1 Juan 5
1 Todos los que creen en que Jesús es el Cristo son hijos de Dios; y todos los que aman al Padre tienen amor por su hijo.
Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ has been begotten by God; also, whoever loves the Begetter should love the one begotten by Him as well.
2 De esta manera, estamos seguros de que tenemos amor por los hijos de Dios, cuando tenemos amor por Dios y guardamos sus mandamientos.
In this we know that we love the children of God, whenever we love God and keep His commandments.
3 Porque amando a Dios guardamos sus mandamientos, y sus mandamientos no son difíciles.
For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; His commandments are not burdensome,
4 Todo lo que viene de Dios vence al mundo; y esta es la victoria que ha vencido al mundo, nuestra fe.
in that whatever has been begotten by God overcomes the world; this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith.
5 ¿Quién puede vencer al mundo sino el hombre que cree en que Jesús es el Hijo de Dios?
Who is he who overcomes the world if not he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
6 Este es el que vino por agua y sangre, Jesucristo; no solo por agua sino por agua y sangre.
This is He who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ—not by the water only, but by the water and the blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is the Truth;
7 Y el Espíritu es el testigo, porque el Espíritu es verdad.
actually there are three who bear witness
8 Porque tres son los que dan testimonio, el Espiritu, el agua, y la sangre; y estos tres son uno.
—the Spirit, the water and the blood—and the three are to one effect.
9 Si tomamos el testimonio de los hombres para ser verdad, el testimonio de Dios es mayor: porque este es el testimonio que Dios ha dado acerca de su Hijo.
If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for this is God's testimony which He has testified concerning His Son.
10 El que cree en el Hijo de Dios tiene el testimonio en sí mismo: el que no cree en Dios lo hace mentiroso, porque no cree en el testimonio que Dios ha dado acerca de su Hijo.
He who believes into the Son of God has the witness within himself; he who does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has testified concerning His Son.
11 Y su testimonio es este, que Dios nos ha dado la vida eterna, y esta vida está en su Hijo. (aiōnios g166)
And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. (aiōnios g166)
12 El que tiene al Hijo, tiene la vida; el que no tiene al Hijo de Dios no tiene la vida.
He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.
13 He puesto estas cosas por escrito para ustedes que creen en el nombre del Hijo de Dios, para que estén seguros de que tienen vida eterna y para que crean en él nombre del Hijo de Dios. (aiōnios g166)
I have written these things to you who believe into the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life, really believing into the name of God's Son. (aiōnios g166)
14 Y esta es la confianza que tenemos en él, que si le hacemos alguna solicitud de acuerdo a su voluntad, él nos escucha:
Now this is the confidence that we have toward Him: if we should ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
15 Y si estamos seguros de que presta atención a todas nuestras peticiones, también estamos seguros de que obtendremos nuestras peticiones.
And if we know that He hears us, whatever we may ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of Him.
16 Si un hombre ve a su hermano haciendo un pecado que no es suficientemente malo para la muerte, que ore a Dios, y Dios le dará vida a aquel cuyo pecado no fue lo suficientemente malo para la muerte. Hay un pecado cuyo castigo es la muerte: no digo que él pueda hacer tal pedido entonces.
If anyone should see his brother sinning a sin not leading to death, let him ask, and He will give him life for those who do not sin unto death. There is sin leading to death; I am not saying that he should make request about that.
17 Toda injusticia es pecado; pero la muerte no es el castigo de todo tipo de pecado.
All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not leading to death.
18 Estamos seguros de que alguien que es hijo de Dios no pecará, pero el Hijo de Dios lo guarda para que no sea tocado por el Maligno.
We know that whoever has been begotten by God does not sin; rather the one who was begotten by God preserves himself, and the evil one does not touch him.
19 Estamos seguros de que somos de Dios, pero todo el mundo está en poder del Maligno.
We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.
20 Y estamos seguros de que el Hijo de Dios ha venido, y nos ha dado entendimiento, para que podamos ver al que es verdadero, y estamos en el verdadero, en su Hijo Jesucristo. Él es el verdadero Dios y la vida eterna. (aiōnios g166)
We know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the genuine God, and the Life eternal. (aiōnios g166)
21 Hijitos Míos, cuidense de dioses falsos.
Dear children, guard yourselves from idols. Amen.
