1 Reyes 18
1 Después de mucho tiempo, la palabra del Señor vino a Elías, en el tercer año, diciendo: Ve y muéstrate a Acab, para que pueda enviar lluvia sobre la tierra.
And it was days many and [the] word of Yahweh it came to Elijah in the year third saying go present yourself to Ahab so let me give rain on [the] surface of the ground.
2 Entonces Elías fue y se presentó a Acab. Ahora había una hambruna en Samaria.
And he went Elijah to present himself to Ahab and the famine [was] severe in Samaria.
3 Y Acab mandó llamar a Abdías, el mayordomo de la casa del rey. Ahora bien, Abdías reverenciaba mucho al Señor;
And he summoned Ahab Obadiah who [was] over the household and Obadiah he was fearing Yahweh exceedingly.
4 Porque cuando Jezabel estaba cortando a los profetas del Señor, Abdías tomó a cien de ellos y los guardó secretamente en una cueva, cincuenta a la vez, y les dio pan y agua.
And it was when cut off Jezebel [the] prophets of Yahweh and he took Obadiah one hundred prophets and he hid them fifty man in the cave and he supplied them food and water.
5 Y Acab dijo a Abdías: Vamos, pasemos por todo el país, a todas las fuentes de agua y todos los ríos, y veamos si hay hierba para los caballos y las bestias de transporte. para que podamos evitar que algunas de las bestias sean destruidas.
And he said Ahab to Obadiah go in the land to all [the] springs of water and to all the wadis perhaps - we will find grass so we may preserve alive horse and mule and not we will cut off any of the livestock.
6 Y recorrieron todo el país, cubriéndolo entre ellos; Acab fue solo en una dirección, y Abdías fue solo en otra.
And they divided to themselves the land to pass in it Ahab he went in a direction one to only him and Obadiah he went in a direction one to only him.
7 Y mientras Abadías iba en camino, se encontró cara a cara con Elías; y viendo quién era, se postró y dijo: ¿Eres tu, mi señor Elias?
And he was Obadiah on the way and there! Elijah to meet him and he recognized him and he fell on face his and he said ¿ you [is] this O lord my Elijah.
8 Y Elías, en respuesta, dijo: Soy yo; Ahora ve y dile a tu señor: Elías está aquí.
And he said to him [it is] I go say to master your here! Elijah.
9 Y él dijo: ¿Qué pecado he hecho, para que entregues a tu siervo en manos de Acab, y seas la causa de mi muerte?
And he said what? have I sinned that you [are] giving servant your in [the] hand of Ahab to put to death me.
10 Por la vida del Señor tu Dios, no hay nación ni reino donde mi señor no haya enviado a buscarte; y cuando dijeron: no está aquí; les hizo jurar que no te habían visto.
[by] [the] life - Of Yahweh God your if there [is] a nation and a kingdom where not he has sent master my there to seek you and they said not and he made swear the kingdom and the nation that not it has found you.
11 Y ahora dices: Ve, di a tu señor: Elías está aquí.
And now you [are] saying go say to master your here! Elijah.
12 Y de inmediato, cuando me haya alejado de ti, el espíritu del Señor te llevará, adonde yo no sepa, así que cuando venga y le diga a Acab, y él no te ve, él me matará, aunque yo, tu siervo, he sido un adorador del Señor desde mi juventud.
And it will be I - I will go from with you and [the] spirit of Yahweh - it will carry away you to where not I know and I will go to tell to Ahab and not he will find you and he will kill me and servant your [is] fearing Yahweh since youth my.
13 ¿Mi señor no ha tenido noticias de lo que hice cuando Jezabel estaba matando a los profetas del Señor? ¿Cómo guardé a cien de ellos en un agujero secreto en la roca, cincuenta a la vez, y les di pan y agua?
¿ Not has it been told to lord my [that] which I did when killed Jezebel [the] prophets of Yahweh and I hid of [the] prophets of Yahweh one hundred man fifty fifty man in the cave and I supplied them food and water.
14 Y ahora dices: Ve y di a tu Señor: Elías está aquí; y él me matará.
And now you [are] saying go say to master your here! Elijah and he will kill me.
15 Entonces Elías dijo: Por la vida del Señor de los ejércitos, de quien soy siervo, ciertamente le dejaré que me vea hoy.
And he said Elijah [by] [the] life of Yahweh of hosts whom I stand before him for this day I will present myself to him.
16 Entonces Abdías fue a Acab y le dio la noticia; Y Acab fue a ver a Elías.
And he went Obadiah to meet Ahab and he told to him and he went Ahab to meet Elijah.
17 Y cuando vio a Elías, Acab le dijo: ¿Eres tú, perturbador de Israel?
And it was when saw Ahab Elijah and he said Ahab to him ¿ you [is] this O [one who] troubles Israel.
