2 Crónicas 16
1 En el trigésimo sexto año del gobierno de Asa, Baasa, rey de Israel, subió contra Judá, construyendo Ramá para que nadie pudiera salir o entrar a Asa, rey de Judá.
In the sixe and thirtieth yeere of the reigne of Asa came Baasha king of Israel vp against Iudah, and built Ramah to let none passe out or goe in to Asa king of Iudah.
2 Entonces Asa tomó plata y oro de las tiendas de la casa del Señor y de la casa del rey, y envió a Ben- Adad, rey de Siria, a Damasco, diciendo:
Then Asa brought out siluer and gold out of the treasures of the house of the Lord, and of the Kings house, and sent to Benhadad King of Aram that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
3 Sea un acuerdo entre tú y yo como hubo entre mi padre y tu padre: mira, te he enviado plata y oro; Ve y pon fin a tu acuerdo con Baasa, rey de Israel, para que pueda dejar de atacarme.
There is a couenant betweene me and thee, and betweene my father and thy father: behold, I haue sent thee siluer and golde: come, breake thy league with Baasha King of Israel that hee may depart from me.
4 E hizo Ben-adad como dijo el rey Asa, y envió a los capitanes de sus ejércitos contra las ciudades de Israel, atacando a Ijon y Dan y Abel-maim, y todas las ciudades que servían de almacén a Neftalí.
And Benhadad hearkened vnto King Asa, and sent the captaines of the armies which hee had, against the cities of Israel. And they smote Iion, and Dan, and Abel-maim, and all the store cities of Naphtali.
5 Entonces, al oírlo, Baasa detuvo la construcción de Ramá suspendiendo su trabajo.
And when Baasha heard it, he left building of Ramah, and let his worke cease.
6 Entonces el rey Asa, con todo Judá, quitó las piedras y la madera con las que Baasa estaba construyendo a Ramá, y las usó para construir a Geba y Mizpa.
Then Asa the King tooke all Iudah, and caryed away the stones of Ramah and the tymber thereof, wherewith Baasha did builde, and he built therewith Geba and Mizpah.
7 En aquel momento, Hanani, él profeta, se acercó a Asa, rey de Judá, y le dijo: Porque has puesto tu fe en el rey de Siria y no en el Señor tu Dios, el ejército del rey de Siria. se ha escapado de tus manos.
And at that same time Hanani the Seer came to Asa King of Iudah, and saide vnto him, Because thou hast rested vpon the king of Aram, and not rested in the Lord thy God, therefore is the hoste of the King of Aram escaped out of thine hande.
8 ¿No eran los etíopes y los libios un ejército muy grande, con carruajes de guerra y jinetes más de lo que podrían estar contados? pero como tu fe estaba en el Señor, él los entregó en tus manos.
The Ethiopians and the Lubims, were they not a great hoste with charets and horsemen, exceeding many? yet because thou diddest rest vpon the Lord, he deliuered them into thine had.
9 Porque los ojos del Señor van, a través de toda la tierra, permite que se vea que él es el fuerte apoyo de aquellos cuyos corazones le son fieles. En esto has hecho tontamente, porque a partir de ahora tendrás guerras.
For the eyes of the Lord beholde all the earth to shewe him selfe strong with them that are of perfite heart towarde him: thou hast then done foolishly in this: therefore from henceforth thou shalt haue warres.
10 Entonces Asa se enojó con el profeta y lo puso en la cárcel, ardiendo de ira contra él a causa de esto. Y al mismo tiempo, Asa era cruel con algunas de las personas.
Then Asa was wroth with the Seer, and put him into a prison: for he was displeased with him, because of this thing. And Asa oppressed certaine of the people at the same time.
11 Ahora, los hechos de Asa, desde principio a fin, están registrados en el libro de los reyes de Judá e Israel.
And behold, the actes of Asa first and last, loe, they are written in the booke of the Kings of Iudah and Israel.
12 En el año treinta y nueve de su gobierno, Asa tenía una enfermedad muy grave de los pies; pero no acudió al Señor en busca de ayuda para su enfermedad, sino a médicos.
And Asa in the nine and thirtieth yeere of his reigne was diseased in his feete, and his disease was extreme: yet he sought not the Lord in his disease, but to the Phisicions.
13 Entonces Asa fue a descansar con sus padres, y la muerte le vino en el año cuarenta y uno de su gobierno.
So Asa slept with his fathers, and dyed in the one and fourtieth yeere of his reigne.
14 Y lo enterraron el lugar que se había hecho para él mismo en la ciudad de David, en una cama llena de perfumes dulces de todo tipo de especias, hechos por el arte del perfumista, e hicieron una gran hoguera en su honor.
And they buryed him in one of his sepulchres, which he had made for him selfe in the citie of Dauid, and layed him in the bed, which they had filled with sweete odours and diuers kindes of spices made by the arte of the apoticarie: and they burnt odours for him with an exceeding great fire.
