Salmos 72
1 Para Salomón. Oh Dios, da tus juicios al rey, y tu justicia al hijo del rey.
Of Solomon. Give the king, O God, your own spirit of justice your spirit of right to the son of the king,
2 El juzgará tu pueblo con justicia, y tus pobres con juicio.
that with right he may judge your people, and your downtrodden ones with justice.
3 Los montes llevarán paz al pueblo, y los collados, por justicia.
May the mountains bear weal for the people, and the hills yield fruits of justice.
4 Juzgará los pobres del pueblo, salvará los hijos del menesteroso, y quebrantará al violento.
The weak may he help to their rights, may he save the sons of the needy and crush the oppressor in pieces.
5 Te temerán con el sol y antes de la luna, por generación de generaciones.
May he live as long as the sun, while the moon shines – for ages and ages.
6 Descenderá como la lluvia sobre la hierba cortada; como el rocío que destila sobre la tierra.
May he be like the rain on the meadow, like showers that water the earth.
7 Florecerá en sus días justicia, y muchedumbre de paz, hasta que no haya luna.
In his days may justice flourish, and welfare abound, till the moon be no more.
8 Y dominará de mar a mar, y desde el río hasta los confines de la tierra.
May he reign from ocean to ocean, from the river to the ends of the earth.
9 Delante de él se postrarán los etíopes; y sus enemigos lamerán la tierra.
May his foes bow down before him, his enemies lick the dust.
10 Los reyes de Tarsis y de las islas traerán presentes; los reyes de Sabá y de Seba ofrecerán dones.
May tribute be rendered by kings of the isles and of Tarshish; may gifts be brought by the kings of Sheba and Seba.
11 Y se arrodillarán a él todos los reyes; le servirán todos los gentiles.
May all kings fall prostrate before him, and all nations yield him their service.
12 Porque él librará al menesteroso que clamare, y al pobre que no tuviere quién le socorra.
For he saves the poor when he cries, the helpless and the downtrodden.
13 Tendrá misericordia del pobre y del menesteroso, y salvará las almas de los pobres en espíritu.
He pities the weak and the poor, he saves the lives of the poor.
14 De engaño y de fraude redimirá sus almas; y la sangre de ellos será preciosa en sus ojos.
He redeems them from wrong and from violence, for dear is their blood in his sight.
15 Y vivirá, y se le dará del oro de Sabá; y se orará por él continuamente; cada día le echará bendiciones.
Long may he live; and may gold of Sheba be given him; prayer, too, be made for him ceaselessly, all the day long may men bless him.
16 Será echado un puño de grano en tierra, en las cumbres de los montes; su fruto hará estruendo como el Líbano, y desde la ciudad verdecerán como la hierba de la tierra.
May the land have abundance of corn, to the tops of the hills may it wave. May the fruit thereof flourish like Lebanon, may men spring from the city like grass of the earth.
17 Será su Nombre para siempre, delante del sol será propagado su Nombre; y bendecirán en él todos los gentiles; lo llamarán bienaventurado.
May his name be blessed forever, may his fame endure as the sun. May all nations envy his blessedness, all tribes of the earth call him happy.
18 Bendito el SEÑOR Dios, el Dios de Israel, el único que hace maravillas.
Blest be the Lord God, Israel’s God, who alone does wonders;
19 Y bendito su Nombre glorioso para siempre; y toda la tierra sea llena de su gloria. Amén y Amén.
And blest be forever his glorious name. Let all the earth be filled with his glory. Amen and Amen.
