Salmos 74
1 Masquil de Asaf. ¿Por qué, oh Dios, nos has desechado para siempre? ¿Por qué ha humeado tu furor contra las ovejas de tu prado?
A Maskil of Asaph. Why have You rejected us forever, O God? Why does Your anger smolder against the sheep of Your pasture?
2 Acuérdate de tu congregación, que adquiriste de antiguo, cuando redimiste la vara de tu heredad; este monte de Sion, donde has habitado.
Remember Your congregation, which You purchased long ago and redeemed as the tribe of Your inheritance— Mount Zion where You dwell.
3 Levanta tus pies a los asolamientos eternos; a todo enemigo que ha hecho mal en el santuario.
Turn Your steps to the everlasting ruins, to everything in the sanctuary the enemy has destroyed.
4 Tus enemigos han bramado en medio de tus asambleas; han puesto sus propias banderas por señas.
Your foes have roared within Your meeting place; they have unfurled their banners as signs,
5 Nombrado era, como si lo llevara al cielo, el que metía las hachas en el monte de la madera espesa para el edificio del santuario.

6 Y ahora con hachas y martillos han quebrado todas sus entalladuras.
and smashing all the carvings with hatchets and picks.
7 Han puesto a fuego tus santuarios, han ensuciado en la tierra el tabernáculo de tu Nombre.
They have burned Your sanctuary to the ground; they have defiled the dwelling place of Your Name.
8 Dijeron en su corazón: Destruyámoslos de una vez; quemaron todos los lugares de ayuntamiento del pueblo de Dios en la tierra.
They said in their hearts, “We will crush them completely.” They burned down every place where God met us in the land.
9 No vemos ya nuestras banderas propias; no hay más profeta; ni hay con nosotros quien sepa. ¿Hasta cuándo?
There are no signs for us to see. There is no longer any prophet. And none of us knows how long this will last.
10 ¿Hasta cuándo, oh Dios, nos afrentará el angustiador? ¿Ha de blasfemar el enemigo perpetuamente tu Nombre?
How long, O God, will the enemy taunt You? Will the foe revile Your name forever?
11 ¿Por qué retraes tu mano, y tu diestra? ¿ Por qué la escondes dentro de tu seno?
Why do You withdraw Your strong right hand? Stretch it out to destroy them!
12 Pero Dios es mi rey ya de antiguo; el que obra salud en medio de la tierra.
Yet God is my King from ancient times, working salvation on the earth.
13 Tú hendiste el mar con tu fortaleza; quebrantaste las cabezas de los dragones en las aguas.
You divided the sea by Your strength; You smashed the heads of the dragons of the sea;
14 Tú magullaste las cabezas del leviatán; lo diste por comida al pueblo de los desiertos.
You crushed the heads of Leviathan; You fed him to the creatures of the desert.
15 Tú abriste fuente y río; tú secaste ríos impetuosos.
You broke open the fountain and the flood; You dried up the ever-flowing rivers.
16 Tuyo es el día, tuya también es la noche; tú aparejaste la lumbre y el sol.
The day is Yours, and also the night; You established the moon and the sun.
17 Tú estableciste todos los términos de la tierra; el verano y el invierno tú los formaste.
You set all the boundaries of the earth; You made the summer and winter.
18 Acuérdate de esto: que el enemigo ha dicho afrentas al SEÑOR, y que el pueblo loco ha blasfemado tu Nombre.
Remember how the enemy has mocked You, O LORD, how a foolish people has spurned Your name.
19 No entregues a las bestias el alma de tu tórtola; y no olvides para siempre la congregación de tus pobres.
Do not deliver the soul of Your dove to beasts; do not forget the lives of Your afflicted forever.
20 Mira al pacto; porque las tenebrosidades de la tierra llenas están de habitaciones de violencia.
Consider Your covenant, for haunts of violence fill the dark places of the land.
21 No vuelva avergonzado el abatido; el pobre y el menesteroso alabarán tu Nombre.
Do not let the oppressed retreat in shame; may the poor and needy praise Your name.
22 Levántate, oh Dios, aboga tu causa; acuérdate de cómo el loco te injuria cada día.
Rise up, O God; defend Your cause! Remember how the fool mocks You all day long.
23 No olvides las voces de tus enemigos; el alboroto de los que se levantan contra ti sube continuamente.
Do not disregard the clamor of Your adversaries, the uproar of Your enemies that ascends continually.
