Zacarías 8
1 Y vino palabra del SEÑOR de los ejércitos, diciendo:
And the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying:
2 Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Yo celé a Sion con gran celo, y con gran ira la celé.
Thus saith the Lord of hosts: I have been jealous for Sion with a great jealousy, and with a great indignation have I been jealous for her.
3 Así dijo el SEÑOR: Yo restituiré a Sion, y moraré en medio de Jerusalén; y Jerusalén se llamará Ciudad de Verdad, y el monte del SEÑOR de los ejércitos, monte de Santidad.
Thus saith the Lord of hosts: I am returned to Sion, and I will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called The city of truth, and the mountain of the Lord of hosts, The sanctified mountain.
4 Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Aún han de morar ancianos y ancianas en las plazas de Jerusalén, y cada cual con bordón en su mano por la multitud de los días.
Thus saith the Lord of hosts: There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem: and every man with his staff in his hand through multitude of days.
5 Y las calles de la ciudad serán llenas de muchachos y muchachas, que jugarán en ellas.
And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls, playing in the streets thereof.
6 Así dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Si esto parecerá dificultoso a los ojos del remanente de este pueblo en estos días, ¿también será dificultoso delante de mis ojos? Dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos.
Thus saith the Lord of hosts: If it seem hard in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days: shall it be hard in my eyes, saith the Lord of hosts?
7 Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: He aquí, yo salvo mi pueblo de la tierra del oriente, y de la tierra donde se pone el sol;
Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Behold I will save my people from the land of the east, and from the land of the going down of the sun.
8 y los traeré, y habitarán en medio de Jerusalén; y me serán por pueblo, y yo seré a ellos por Dios con verdad y con justicia.
And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God in truth and in justice.
9 Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Esfuércense vuestras manos, de vosotros los que oís en estos días estas palabras de la boca de los profetas, desde el día que se echó el cimiento a la Casa del SEÑOR de los ejércitos, para edificar el Templo.
Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Let your hands be strengthened, you that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, in the day that the house of the Lord of hosts was founded, that the temple might be built.
10 Porque antes de estos días no ha habido paga de hombre, ni paga de bestia, ni hubo paz alguna para entrante ni para saliente, a causa de la angustia; porque yo incité a todos los hombres, cada cual contra su compañero.
For before those days there was no hire for men, neither was there hire for beasts, neither was there peace to him that came in, nor to him that went out, because of the tribulation: and I let all men go every one against his neighbour.
11 Mas ahora no lo haré con el remanente de este pueblo como en aquellos días pasados, dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos.
But now I will not deal with the remnant of this people according to the former days, saith the Lord of hosts.
12 Porque la simiente de la paz quedará; la vid dará su fruto, y la tierra dará su fruto, y los cielos darán su rocío; y haré que el remanente de este pueblo posea todo esto.
But there shall be the seed of peace: the vine shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew: and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.
13 Y será que como fuisteis maldición entre los gentiles, oh Casa de Judá y Casa de Israel, así os salvaré, para que seáis bendición. No temáis, mas esfuércense vuestras manos.
And it shall come to pass, that as you were a curse among the Gentiles, O house of Juda, and house of Israel: so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing: fear not, let your hands be strengthened.
14 Porque así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Como pensé haceros mal cuando vuestros padres me provocaron a ira, dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, y no me arrepentí;
For thus saith the Lord of hosts: As I purposed to afflict you, when your fathers had provoked me to wrath, saith the Lord,
15 así tornando he pensado hacer bien a Jerusalén y a la Casa de Judá en estos días; no temáis.
And I had no mercy: so turning again I have thought in these days to do good to the house of Juda, and Jerusalem: fear not.
16 Estas son las cosas que haréis: Hablad verdad cada cual con su prójimo; juzgad en vuestras puertas verdad y juicio de paz;
These then are the things, which you shall do: Speak ye truth every one to his neighbour: judge ye truth and judgment of peace in your gates.
17 y ninguno de vosotros piense mal en su corazón contra su prójimo, ni améis juramento falso; porque todas estas cosas son las que yo aborrezco, dijo el SEÑOR.
And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his friend: and love not a false oath: for all these are the things that I hate, saith the Lord.
18 Y vino palabra del SEÑOR de los ejércitos a mí, diciendo:
And the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying:
19 Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: El ayuno del cuarto mes, y el ayuno del quinto, y el ayuno del séptimo, y el ayuno del décimo, se tornarán a la Casa de Judá en gozo y alegría, y en festivas solemnidades. Amad, pues, la Verdad y la Paz.
Thus saith the Lord of hosts: The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth shall be to the house of Juda, joy, and gladness, and great solemnities: only love ye truth and peace.
20 Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Aún vendrán pueblos, y moradores de muchas ciudades;
Thus saith the Lord of hosts, until people come, and dwell in many cities,
21 y vendrán los moradores de una ciudad a la otra, y dirán: Vamos a orar a la faz del SEÑOR, y busquemos al SEÑOR de los ejércitos. ( Y el otro responderá: ) Yo también iré.
And the inhabitants go one to another, saying: Let us go, and entreat the face of the Lord, and let us seek the Lord of hosts: I also will go.
22 Y vendrán muchos pueblos y fuertes naciones a buscar al SEÑOR de los ejércitos en Jerusalén, y a orar a la faz del SEÑOR.
And many peoples, and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem, and to entreat the face of the Lord.
23 Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: En aquellos días acontecerá que diez varones de todas las lenguas de los gentiles, tomarán del manto del varón judío, diciendo: Iremos con vosotros, porque hemos oído que Dios está con vosotros.
Thus saith the Lord of hosts: In those days, wherein ten men of all languages of the Gentiles shall take hold, and shall hold fast the shirt of one that is a Jew, saying: We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.