18 Entonces él respondió: No, yo no he estado molestando a Israel, sino tú y tu familia; porque, dejaron los mandamientos del Señor, has ido tras los baales.
And he said not I have troubled Israel that except you and [the] household of father your because have forsaken you [the] commandments of Yahweh and you have walked after the Baals.
19 Ahora, envíen y reúnan a Israel delante de mí en el Monte Carmelo, con los cuatrocientos cincuenta profetas de Baal y los cuatrocientos profetas de los bosques que Jezabel Mantiene.
And now send gather to me all Israel to [the] mountain of Carmel and [the] prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty and [the] prophets of Asherah four hundred [who] eat of [the] table of Jezebel.
20 Entonces Acab envió por todos los hijos de Israel y reunió a los profetas en el monte Carmelo.
And he sent Ahab among all [the] people of Israel and he gathered the prophets to [the] mountain of Carmel.
21 Entonces Elías se acercó a todo el pueblo y dijo: ¿Cuánto tiempo seguirán entre dos opiniones? Si el Señor es Dios, entonces síganlo, más si baal, síganlo a él. Y la gente no respondió ni una palabra.
And he drew near Elijah to all the people and he said until when? [will] you [be] limping on [the] two the crutches if Yahweh [is] God walk after him and if Baal walk after him and not they answered the people him a word.
22 Entonces Elías dijo al pueblo: Yo, incluso yo, soy el único profeta viviente del Señor; mas los profetas de Baal son cuatrocientos cincuenta hombres.
And he said Elijah to the people I I am left a prophet of Yahweh to alone me and [the] prophets of Baal [are] four hundred and fifty man.
23 Ahora, que nos den dos bueyes; y que tomen uno para ellos, y que se corten, y lo pongan sobre la leña, pero no pongan fuego debajo de él; Prepararé el otro buey, lo pondré en la leña y no pondrán fuego debajo.
And let people give to us two young bulls and let them choose for themselves the young bull one and let them cut in pieces it and they may put on the wood and fire not they will set and I I will prepare - the young bull one and I will put on the wood and fire not I will set.
24 Invoquen a sus dioses, y yo invocaré al Señor: y quedará claro que el que da respuesta por fuego es Dios. Y todas las personas en respuesta dijeron: Está bien dicho.
And you will call on [the] name of god your and I I will call on [the] name of Yahweh and he will be the god who he will answer by fire he God and it answered all the people and they said [is] good the word.
25 Entonces Elías dijo a los profetas de Baal: Toma un buey para ti y prepáralo primero, porque hay más de ustedes; invoquen el nombre de sus dioses, pero no pongan fuego debajo.
And he said Elijah to [the] prophets of Baal choose for yourselves the young bull one and prepare [it] first for you [are] the many and call on [the] name of god your and fire not you will set.
26 Entonces tomaron el buey que se les había dado y lo prepararon, clamando a Baal desde la mañana hasta la mitad del día, y diciendo: Oh Baal, escúchanos. Pero no hubo voz ni respuesta. Y estaban saltando arriba y abajo ante el altar que habían hecho.
And they took the young bull which someone gave to them and they prepared [it] and they called on [the] name of Baal from the morning and until the noontide saying O Baal answer us and there not [was] a sound and there not [was one who] answered and they limped around at the altar which he had made.
27 Y a la mitad del día, Elías se burló de ellos, diciendo: Da gritos más fuertes, porque él es un dios; puede estar pensando profundamente, o puede haberse ido por algún motivo, o puede estar en un viaje, o por casualidad está durmiendo y tiene que estar despierto.
And it was at the noontide and he mocked them Elijah and he said call out with a voice great for [is] a god he for musing and for a going away [belongs] to him and for a journey [belongs] to him perhaps [is] sleeping he so he may awake.
28 Así que lanzaron fuertes gritos, cortándose con cuchillos y lancetas, como era su camino, hasta que la sangre brotó sobre ellos.
And they called out with a voice great and they cut themselves according to custom their with swords and with lances until poured out blood over them.
29 Y desde la mitad del día continuaron con sus oraciones hasta el momento de la ofrenda; pero no hubo voz, ni respuesta, ni nadie que les prestara atención.
And it was when passed the noontide and they prophesied until goes up the offering and there not [was] a sound and there not [was one who] answered and there not [was] attention.
30 Entonces Elías dijo a todo el pueblo: Acércate a mí; y toda la gente se acercó. Y volvió a levantar el altar del Señor, que había sido derribado.
And he said Elijah to all the people draw near to me and they drew near all the people to him and he repaired [the] altar of Yahweh that was torn down.
