1 Reyes 1

1 Ahora el rey David era viejo y avanzado en años; y aunque lo cubrían con cobijas, su cuerpo estaba frío.

And kyng Dauid wax eld, and hadde ful many daies of age; and whanne he was hilid with clothis, he was not maad hoot.

2 Entonces sus siervos le dijeron: Busquen una virgen joven para mi señor el rey, para cuidarlo y le sirva; duerma con él y le de calor.

Therfor hise seruauntis seiden to hym, Seke we to oure lord the kyng a yong wexynge virgyn; and stonde sche bifor the kyng, and nursche sche hym, and slepe in his bosum, and make hoot oure lord the kyng.

3 Así que, después de buscar en toda la tierra de Israel a una joven hermosa, vieron a Abisag, la sunamita, y la llevaron al rey.

Therfor thei souyten a yong wexyng virgyn, fair in alle the coostis of Israel; and thei founden Abisag of Sunam, and thei brouyten hir to the kyng.

4 Ahora ella era muy hermosa; y ella cuidaba al rey, le servía en todo momento; pero el rey no tuvo relaciones con ella.

Forsothe the damysel was ful fair, and sche slepte with the kyng, and mynystride to hym; forsothe the king knew not hir fleischli.

5 Entonces Adonías, hijo de Haguit, se rebeló, dijo: yo seré rey; y alistó sus carruajes de guerra y sus jinetes, con cincuenta corredores por delante.

Sotheli Adonye, sone of Agith, was reisid, and seide, Y schal regne. And he made to hym a chare, and knyytis, and fifti men, that runnen bifor hym.

6 Ahora, durante toda su vida, su padre nunca fue contra él ni le dijo: ¿Por qué lo has hecho? y era un hombre muy guapo, y más joven que Absalom.

Nether his fadir repreuyde hym ony tyme, and seide, Whi `didist thou this? Forsothe also he was ful fair, the secounde child aftir Absolon; and his word was with Joab,

7 Y habló con Joab, hijo de Sarvia, y con el sacerdote Abiatar; y se pusieron de su lado y le dieron su apoyo.

sone of Saruye, and with `Abiathar, preest, that helpiden the partis of Adonye.

8 Pero el sacerdote Sadoc, y Benaía, hijo de Joiada, el profeta Natán y Simei y Rei, y los hombres de guerra de David no se pusieron del lado de Adonías.

Sotheli Sadoch, the preest, and Banaie, sone of Joiada, and Nathan, the prophete, and Semey, and Cerethi, and Ferethi, and al the strengthe of the oost of Dauid, weren not with Adonye.

9 Entonces Adonías mató ovejas y bueyes y bestias gordas por la piedra de Zohelet, de Rogel; y envió a todos sus hermanos, los hijos del rey, y todos los hombres de Judá, los siervos del rey, para que vinieran a él:

Therfor whanne rammes weren offrid, and caluys, and alle fatte thingis, bisidis the stoon Zoelech, that was nyy the welle of Rogel, Adonye clepide alle hise britheren, sones of the kyng, and alle the men of Juda, seruauntis of the kyng.

10 Pero no envió a buscar al profeta Natán, a Benaía, a los otros hombres de guerra, a su hermano Salomón.

Sotheli `he clepide not Nathan, the profete, and Banaie, and alle stronge men, and Salomon, his brothir.

11 Entonces Natán dijo a Betsabé, la madre de Salomón: ¿Acaso no ha llegado a tus oídos que Adonías, el hijo de Haguit, se haya hecho rey sin el conocimiento de David nuestro señor?

Therfor Nathan seide to Bersabee, modir of Salomon, Whether thou herdist, that Adonye, sone of Agith, regnede, and oure lord Dauid knoweth not this?

12 Ahora, permíteme hacer una sugerencia, para que puedas mantener tu vida a salvo y la vida de tu hijo Salomón.

Now therfor come thou, take thou counsel of me, and saue thi lijf, and of Salomon thi sone.

13 Ven ahora, ve al rey David y dile: ¿No me hiciste un juramento a mi siervo, oh señor mío, diciendo: De verdad, tu hijo Salomón será rey después de mí, él subirá al trono de mi reino? ¿Por qué entonces actúa Adonías como rey?

Go thou, and entre to kyng Dauid, and seie thou to hym, Whether not thou, my lord the kyng, hast swore to me, thin handmaide, and seidist, that Salomon thi sone schal regne aftir me, and he schal sitte in my trone?

