1 Samuel 28
1 En aquellos días, los filisteos reunieron sus fuerzas para hacer la guerra a Israel. Y Aquis dijo a David: Ciertamente, tú y tus hombres saldrán conmigo a la lucha.
Nowe at that time the Philistims assembled their bandes and armie to fight with Israel: therfore Achish said to Dauid, Be sure, thou shalt go out with me to the battel, thou, and thy men.
2 Y David dijo a Aquis: Ahora verás lo que hará tu siervo. Y Aquis dijo a David: Entonces te haré parte de mi guardia personal para siempre.
And Dauid said to Achish, Surely thou shalt knowe, what thy seruant can doe. And Achish sayde to Dauid, Surely I will make thee keeper of mine head for euer.
3 Ahora Samuel estaba muerto, y todo Israel, después de llorar por él, enterraron su cuerpo en Ramá, su ciudad. Y Saúl había expulsado de la tierra todos los adivinos, hechiceros y los que se comunicaban con los muertos.
(Samuel was then dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah his owne citie: and Saul had put away the sorcerers, and the soothsayers out of the land)
4 Y los filisteos se reunieron y pusieron sus fuerzas en posición en Sunem; y Saúl reunió a todo Israel y tomaron sus posiciones en Gilboa.
Then the Philistims assembled themselues, and came, and pitched in Shunem: and Saul assembled all Israel, and they pitched in Gilboa.
5 Y cuando Saúl vio al ejército filisteo, se turbó, y su corazón fue dominado por él miedo.
And when Saul saw the hoste of the Philistims, he was afraid, and his heart was sore astonied.
6 Y cuando Saúl buscaba direcciones al Señor, el Señor no le respondió, ni por un sueño ni por el Urim ni por los profetas.
Therefore Saul asked counsel of the Lord, and the Lord answered him not, neither by dreames, nor by Vrim, nor yet by Prophets.
7 Entonces Saúl dijo a sus siervos: Consígame una mujer que tenga el control de un espíritu para que pueda ir a ella y obtener instrucciones. Y sus criados le dijeron: Hay una mujer así en En-dor.
Then saide Saul vnto his seruants, Seeke me a woman that hath a familiar spirite, that I may goe to her, and aske of her. And his seruants said to him, Beholde, there is a woman at En-dor that hath a familiar spirit.
8 Entonces Saúl, que se cambió de ropa, para que no se le viera como rey, tomó a dos hombres con él y fue a ver a la mujer por la noche; Y él dijo: Ahora, con la ayuda del espíritu que tienes, haz que aparezca la persona cuyo nombre yo te daré.
Then Saul changed him selfe, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he saide, I pray thee, coniecture vnto me by the familiar spirite, and bring me him vp whome I shall name vnto thee.
9 Y la mujer le dijo: Pero tienes conocimiento de lo que Saúl ha hecho, cómo ha sacado de la tierra a los adivinos, hechiceros y los que invocan a los muertos. ¿por qué, por un truco, me pones en peligro de muerte?
And the woman saide vnto him, Beholde, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath destroyed the sorcerers, and the southsayers out of the land: wherefore then seekest thou to take me in a snare to cause me to die?
10 Y Saúl le hizo un juramento por parte del Señor, diciendo: Por el Señor viviente, ningún castigo te llegará por esto.
And Saul sware to her by the Lord, saying, As the Lord liueth, no harme shall come to thee for this thing.
11 Entonces la mujer dijo: ¿A Quién quieres que haga venir? Y él dijo: Haz que Samuel venga.
Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring vp vnto thee? And he answered, Bring me vp Samuel.
12 Y la mujer vio a Samuel, y ella dio un fuerte grito, y le dijo a Saúl: ¿Por qué has usado el engaño? porque tú eres Saúl.
And when the woman sawe Samuel, she cryed with a loude voyce, and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceiued me? for thou art Saul.
13 Y el rey le dijo: No temas -¿qué ves? Y la mujer le dijo a Saúl. Veo a un dios que sale de la tierra.
And the King said vnto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said vnto Saul, I saw gods ascending vp out of the earth.
14 Y él le dijo: ¿Cuál es su forma? Y ella dijo: Es un anciano que viene cubierto con una túnica. Y Saúl vio que era Samuel, y con su rostro inclinado hacia la tierra, le dio honor.
