Sofonías 3
1 ¡Ay de la ciudad ensuciada y contaminada y opresora!
Woe to the rebellious and unclean city of oppression,
2 No escuchó la voz, ni recibió la disciplina; no se confió en el SEÑOR, no se acercó a su Dios.
She has not obeyed the voice, she has not accepted instruction, In the Lord she has not trusted, to her God she has not drawn near.
3 Sus príncipes en medio de ella son leones bramadores; sus jueces, lobos de tarde que no dejan hueso para la mañana;
Her rulers in her midst are roaring lions. Her judges are evening wolves, who leave nothing over until the morning,
4 sus profetas, son livianos, varones prevaricadores; sus sacerdotes contaminaron el santuario, falsearon la ley.
Her prophets are braggarts, faithless men. Her priests profane what is holy and do violence to the law.
5 El SEÑOR justo en medio de ella, no hará iniquidad; cada mañana sacará a luz su juicio, nunca falta; mas el perverso no tiene vergüenza.
The Lord is righteous in her midst, he does no wrong, Morning by morning he establishes his decree, Light is not lacking, an oversight is unknown. But the unjust know no shame.
6 Hice talar los gentiles; sus castillos están asolados; hice desiertas sus calles, hasta no quedar quien pase; sus ciudades están asoladas hasta no quedar hombre, hasta no quedar morador.
“I have cut off nations, their turrets are destroyed; I have laid waste their broad streets, so that none passes over them. Desolate are their cities without people, without inhabitants.”
7 Diciendo: Ciertamente ahora me temerás; recibirás castigo, y no será derribada su habitación, todo lo cual yo visité sobre ella; mas ellos se levantaron de mañana y corrompieron todas sus obras.
I said: “Surely the city will fear me, she will accept instruction. Nothing will vanish from her eyes that I have impressed upon her; But the more zealously have they made all their deeds corrupt.”
8 Por tanto, esperadme, dijo el SEÑOR, el día que me levantaré al despojo; porque mi juicio es de coger los gentiles, juntar los reinos, para derramar sobre ellos mi enojo, toda la ira de mi furor; porque del fuego de mi celo será consumida toda la tierra.
Wait for me, is the Lord’s message, until the day when I stand up as a witness, for it is my fixed purpose to gather the nations, to collect the kingdoms, to pour upon them my wrath and my hot anger; for by the fire of my fury will all the earth be consumed.
9 Porque entonces volveré yo a los pueblos el lenguaje puro, para que todos invoquen el nombre del SEÑOR, para que de un solo consentimiento le sirvan.
For then I will purify the lips of all peoples, so that they will all call on the Lord’s name, to serve him with one accord.
10 De esa parte de los ríos de Etiopía, suplicarán a mí, la hija de mis esparcidos, me traerá presente.
From beyond the rivers of Cush my worshipers will bring me offerings.
11 En aquel día no te avergonzarás de ninguna de tus obras con las cuales te rebelaste contra mí; porque entonces quitaré de en medio de ti los que se alegran en tu soberbia, y nunca más te ensoberbecerás del monte de mi santidad.
On that day you will no longer be ashamed of all your deeds by which you rebelled against me. For I will rid you of your proudly arrogant ones, and you will never again be haughty on my holy mountain.
12 Y dejaré en medio de ti un pueblo humilde y pobre, los cuales esperarán en el nombre del SEÑOR.
But I will leave in your midst a people humble and poor, and the remnant of Israel will trust in the name of the Lord.
13 El remanente de Israel no hará iniquidad, ni dirá mentira, ni en boca de ellos se hallará lengua engañosa; porque ellos serán apacentados y dormirán, y no habrá quien los espante.
They will not do evil, nor speak falsehood, and a deceitful tongue will not be found in their mouth; but they will pasture and lie down, and no one will make them afraid.
14 Canta, oh hija de Sion; da voces de júbilo, oh Israel; gózate y regocíjate de todo corazón, oh hija de Jerusalén.
Cry out with joy, daughter of Zion, shout aloud, Israel! Rejoice and exult with all your heart, daughter of Jerusalem.
15 El SEÑOR alejó tus juicios, echó fuera tu enemigo; El SEÑOR es Rey de Israel en medio de ti; nunca más verás el mal.
The Lord has put away your adversaries, he has turned away your foes; the Lord is king in your midst, you will fear evil no more.
16 En aquel tiempo se dirá a Jerusalén: No temas; Sion, no se debiliten tus manos.
In that day it will be said to Jerusalem: Fear not! Zion, let not your hands grow weak!
17 El SEÑOR está en medio de ti, poderoso, él salvará; se gozará sobre ti con alegría, callará de amor, se regocijará sobre ti con cantar.
The Lord your God is in your midst, a victorious hero. He will rejoice over you with joy, he will renew his love, he will exult over you with singing,
18 Reuniré a los fastidiados por causa del largo tiempo; tuyos son; para quienes la confusión de ella era una carga.
as on a day of festival. I will take away from you your disgrace, and put away from you your reproach.
19 He aquí, en aquel tiempo yo apremiaré a todos tus opresores; y salvaré a la coja, y recogeré la descarriada; y los pondré por alabanza y por renombre en toda la tierra de su confusión.
I will destroy at that time all who afflict you. I will deliver the lame, and gather the outcast, I will make them an object of renown and fame in all the earth.
20 En aquel tiempo yo os traeré, en aquel tiempo yo os congregaré; porque yo os daré por renombre y por alabanza entre todos los pueblos de la tierra, cuando tornaré vuestros cautivos delante de vuestros ojos, dice el SEÑOR.
I will do good to you, at the time when I gather you. For I will make you an object of fame and renown among all the peoples of the earth; when I bring back your captivity before your eyes. This says the Lord.