14 Y mientras todavía hablas con el rey, iré detrás de ti y diré que tu historia es verdadera.

Whi therfor regneth Adonye? And yit while thou schalt speke there with the kyng, Y schal come aftir thee, and `Y schal fille thi wordis.

15 Entonces Betsabé entró en la habitación del rey; ahora el rey era muy viejo, y Abisag la sunamita le estaba sirviendo.

Therfor Bersabee entride to the kyng in the closet; forsothe the kyng was ful eeld, and Abisag of Sunam `mynystride to hym.

16 Y Betsabé descendió sobre su rostro en el suelo delante del rey, dándole honor. Y él dijo: ¿Cuál es tu deseo?

Bersabee bowide hir silf, and worschipide the kyng; to whom the kyng seide, What wolt thou to thee?

17 Y ella le dijo: Señor, tú hiciste un juramento al Señor tu Dios, y diste tu palabra a tu sierva, diciendo: De verdad, tu hijo Salomón será rey después de mí, subirá al trono de mi Reino.

And sche answeride, and seide, My lord the kyng, thou hast swore to thin handmaide bi thi Lord God, Salomon thy sone schal regne aftir me, and he schal sitte in my trone;

18 Y ahora, mira, Adonías se ha hecho a sí mismo rey sin el conocimiento de mi señor;

and lo! Adonye hath regnede now, `while thou, my lord the kyng, knowist not;

19 Y ha dado muerte a los bueyes y las bestias gordas y ovejas en gran número, y ha enviado a todos los hijos del rey, al sacerdote Abiatar y a Joab, el capitán del ejército; mas no ha invitado a tu siervo Salomón.

he hath slayn oxis, and alle fatte thingis, and ful many rammes; and he clepide alle the sones of the king, also `Abiathar preest, and Joab, the prince of chyualri; but he clepide not Salomon, thi seruaunt.

20 Y ahora, mi señor el rey, los ojos de todo Israel están sobre ti, esperando que digas quién va a ocupar el lugar de mi señor el rey después de él.

Netheles, my lord the kyng, the iyen of al Israel biholden in to thee, that thou schewe to hem, who owith to sitte in thi trone, my lord the kyng, aftir thee;

21 Pues sucederá, en cuanto mi señor el rey duerma con sus padres, yo y mi hijo Salomón seremos condenados a muerte.

and it schal be, whanne my lord the kyng hath slepte with hise fadris, Y and my sone Salomon schulen be synneris.

22 Y mientras ella seguía hablando con el rey, entró el profeta Natán.

`While sche spak yit with the king, Nathan, the prophete, cam.

23 Y dijeron al rey: Aquí está el profeta Natán. Y cuando entró ante el rey, se postró sobre el suelo.

And thei telden to the kyng, and seiden, Nathan, the prophete, is present. And whanne he hadde entrid in the siyt of the kyng, and hadde worschipide hym lowli to erthe,

24 Y Natán dijo: Rey señor mío, ¿has dicho: Adonías será rey después de mí, sentado en el trono de mi reino?

Nathan seide, My lord the kyng, seidist thou, Adonye regne aftir me, and sitte he on my trone?

25 Porque hoy ha bajado y ha matado bueyes, bestias gordas y ovejas en gran número, y ha enviado a todos los hijos del rey para que vengan a él, con los capitanes del ejército y el sacerdote Abiatar; y están festejando delante de él y gritando: ¡Larga vida al rey Adonías!

For he cam doun to dai, and offride oxis, and fatte thingis, and ful many wetheris; and he clepide alle the sones of the kyng, also Abiathar, preest; and whanne thei eten, and drunken bifor hym, and seiden, Kyng Adonye lyue;

26 Pero yo, tu siervo, y el sacerdote Sadoc, y Benaía, hijo de Joiada, y tu siervo Salomón, él no nos ha invitado.

he clepide not me, thi seruaunt, and Sadoch, preest, and Banaie, sone of Joiada, and Salomon, thi sone.

27 ¿Ha hecho esto mi señor el rey, sin avisar a sus siervo quien debía ser colocado en el trono de mi señor el rey después de él?

Whether this word yede out fro my lord the kyng, and thou schewidist not to me, thi seruaunt, who schulde sitte on the trone of my lord the king after hym?

28 Entonces el rey David, en respuesta, dijo: Envía a Betsabé a venir a mí. Y ella entró y tomó su lugar delante del rey.

