1 Reyes 11
1 Salomón amó a varias mujeres extranjeras, mujeres de los moabitas, amonitas, edomitas, sidonias e hititas:
And king Solomon was a lover of women. And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines. And he took strange women, as well as the daughter of Pharao, Moabitish, Ammanitish women, Syrians and Idumeans, Chettites, and Amorites;
2 Las naciones de las cuales el Señor había dicho a los hijos de Israel: No deben unirse a ellas y ellas no deben unirse a ustedes, o ciertamente te harán ir tras sus dioses. Salomón se apegó a estas con amor.
of the nations concerning whom the Lord forbade the children of Israel, [saying], Ye shall not go in to them, and they shall not come in to you, lest they turn away your hearts after their idols: Solomon clave to these in love.
3 Tuvo setecientas esposas, hijas de reyes y otras trescientas concubinas; y a través de sus esposas su corazón fue desviado.
4 Porque sucedió que cuando Salomón era viejo, su corazón fue tras otros dioses por sus esposas; y su corazón ya no era fiel al Señor su Dios como lo había sido el corazón de su padre David.
And it came to pass in the time of the old age of Solomon, that his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as [was] the heart of David his father. And the strange women turned away his heart after their gods. Then Solomon built a high place to Chamos the idol of Moab, and to their king the idol of the children of Ammon,
5 Porque Salomón fue tras Astarte, la diosa de los sidonios, y Milcom, el dios repugnante de los amonitas.
and to Astarte the abomination of the Sidonians.
6 Y Salomón hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, no andando en los caminos del Señor con todo su corazón como lo hizo David su padre.
And thus he acted towards all his strange wives, who burnt incense and sacrificed to their idols. And Solomon did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord: he went not after the Lord, as David his father.
7 Entonces Salomón levantó un lugar alto para Quemos, el repugnante dios de Moab, en la montaña delante de Jerusalén, y para Moloc, el repugnante dios adorado por los hijos de Ammon.
8 Y así lo hizo con todas sus esposas extrañas, que hicieron ofrendas quemando perfumes a sus dioses.
9 Y él Señor se enojó con Salomón, porque su corazón se apartó del Señor, el Dios de Israel, que había acudido dos veces a él en una visión;
And the Lord was angry with Solomon, because he turned away his heart from the Lord God of Israel, who had appeared twice to him,
10 Y le había dado órdenes acerca de esto mismo, que no debía perseguir a otros dioses; pero él no guardó las órdenes del Señor.
and charged him concerning this matter, by no means to go after other gods, but to take heed to do what the Lord God commanded him; neither was his heart perfect with the Lord, according to the heart of David his father.
11 Entonces el Señor le dijo a Salomón: Porque has hecho esto y no has guardado mi acuerdo y mis leyes, que te di, quitaré el reino de ti por la fuerza y se lo daré a tu siervo.
And the Lord said to Solomon, Because it has been thus with thee, and thou hast not kept my commandments and my ordinances which I commanded thee, I will surely rend thy kingdom out of thy hand, and give it to thy servant.
12 No lo haré en tu vida, debido a tu padre David, pero se lo quitaré a tu hijo.
Only in thy days I will not do it for David thy father's sake: [but] I will take it out of the hand of thy son.
13 Sin embargo, no le quitaré todo el reino; pero daré una tribu a tu hijo, por mi siervo David, y por Jerusalén, el pueblo de mi elección.
Only I will not take away the whole kingdom: I will give one tribe to thy son for David my servant's sake, and for the sake of Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen.
14 Entonces el Señor envió a Hadad edomita para causar problemas a Salomón, él era de la simiente del rey en Edom.
And the Lord raised up an enemy to Solomon, Ader the Idumaean, and Esrom son of Eliadae who [dwelt] in Raama, [and] Adadezer king of Suba his master; (and men gathered to him, and he was head of the conspiracy, and he seized on Damasec, ) and they were adversaries to Israel all the days of Solomon: and Ader the Idumaean [was] of the seed royal in Idumaea.
