1 Samuel 29

1 Entonces los filisteos reunieron a todo su ejército en Afec, y los israelitas acamparon junto al manantial en Jezreel.

And the Philistines gather all their camps to Aphek, and Israel is encamping at a fountain which [is] in Jezreel,

2 Y los gobernantes de los filisteos continuaron con sus centenares y sus miles, y David y sus hombres vinieron después con Aquis.

and the princes of the Philistines are passing on by hundreds, and by thousands, and David and his men are passing on in the rear with Achish.

3 Entonces los gobernantes de los filisteos dijeron: ¿Qué están haciendo aquí estos hebreos? Y Aquis dijo a los gobernantes de los filisteos: ¿No es éste David, el siervo de Saúl, el rey de Israel, que ha estado conmigo durante un año o dos, y nunca he visto nada malo en él desde el momento en que vino a mi hasta ahora?

And the heads of the Philistines say, “What [are] these Hebrews?” And Achish says to the heads of the Philistines, “Is this not David, servant of Saul king of Israel, who has been with me these days or these years, and I have not found anything in him [wrong] from the day of his falling away until this day?”

4 Más los gobernantes de los filisteos se enojaron con él y le dijeron: Haz que el hombre regrese al lugar que le diste; no lo dejes ir con nosotros a la lucha, o puede volverse contra nosotros en medio de la batalla con nosotros. ¿Como hará el hombre paz con su señor? ¿No sería con las cabezas de estos hombres?

And the heads of the Philistines are angry against him, and the heads of the Philistines say to him, “Send back the man, and he turns back to his place to where you have appointed him, and does not go down with us into battle, and is not for an adversary to us in battle; and with what does this one reconcile himself to his lord—is it not with the heads of those men?

5 ¿No es este David, que fue nombrado en sus canciones, cuando en el baile se dijeron unos a otros, Saúl ha matado a miles y David a decenas de miles?

Is this not David, of whom they answer in choruses, saying, Saul has struck among his thousands, and David among his myriads?”

6 Entonces Aquis mandó llamar a David y le dijo: como el Señor vive, tú eres recto, y todo lo que has hecho conmigo; tu salir y entrar en el ejército me ha agradado; desde el día en que llegaste no he visto mal en ti. Cuando viniste a mí hasta ahora; pero aún así, los jefes no están contentos contigo.

And Achish calls to David and says to him, “YHWH lives, surely you [are] upright, and good in my eyes is your going out, and your coming in with me in the camp, for I have not found evil in you from the day of your coming to me until this day; but you are not good in the eyes of the princes;

7 Ahora regresa, y ve en paz, para que no hagas enojar a los jefes de los filisteos.

and now, return, and go in peace, and you do no evil in the eyes of the princes of the Philistines.”

8 Y David dijo a Aquis: ¿Y qué he hecho? ¿Qué has visto en tu siervo mientras estuve contigo hasta el día de hoy, para no ir y tomar las armas contra los que ahora están haciendo la guerra a mi señor el rey?

And David says to Achish, “But what have I done? And what have you found in your servant from the day that I have been before you until this day—that I do not go in and have fought against the enemies of my lord the king?”

9 En respuesta, Aquis dijo: Es cierto que a mis ojos eres bueno, como un ángel de Dios; pero aún así, los gobernantes de los filisteos han dicho: “Él no debe subir con nosotros a la lucha”.

And Achish answers and says to David, “I have known that you [are] good in my eyes as a messenger of God; only, the princes of the Philistines have said, He does not go up with us into battle;

10 Así que levántate temprano por la mañana, con los sirvientes de tu señor que están contigo, y ve al lugar que te he dado. Temprano en la mañana, al amanecer váyanse.

and now, rise early in the morning—and the servants of your lord who have come with you. When you have risen early in the morning, and have light, then go.”

11 Entonces, David y sus hombres se levantaron temprano por la mañana para regresar a la tierra de los filisteos. Y los filisteos subieron a Jezreel.

And David rises early, he and his men, to go in the morning, to return to the land of the Philistines, and the Philistines have gone up to Jezreel.
