1 Corintios 9

1 ¿No soy libre? ¿No soy un apóstol? ¿No he visto a Jesús nuestro Señor? ¿no son ustedes el resultado de mi trabajo en el Señor?

Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? and are not ye my work in the Lord?

2 Si para otros no soy un apóstol, al menos soy uno para ustedes; el hecho de que sean creyentes es la señal de que soy un apóstol.

If I am not an apostle to others, yet doubtless I am to you: for ye are in the Lord the seal of my apostleship.

3 Mi respuesta a los que me juzgan es esto.

And this is my answer to them that call me to account: have we not power to eat and to drink?

4 ¿No tenemos derecho a tomar comida y bebida?

5 ¿No tenemos derecho a llevar con nosotros una esposa cristiana, como el resto de los Apóstoles, y los hermanos del Señor, y Cefas?

we not power to lead about with us a sister a wife as well as other apostles, and the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?

6 O solo yo y Bernabé, ¿no tenemos derecho a descansar del trabajo?

Or is it I only and Barnabas, that have not power to forbear working?

7 ¿Quién va a la guerra sin esperar a que alguien sea responsable de su pago? ¿Quién cultiva viñedo y no come el fruto de ellas? ¿o quién cuida ovejas sin beber su leche?

Who ever goes a warfare at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and doth not eat of the fruit of it? or who feedeth a flock, and doth not eat of the milk of the flock?

8 ¿Estoy hablando como un hombre? ¿la ley no dice lo mismo?

Do I speak these things as a man only?

9 Porque dice en la ley de Moisés: No es correcto impedir que el buey tome el grano cuando lo está aplastando. ¿Es por los bueyes que Dios está dando órdenes?

or saith not the law the same also? for it is written in the law of Moses, "Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn." Now doth God take care for oxen,

10 ¿O nos tiene en mente? Sí, fue dicho por nosotros; porque es correcto para el labrador hacer su arado en la esperanza, y para el que está aplastando el grano para hacer su trabajo esperando una parte en los frutos de ello.

or doth He say this indeed for our sakes? For it is certainly written for our sakes, that he, who ploweth, might plow in hope; and that he, who thresheth in hope, should partake of his hope.

11 Si hemos plantado para ti las cosas del Espíritu, ¿te parece grandioso que nos des partes en tus cosas de este mundo?

If we then have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great matter if we reap your carnal things?

12 Si otros tienen una parte en este derecho sobre ustedes, ¿no tenemos aún más? Pero no hicimos uso de nuestro derecho, para no poner nada en el camino de las buenas nuevas de Cristo.

If others partake of this power over you, may not we rather? though we have not used this power; but we bear all things, least we should cause any hindrance to the gospel of Christ.

13 ¿No ves que los siervos de las cosas santas se ganan la vida del templo, y los siervos del altar tienen su parte en la comida que se ofrece sobre el altar?

Do ye not know, that they who are employed about the sacrifices have their food from the temple? and they, who attend at the altar, are partakers with the altar?

14 Así también el Señor dio órdenes para que los predicadores de las buenas nuevas pudieran ganarse la vida con las buenas nuevas.

So also the Lord hath ordained, that those who preach the Gospel should live of the Gospel.

15 Pero no he usado ninguna de estas cosas: y no estoy escribiendo esto con la esperanza de que me puedan dar algo: porque sería mejor para mí sufrir la muerte, a que alguien me quite esta satisfacción que tengo!

But I have availed myself of none of these things. Nor have I written these things, that it might be so done as to me: for it were better for me to die, than that any one should make this my glorying void.

16 Porque si soy un predicador de las buenas nuevas, no tengo motivo para estar orgulloso de esto; porque estoy obligado a hacerlo, porque una maldición está sobre mí si no lo hago.

For if I preach the gospel, yet I have no ground for boasting; because I am under necessity to do it: and wo is me if I do not preach the Gospel.

17 Pero si lo hago con gusto, tengo una recompensa; y si no, tengo órdenes de hacerlo.

Now if I do this willingly, I have a reward; and if unwillingly, yet I am intrusted with the commission, and I must execute it.

18 ¿Cuál es mi recompensa? Esto, que cuando estoy dando las buenas noticias, puedo darlo sin cobrar nada, sin hacer uso de mis derechos como predicador de las buenas nuevas.

What is my reward then but this? that when I preach I may make the gospel of Christ not expensive, that so I may not abuse my power in the gospel.

19 Porque aunque fui libre de todos, me hice siervo de todos para que otros tuvieran salvación.

For though I am free from all, yet I have made myself a servant to all, that I might gain the more.

20 Y para los judíos yo era judío, para ganarlos para Cristo, para darles las buenas nuevas; para los que están bajo la ley yo era el mismo, no como si estuviera bajo la ley, sino para dar las buenas nuevas a los que están bajo la ley.

And to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; that is, to those, who are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain those who are under the law:

21 A los que no obedecían a la ley, como si yo estuviera sin ley, no como un ser sin ley para Dios, sino sujeto a la ley de Cristo, para dar la buena noticia a aquellos que no tienen la ley.

and to those without the law as without the law, (not being without law to God, but under the law to Christ) that I might gain those who are without the law.

22 Para los débiles en la fe, débil como uno de ellos, para que tengan salvación: he sido todo para todos, para que al menos algunos tengan la salvación.

To the weak I became as the weak, that I might gain the weak: I became all things to all men, that I might by every means save some.

23 Y hago todo por la causa de las buenas nuevas, para hacerme copartícipe.

And this I do for the sake of the gospel, that I may be a fellow partaker of it.

24 ¿No ven que en una competencia en curso todos participan, pero sólo uno obtiene la recompensa? Así que fijen su meta en la recompensa.

Know ye not, that those, who run in a race, do all indeed run, but one only receiveth the prize? So run that ye may obtain.

25 Y cada hombre que participa en los deportes tiene dominio propio en todas las cosas. Ahora lo hacen para obtener una corona que es de este mundo, pero nosotros para una corona eterna, incorruptible.

And every one that enters the lists is temperate in all things: they indeed do it that they may receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible one.

26 Entonces estoy corriendo, no sin incertidumbre; entonces peleo, no como quien da golpes en el aire:

I therefore so run, not as unobserved: I so fight, not as one that beateth the air:

27 Pero doy golpes a mi cuerpo, y lo mantengo bajo control, por temor a que, después de haber dado las buenas nuevas a otros, para no quedar yo mismo descalificado después de haber predicado a otros.

but I mortify my body and bring it into subjection, least after having preached to others, I myself should be rejected.
