1 Crónicas 14
1 Hiram, rey de Tiro, envió hombres a David con cedros, y trabajadores de la piedra y de la madera para la construcción de su palacio.
And Chiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar timbers, and masons, and carpenters, to build a house for him.
2 Y David vio que el Señor había salvado su posición de rey sobre Israel, exaltado su reino por amor a su pueblo Israel.
And David knew that the Lord [had] designed him to be king over Israel; because his kingdom was highly exalted, on account of his people Israel.
3 Y mientras él vivía en Jerusalén, David tomó más esposas y se convirtió en el padre de más hijos e hijas.
And David took more wives in Jerusalem: and there were born to David more sons and daughters.
4 Estos son los nombres de los hijos que tuvo en Jerusalén: Samúa, y Sobab, Natán y Salomón.
And these [are] the names of those that were born, who were [born] to him in Jerusalem; Samaa, Sobab, Nathan, and Solomon,
5 E Ibhar, Elisua, Elpelet,
and Baar, and Elisa, and Eliphaleth,
6 Y Noga, Nefeg, Jafia.
and Nageth, and Naphath, and Japhie,
7 Y Elisama, Eliada, y Elifeset.
and Elisamae, and Eliade, and Eliphala.
8 Y cuando los filisteos tuvieron noticias de que David había sido hecho rey sobre todo Israel, subieron en busca de David, y David, oyéndolo, salió contra ellos.
And the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel: and all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard [it], and went out to meet them.
9 Habían venido los filisteos, y habían salido en todas direcciones en el valle de Refaim.
And the Philistines came and assembled together in the giants' valley.
10 Y David, deseando instrucciones de Dios, dijo: ¿Debo subir contra los filisteos? ¿Y los entregarás en mis manos? Y el Señor dijo: Sube; porque las entregaré en tus manos.
And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into my hand? And the Lord said to him, Go up, and I will deliver them into thy hands.
11 Entonces subieron a Baal-perazim, y David los venció allí, y David dijo: Dios ha dejado que las fuerzas que luchan contra mí se rompan por mi mano, como se rompe un muro por el agua corriendo; Entonces le dieron a ese lugar el nombre de Baal-perazim.
And he went up to Baal Pharasin, and David smote them there; and David said, God has broken through enemies by my hand like a breach of water: therefore he called the name of that place, the Breach of Pharasin.
12 Y los filisteos no tomaron sus imágenes con ellos en su vuelo; y por orden de David, fueron quemados con fuego.
And the Philistines left their gods there; and David gave orders to burn them with fire.
13 Entonces los filisteos salieron de nuevo en todas direcciones en el valle.
And the Philistines once more assembled themselves in the giants' valley.
14 Y David fue a consultar a Dios; Y díjole Dios: No subas tras ellos; pero, al alejarse de ellos, cuando estén frente a los árboles de moras.
And David enquired of God again; and God said to him, Thou shalt not go after them; turn away from them, and thou shalt come upon them near the pear trees.
15 Y al sonido de pasos en las copas de los árboles, sal a la lucha, porque Dios ha salido ante ti para vencer al ejército de los filisteos.
And it shall be, when thou shalt hear the sound of their tumult in the tops of the pear trees, then thou shalt go into the battle: for God has gone out before thee to smite the army of the Philistines.
16 E hizo David como el Señor le había dicho; y vencieron al ejército de los filisteos, atacándolos desde Gabaón hasta Gezer.
And he did as God commanded him: and he smote the army of the Philistines from Gabaon to Gazera.
17 Y el nombre de David fue honrado en todas las tierras; y el Señor puso el temor de él sobre todas las naciones.
And the name of David was [famous] in all the land; and the Lord put the terror of him on all the nations.
