercer año de su gobierno envió a Ben-Hail, Abdías, Zacarías, Natanael y Micaías, sus capitanes, como maestros en los pueblos de Judá;
And in the third year of his reign he has sent for his heads, for Ben-Hail, and for Obadiah, and for Zechariah, and for Nethaneel, and for Michaiah, to teach in cities of Judah;
8 Y con ellos, Semaías y Netanias, Zebadias, Asael, Semiramot, Jonatan, Adonias, Tobias y Tobadonias, los levitas; y Elisama y Joram los sacerdotes.
and with them the Levites: Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijath, and Tob-Adonijah—the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.
9 Y dieron enseñanzas en Judá y tenían con ellos el libro de la ley del Señor; Pasaron por todos los pueblos de Judá enseñando a la gente.
And they teach in Judah, and the Scroll of the Law of YHWH [is] with them, and they go around into all cities of Judah, and teach among the people.
10 Y el temor del Señor estaba en todos los reinos de las tierras alrededor de Judá, para que no hicieran guerras contra Josafat.
And there is a fear of YHWH on all kingdoms of the lands that [are] around Judah, and they have not fought with Jehoshaphat;
11 Y algunos de los filisteos tomaron ofrendas a Josafat, y le hicieron pagos de plata; y los árabes le dieron rebaños, siete mil setecientos carneros, y siete mil setecientos chivos.
and [some] from the Philistines are bringing a present to Jehoshaphat, and silver [as] tribute; also, the Arabians are bringing to him a flock of seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred male goats.
12 Josafat se hizo cada vez más grande, e hizo fuertes torres y lugares de almacén en Judá.
And Jehoshaphat is going on and becoming very great, and he builds palaces and cities of store in Judah,
13 Tenía muchas propiedades en las ciudades de Judá; tenía fuerzas de hombres armados, grandes y fuertes, en Jerusalén.
and he has much work in cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty men of valor, [are] in Jerusalem.
14 Este es el número de ellos, enumerados por sus familias, los capitanes de miles de Judá: Adnas, él capitán, y con él trescientos mil hombres de guerra;
And these [are] their numbers, for the house of their fathers—of Judah, heads of thousands: Adnah the head, and with him three hundred thousand mighty men of valor;
15 Segundo a él, Johanán, el capitán, y con él doscientos ochenta mil;
and at his hand [is] Jehohanan the head, and with him two hundred and eighty thousand;
16 Después de él, Amasías, hijo de Zicri, se entregó libremente al Señor, y con él doscientos mil hombres de guerra;
and at his hand [is] Amasiah son of Zichri, who is willingly offering himself to YHWH, and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valor.
17 Y los capitanes de Benjamín: Eliada, un gran hombre de guerra, y con él doscientos mil armados con arcos y escudos;
And of Benjamin, mighty men of valor: Eliada, and with him two hundred thousand armed with bow and shield;
18 Y después de él, Jozabad, y con él ciento ochenta mil entrenados para la guerra.
and at his hand [is] Jehozabad, and with him one hundred and eighty thousand armed ones of the host.
19 Estos eran los hombres al servicio del rey, además de los colocados por el rey en las ciudades amuralladas de todo Judá.
These [are] those serving the king, apart from those whom the king put in the fortress cities in all of Judah.