Then he said vnto her, What facion is hee of? And she answered, An olde man commeth vp lapped in a mantel: and Saul knewe that it was Samuel, and he enclined his face to the grounde, and bowed him selfe.
15 Entonces Samuel dijo a Saúl: ¿Por qué me has hecho subir, y me has molestado? Y Saúl, en respuesta, dijo: Estoy en gran peligro; porque los filisteos me están haciendo la guerra, y Dios se ha alejado de mí y ya no me responde, ni por los profetas ni por los sueños. Por eso te he llamado para que me aclares lo que debo hacer.
And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me vp? Then Saul answered, I am in great distresse: for the Philistims make warre against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by Prophetes, neither by dreames: therefore I haue called thee, that thou mayest tell me, what I shall doe.
16 Entonces Samuel dijo: ¿Por qué me preguntas a mí, ya que Dios se ha alejado de ti y está del lado de quien está en contra tuya?
Then said Samuel, Wherefore then doest thou aske of me, seeing the Lord is gone from thee, and is thine enemie?
17 Y el Señor mismo ha hecho lo que él dijo por medio de mí: el Señor tomó el reino de tus manos y se lo dio a tu prójimo David;
Euen the Lord hath done to him, as hee spake by mine hande: for the Lord will rent the kingdome out of thine hande, and giue it thy neighbour Dauid.
18 Porque no hiciste lo que el Señor dijo, y no le hiciste efecto a su ira ardiente contra Amalec. Así que el Señor te ha hecho esto hoy.
Because thou obeyedst not the voyce of the Lord, nor executedst his fierce wrath vpon the Amalekites, therefore hath the Lord done this vnto thee this day.
19 Y más que esto, el Señor entregará a Israel contigo en manos de los filisteos. Mañana tú y tus hijos estarán conmigo y el Señor entregará el ejército de Israel en manos de los filisteos.
Moreouer the Lord wil deliuer Israel with thee into the handes of the Philistims: and to morowe shalt thou and thy sonnes be with me, and the Lord shall giue the hoste of Israel into the handes of the Philistims.
20 Entonces Saúl se desmayó y se cayó de largo en el suelo y se llenó de temor a causa de las palabras de Samuel, y no tuvo fuerzas en él, porque no había comido nada durante todo el día ni toda la noche.
Then Saul fell streight way all along on the earth, and was sore afraide because of the wordes of Samuel, so that there was no strength in him: for he had eaten no bread all the day nor all the night.
21 Y la mujer vino a Saúl y vio que él estaba en un gran problema, y le dijo: Mira, tu sierva ha escuchado tus palabras, y he puesto mi vida en peligro al hacer lo que dijiste.
Then the woman came vnto Saul, and sawe that he was sore troubled, and said vnto him, See, thine handmaide hath obeyed thy voyce, and I haue put my soule in mine hande, and haue obeyed thy wordes which thou saydest vnto me.
22 Ahora, escucha la voz de tu sierva, y déjame darte un poco de pan y toma algo de comida para darte fuerza cuando sigas tu camino.
Now therefore, I pray thee, hearke thou also vnto ye voyce of thine handmaid, and let me set a morsell of bread before thee, that thou mayest eat and get thee strength, and go on thy iourney.
23 Pero él no quiso, diciendo: No deseo comer. Pero sus siervos, junto con la mujer, lo hicieron comer, y les dio paso. Entonces se levantó de la tierra y se sentó en la cama.
But he refused, and said, I will not eate: but his seruants and the woman together compelled him, and he obeyed their voyce: so he arose from the earth, and sate on the bed.
24 Y la mujer tenía en la casa un ternero engordado; y ella lo mató de inmediato; y ella tomó la comida y la mezcló e hizo pan sin levadura;
Nowe the woman had a fat calfe in the house, and she hasted, and killed it, and tooke floure and kneaded it, and baked of it vnleauened bread.
25 Y ella lo puso delante de Saúl y sus siervos, y comieron. Luego se levantaron y se fueron esa misma noche.
Then she brought them before Saul, and before his seruants: and when they had eaten, they stoode, and went away the same night.