15 Cuando David envió destrucción sobre Edom, y Joab, el capitán del ejército, fue a enterrar a los muertos y mató a todos los varones de Edom.
And it happened, that while David was utterly destroying Edom, while Joab captain of the host was going to bury the dead, when they slew every male in Idumaea;
16 Porque Joab y todo Israel estuvieron allí seis meses hasta que todos los varones en Edom hubieran sido cortados;
(for Joab and all Israel abode there six months in Idumaea, until he utterly destroyed every male in Idumaea; )
17 Hadad, siendo todavía un niño pequeño, se fue a Egipto, con ciertos edomitas, sirvientes de su padre;
that Ader ran away, he and all the Idumaeans of the servants of his father with him; and they went into Egypt; and Ader [was then] a little child.
18 Y se fueron de Madián y vinieron a Parán; y, llevándose a los hombres de Parán con ellos, llegaron a Egipto, a Faraón, rey de Egipto, quien le dio una casa y le dio comida y le dio tierra.
And there rise up men out of the city of Madiam, and they come to Pharan, and take men with them, and come to Pharao king of Egypt: and Ader went in to Pharao, and he gave him a house, and appointed him provision.
19 Ahora bien, Hadad agradó mucho a Faraón, de modo que le dio la hermana de su esposa, la reina Tahpenes, por su esposa.
And Ader found great favour in the sight of Pharao, and he gave him his wife's sister in marriage, the elder sister of Thekemina.
20 Y la hermana de Tahpenes tuvo un hijo con él, Genubat, a quien Tahpenes cuidó en la casa de Faraón; y Genubat vivía en la casa de Faraón entre los hijos de Faraón.
And the sister of Thekemina bore to him, [even] to Ader, Ganebath her son; and Thekemina brought him up in the midst of the sons of Pharao, and Ganebath was in the midst of the sons of Pharao.
21 Cuando Hadad tuvo noticias en Egipto de que David había muerto y que Joab, el capitán del ejército, había muerto, le dijo al Faraón: “Regrésame a mi país”.
And Ader heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the host was dead; and Ader said to Pharao, Let me go, and I will return to my country.
22 Pero el Faraón le dijo: ¿Qué te falta, que deseas volver a tu país? Y él respondió: Nada; Pero aun así, envíame de vuelta.
And Pharao said to Ader, What lackest thou with me? that lo! thou seekest to depart to thy country? and Ader said to him, By all means let me go.
23 Y envió Dios otro adversario, Rezon, el hijo de Eliada, que había huido de su amo, Hadad Ezer, rey de Sobá;
So Ader returned to his country; this [is] the mischief which Ader did, and he was a bitter enemy of Israel, and he reigned in the land of Edom.
24 Reunió a algunos hombres y se hizo capitán de una banda de forajidos; después de que David mató a los de Sobá, fue a Damasco y se convirtió en rey allí.
25 Fue un problema para Israel durante todos los días de Salomón. Además del daño que Hadad hizo: fue cruel con Israel y gobernó a Siria.
26 También jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, un efrateo de Sereda, un siervo de Salomón, cuya madre era Zerúa, una viuda; Y su mano se rebeló contra el rey.
And Jeroboam the son of Nabat, the Ephrathite of Sarira, the son of a widow, [was] servant of Solomon.
27 La forma en que se rebeló contra el rey fue esta: Salomón estaba construyendo el terraplén cerrando la brecha de la ciudad de su padre David;
And this [was] the occasion of his lifting up [his] hands against king Solomon: now king Solomon built the citadel, he completed the fortification of the city of David his father.
28 Y Jeroboam era un hombre capaz y responsable; y Salomón vio que era un buen trabajador y lo hizo supervisor de todo el trabajo dado a los hijos de José.
And the man Jeroboam was very strong; and Solomon saw the young man that he was active, and he set him over the levies of the house of Joseph.
29 Y en ese momento, cuando Jeroboam salía de Jerusalén, el profeta Ahías, él de Silo, lo encontró en el camino; ahora Ahías se había puesto una nueva túnica; y los dos estaban solos en el campo abierto.