31 Entonces Elías tomó doce piedras, el número de las tribus de los hijos de Jacob, a quienes el Señor había dicho: Israel será tu nombre:
And he took Elijah two [plus] ten stones according to [the] number of [the] tribes of [the] sons of Jacob whom it had come [the] word of Yahweh to him saying Israel it will be name your.
32 Y con las piedras hizo un altar al nombre del Señor; e hizo una zanja profunda alrededor del altar, lo suficientemente grande como para tomar dos medidas de semilla.
And he built the stones an altar in [the] name of Yahweh and he made a trench like a receptacle of two seahs seed around the altar.
33 Puso la leña en orden y, cortando el buey, la puso sobre la leña. Luego dijo: Consigue cuatro recipientes llenos de agua y ponlos en la ofrenda quemada y en la madera. Y él dijo: Hazlo por segunda vez, y lo hicieron por segunda vez;
And he arranged the wood and he cut it in pieces the young bull and he put [it] on the wood. And he said fill four jars water and pour [it] on the burnt offering and on the wood
34 Y él dijo: Hazlo por tercera vez, y lo hicieron por tercera vez.
and he said do again and they did again and he said do a third time and they did a third time.
35 Y el agua rodeó todo el altar hasta que la zanja se llenó.
And they went the waters around the altar and also the trench he filled water.
36 Entonces en el momento de la ofrenda, el profeta Elías se acercó y dijo: Oh Señor, el Dios de Abraham, de Isaac y de Israel, que se vea hoy que eres Dios en Israel, y que soy tu siervo, y que he hecho todas estas cosas por tu orden.
And it was - when went up the offering and he drew near Elijah the prophet and he said O Yahweh [the] God of Abraham Isaac and Israel this day let it be known that you [are] God in Israel and I [am] servant your (and at word your *Q(K)*) I have done all the things these.
37 Dame una respuesta, oh Señor, dame una respuesta, para que esta gente pueda ver que eres Dios y que has hecho que sus corazones vuelvan de nuevo a ti.
Answer me O Yahweh answer me so they may know the people this that you O Yahweh [are] God and you you have turned around heart their backwards.
38 Entonces el fuego del Señor descendió, quemando la ofrenda y la madera y las piedras y el polvo, y bebiendo el agua en la zanja.
And it fell [the] fire of Yahweh and it consumed the burnt offering and the wood and the stones and the dust and the water which [was] in the trench it licked up.
39 Y cuando la gente lo vio, todos se arremolinaron y dijeron: El Señor, él es Dios, el Señor, él es Dios.
And it saw all the people and they fell on faces their and they said Yahweh he [is] God Yahweh he [is] God.
40 Entonces Elías les dijo: Toma a los profetas de Baal, que ninguno de ellos se escape. Entonces los tomaron, y Elías los hizo bajar al arroyo Cisón, y los mataron allí.
And he said Elijah to them seize - [the] prophets of Baal anyone may not he escape of them and they seized them and he brought down them Elijah to [the] wadi of Kishon and he slaughtered them there.
41 Entonces Elías dijo a Acab: ¡Arriba! toma comida y bebida, porque hay un sonido de mucha lluvia.
And he said Elijah to Ahab go up eat and drink for [the] sound of [the] noise of rain.
42 Entonces Acab subió a comer y beber, mientras que Elías subió a la cima del Carmelo; y descendió sobre la tierra, poniendo su rostro entre las rodillas.
And he went up Ahab to eat and to drink and Elijah he went up to [the] top of Carmel and he crouched [the] ground towards and he put face his between (knees his. *Q(K)*)
43 Y díjole a su siervo: Ve ahora, y mira en dirección al mar. Y subió, y después de mirar, dijo: No hay nada. Y él dijo: Vuelve siete veces; y fue siete veces.
And he said to servant his go up please look [the] direction of [the] sea and he went up and he looked and he said there not [is] anything and he said go back seven times.
44 Y por séptima vez dijo: Veo una nube que sale del mar, tan pequeña como la mano de un hombre. Luego dijo: sube y dile a Acab: prepara tu carruaje y baja o la lluvia te retendrá.
And it was at the seventh [time] and he said there! a cloud small like [the] hand of a person [is] coming up from [the] sea and he said go up say to Ahab harness and go down and not it will hold back you the rain.
45 Y después de muy poco tiempo, el cielo se oscureció con las nubes y el viento, y hubo una gran lluvia. Y Acab fue en su carruaje a Jezreel.
And it was - until thus and until thus and the heavens they grew dark clouds and wind and it was rain great and he rode Ahab and he went Jezreel towards.
46 Y la mano del Señor estaba sobre Elías y le dio fuerzas, y salió corriendo, hasta que llegaron a Jezreel, y llegó antes de Acab.
And [the] hand of Yahweh it was to Elijah and he girded up loins his and he ran before Ahab until coming you Jezreel towards.