And kyng Dauid answeride, and seide, Clepe ye Bersabee to me. And whanne sche hadde entrid bifor the kyng, and hadde stonde bifor hym, the kyng swoor,

29 Entonces el rey hizo un juramento y dijo: Por el Señor vivo, que ha sido mi salvador de todos mis problemas,

and seide, The Lord lyueth, that delyueryde my lijf fro al angwisch;

30 Cuando te juré por el Señor, el Dios de Israel, diciendo: Ciertamente, tu hijo Salomón se hará rey después de mí, sentado en mi lugar en mi trono; Así lo haré este día.

for as Y swore to thee bi the Lord God of Israel, and seide, Salomon, thi sone, schal regne after me, and he schal sitte on my trone for me, so Y schal do to dai.

31 Entonces Betsabé descendió sobre su rostro al suelo, haciendo reverencia al rey, y dijo: Que mi señor, el rey David, siga viviendo para siempre.

And Bersabee, with the cheer cast doun in to erthe, worschipide the kyng, and seide, My lord the kyng Dauid lyue with outen ende.

32 Y el rey David dijo: Llama al sacerdote Sadoc, al profeta Natán y a Benaía, hijo de Joiada. Y vinieron delante del rey.

And kyng Dauid seide, Clepe ye Sadoch, the preest, to me, and Nathan, the prophete, and Banaie, sone of Joiada. And whanne thei hadden entrid bifor the kyng,

33 Y el rey les dijo: Toma contigo a los siervos de tu señor, y pon a mi hijo Salomón en mi mula, y llévalo a Gihón;

the kyng seide to hem, Take with you the seruauntis of youre lord, and putte ye my sone Salomon on my mule, and lede ye hym in to Gyon.

34 Dejen que el sacerdote Sadoc y el profeta Natán ungirán con aceite santo sobre él para hacerle rey sobre Israel; y al sonar la bocina digan: ¡Larga vida al rey Salomón!

And Sadoch, the preest, and Nathan, the profete, anoynte hym in to kyng on Israel and Juda; and ye schulen synge with a clarioun, and ye schulen seie, Lyue kyng Salomon!

35 Luego, suban tras él, y él entrará y tomará su lugar en el trono de mi reino; porque él debe ser rey en mi lugar, y yo he ordenado que él sea gobernante sobre Israel y sobre Judá.

Ye schulen stie aftir hym, and ye schulen come to Jerusalem; and he schal sitte on my trone, and he schal regne for me; and Y schal comaunde to hym, that he be duyk on Israel and on Juda.

36 Y Benaía, hijo de Joiada, respondiendo al rey, dijo: Así sea: y que el Señor, el Dios de mi señor el rey, lo diga.

And Banaie, sone of Joiada, answeride to the kyng, and seide, Amen, `that is, so be it, ether verili, ether feithfuli; so speke the Lord God of my lord the kyng.

37 Como el Señor ha estado con mi señor el rey, así puede estar con Salomón y hacer que el trono de su autoridad sea mayor que el de mi señor el rey David.

As the Lord was with my lord the kyng, so be he with Salomon, and make he the trone of Salomon heiyere than the trone of my lord the kyng Dauid.

38 Entonces el sacerdote Sadoc, y el profeta Natán, y Benaía, hijo de Joiada, y los cereteos y los peleteos, descendieron y pusieron a Salomón sobre la mula del rey David y lo llevaron a Gihón.

Therfor Sadoch, the preest, yede doun, and Nathan, the prophete, and Banaie, sone of Joiada, and Cerethi, and Ferethi; and thei puttiden Salomon on the mule of Dauid, the kyng, and thei brouyten hym in to Gion.

39 Entonces el sacerdote Sadoc tomó el cuerno de aceite del santuario y ungió con aceite santo a Salomón. Y cuando sonó el cuerno, todas las personas dijeron: ¡Larga vida al rey Salomón!

And Sadoch, the preest, took an horn of oile of the tabernacle, and anoyntide Salomon; and thei sungen with a clarioun; and al the puple seide, Lyue kyng Salomon!

40 Y todo el pueblo subió tras él, tocando flautas, y se alegraron con gran alegría, y la tierra se estremeció con el sonido.

And al the multitude stiede after hym, and the puple of men syngynge with pipis, and `of men beynge glad with greet ioye, `stiede aftir hym; and the erthe sownede of the cry of hem.