And it came to pass at that time, that Jeroboam went forth from Jerusalem, and Achia the Selonite the prophet found him in the way, and caused him to turn aside out of the way: and Achia was clad with a new garment, and they two [were] alone in the field.
30 Y Ahías tomó su nueva túnica en sus manos, la rasgó en doce pedazos.
And Achia laid hold of his new garment that was upon him, and tore it [into] twelve pieces:
31 Y dijo a Jeroboam: Toma diez de las partes, porque esto es lo que el Señor ha dicho: Mira, quitaré el reino de Salomón por la fuerza, y te daré diez tribus;
and he said to Jeroboam, Take to thyself ten pieces, for thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Behold, I rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give thee ten tribes.
32 Pero una de sus tribus será suya, por mi siervo David y por Jerusalén, el pueblo que, de todas las tribus de Israel, he escogido.
Yet he shall have two tribes, for my servant David's sake, and for the sake of Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel.
33 Porque se apartaron de mí para la adoración de Astarté, la diosa de los sidonios, y Quemos el dios de Moab, y Milcom, el dios de los amonitas; no han estado caminando en mis caminos o haciendo lo que es correcto a mis ojos o guardando mis leyes y mis decisiones como lo hizo su padre David.
Because he forsook me, and sacrificed to Astarte the abomination of the Sidonians, and to Chamos, and to the idols of Moab, and to their king the abomination of the children of Ammon, and he walked not in my ways, to do that which was right before me, as David his father [did].
34 Pero no le quitaré el reino; Dejaré que sea rey todos los días de su vida, a causa de David mi siervo, en quien me deleité porque cumplió mis órdenes y mis leyes.
Howbeit I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, (for I will certainly resist him all the days of his life, ) for David my servant's sake, whom I have chosen.
35 Pero tomaré el reino de su hijo, y te lo daré a ti.
But I will take the kingdom out of the hand of his son, and give thee ten tribes.
36 Y daré una tribu a su hijo, para que mi siervo David tenga una luz para siempre encendida en Jerusalén, la ciudad que he hecho mía para poner mi nombre allí.
But to his son I will give the two [remaining] tribes, that my servant David may have an establishment continually before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen for myself to put my name there.
37 Y te tomaré a ti, y serás rey sobre Israel, gobernando sobre lo que sea el deseo de tu alma.
And I will take thee, and thou shalt reign as thy soul desires, and thou shalt be king over Israel.
38 Y si prestas atención a las órdenes que te doy, andas en mis caminos y haces lo que es correcto a mis ojos y guardas mis leyes y mis órdenes como hizo David mi siervo; entonces estaré contigo, estableceré tu dinastía, como hice con David, y te daré a Israel.
And it shall come to pass, if thou wilt keep all the commandments that I shall give thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do that which is right before me, to keep my ordinances and my commandments, as David my servant did, that I will be with thee, and will build thee a sure house, as I built to David.
39 Pero a la descendencia de David, la castigaré pero no para siempre.
40 Y Salomón buscaba la oportunidad de dar muerte a Jeroboam; pero huyó a Egipto, donde reinaba Sisac, rey de Egipto, y estuvo en Egipto hasta la muerte de Salomón.
And Solomon sought to slay Jeroboam: but he arose and fled into Egypt, to Susakim king of Egypt, and he was in Egypt until Solomon died.
41 Los demás hechos de Salomón, y todo lo que hizo, y su sabiduría, ¿no están registrados en el libro de las crónicas de Salomón?
And the rest of the history of Solomon, and all that he did, and all his wisdom, behold are not these things written in the book of the life of Solomon?
42 Y el tiempo que Salomón fue rey en Jerusalén sobre todo Israel fue de cuarenta años.
And the days [during] which Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel [were] forty years.
43 Y Salomón murió y fue enterrado, en la ciudad de David y su hijo Roboam se convirtió en rey en su lugar.
And Solomon slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David his father, and Roboam his son reigned in his stead.