41 Y llegó a oídos de Adonías y de todos los invitados que estaban con él cuando terminaron de comer. Y Joab, al oír el sonido del cuerno, dijo: ¿Cuál es la razón de este ruido en la ciudad?

Forsothe Adonye herde, and alle that weren clepid of hym to feeste; and thanne the feeste was endid. But also Joab seide, whanne the vois of trumpe was herd, What wole it to it silf the cry of the citee makynge noise?

42 Y mientras las palabras estaban en sus labios, vino Jonatán, hijo del sacerdote Abiatar; Y Adonías dijo: Entra; Porque eres un hombre de buena fe y las noticias que tienes para nosotros serán buenas.

Yit the while he spak, Jonathan, sone of Abiathar, the preest, cam; to whom Adonye seide, Entre thou, for thou art a strong man, and tellynge goode thingis.

43 Y respondiendo Jonatán, dijo a Adonías: No es así, pero nuestro señor el rey David ha hecho rey a Salomón:

And Jonathan answeride to Adonye, Nay; for oure lord the kyng Dauid hath ordeyned Salomon kyng;

44 Y él envió con él al sacerdote Sadoc, al profeta Natán, a Benaía, hijo de Joiada, a los cereteos y a los peleteos; Y lo pusieron sobre la mula del rey.

and Dauid sente with Salomon Sadoch, the preest, and Nathan, the prophete, and Banaie, sone of Joiada, and Cerethi, and Ferethi; and thei puttiden Salomon on the mule of the kyng.

45 Entonces el sacerdote Sadoc y el profeta Natán lo ungieron con aceite santo y lo hicieron rey en Gihón; y volvieron de allí con alegría, y la ciudad estaba toda alborotada. Este es el ruido que ha llegado a tus oídos.

And Sadoch, the preest, and Nathan, the prophete, anoyntiden hym kyng in Gion; and thei camen doun fro thennus beynge glad, and the citee sownede; this is the vois which ye herden.

46 Y ahora Salomón está sentado en el trono del reino.

But also Salomon sittith on the trone of rewme;

47 Y los siervos del rey se acercaron a nuestro señor el rey David, bendiciéndolo y diciendo: Que Dios haga el nombre de Salomón mejor que tu nombre, y el trono de su autoridad mayor que tu trono; y el rey se inclinó para adorar en su cama.

and the seruauntis of the kyng entriden, and blessiden oure lord the kyng Dauid, and seiden, God make large the name of Salomon aboue thi name, and magnyfye his trone aboue thi trone. And kyng Dauid worschipide in his bed;

48 Entonces el rey dijo: Alabado sea el Dios de Israel, que ha dado a uno de mi descendencia como rey en mi lugar este día y ha dejado que mis ojos lo vean.

and ferthermore he spak these thingis, Blessid be the Lord God of Israel, that yaf to dai a sittere in my trone, while myn iyen seen.

49 Y todos los invitados de Adonías se levantaron temerosos y se fueron, cada uno por su lado.

Therfor alle, that weren clepid of Adonye to feeste, weren aferd, and risiden, and ech man yede in to his weie.

50 Y Adonías estaba lleno de temor por causa de Salomón; Se levantó y fue al altar, y se puso las manos en los cuernos.

Sotheli Adonye dredde Salomon, and roos, and yede in to the tabernacle of the Lord, and helde the horn of the auter.

51 Y le dieron a Salomón una palabra, diciendo: Mira, Adonías teme tanto al rey Salomón, que ha puesto sus manos sobre los cuernos del altar, diciendo: Que el rey Salomón primero me dé su juramento de que no matará a espada a su siervo.

And thei telden to Salomon, and seiden, Lo! Adonye dredith the kyng Salomon, and holdith the horn of the auter, and seith, Kyng Salomon swere to me to dai, that he schal not sle his seruaunt bi swerd.

52 Y Salomón dijo: Si se ve que es un hombre de buena fe, ninguno de sus cabellos será tocado; pero si se ve algún delito en él, debe ser ejecutado.

And Salomon seide, If he is a good man, sotheli not oon heer of hym schal falle in to erthe; but if yuel be foundun in hym, he schal die.

53 Envió, pues, el rey Salomón, y lo bajaron del altar. Y vino y dio honor al rey Salomón; Y Salomón le dijo: Ve a tu casa.

Therfor kyng Salomon sente, and ledde `hym out fro the auter; and he entride, and worschipide kyng Salomon; and Salomon seide to hym, Go in to thin hows.
