Proverbios 10
1 (Las parábolas de Salomón.) El hijo sabio alegra al padre; y el hijo loco es tristeza a su madre.
The parablis of Salomon. A wijs sone makith glad the fadir; but a fonned sone is the sorewe of his modir.
2 Los tesoros de maldad no serán de provecho; mas la justicia libra de la muerte.
Tresouris of wickidnesse schulen not profite; but riytfulnesse schal delyuere fro deth.
3 El SEÑOR no dejará hambrear el alma del justo; mas la iniquidad lanzará a los impíos.
The Lord schal not turmente the soule of a iust man with hungur; and he schal distrie the tresouns of vnpitouse men.
4 La mano negligente hace pobre; mas la mano de los diligentes enriquece.
A slow hond hath wrouyt nedynesse; but the hond of stronge men makith redi richessis. Forsothe he that enforsith to gete `ony thing bi leesyngis, fedith the wyndis; sotheli the same man sueth briddis fleynge.
5 El que recoge en el verano es hijo entendido; el que duerme en el tiempo de la siega es hijo que avergüenza.
He that gaderith togidere in heruest, is a wijs sone; but he that slepith in sommer, is a sone of confusioun.
6 Bendita es la cabeza del justo; mas la boca de los impíos cubre la iniquidad.
The blessing of God is ouer the heed of a iust man; but wickidnesse hilith the mouth of wickid men.
7 La memoria del justo será bendita; mas el nombre de los impíos hederá.
The mynde of a iust man schal be with preisingis; and the name of wickid men schal wexe rotun.
8 El sabio de corazón recibirá los mandamientos; mas el que habla locuras caerá.
A wijs man schal resseyue comaundementis with herte; a fool is betun with lippis.
9 El que camina en integridad, anda confiado; mas el que pervierte sus caminos, será quebrantado.
He that goith simpli, goith tristili; but he that makith schrewid hise weies, schal be opyn.
10 El que guiña el ojo acarrea tristeza; y el que habla locuras caerá.
He that bekeneth with the iye, schal yyue sorewe; a fool schal be betun with lippis.
11 Vena de vida es la boca del justo; mas la boca de los impíos cubre la iniquidad.
The veyne of lijf is the mouth of a iust man; but the mouth of wickid men hilith wickidnesse.
12 El odio despierta las rencillas; mas la caridad cubre todas las maldades.
Hatrede reisith chidingis; and charite hilith alle synnes.
13 En los labios del prudente se halla sabiduría; y es vara a las espaldas del falto de entendimiento.
Wisdom is foundun in the lippis of a wise man; and a yerd in the bak of him that is nedi of herte.
14 Los sabios guardan la sabiduría; mas la boca del loco es calamidad cercana.
Wise men hiden kunnyng; but the mouth of a fool is nexte to confusioun.
15 Las riquezas del rico son su ciudad fuerte; y el desmayo de los pobres es su pobreza.
The catel of a riche man is the citee of his strengthe; the drede of pore men is the nedynesse of hem.
16 La obra del justo es para vida; mas el fruto del impío es para pecado.
The werk of a iust man is to lijf; but the fruyt of a wickid man is to synne.
17 Camino a la vida es guardar el castigo; mas el que deja la reprensión, yerra.
The weie of lijf is to him that kepith chastising; but he that forsakith blamyngis, errith.
18 El que encubre el odio es de labios mentirosos; y el que echa mala fama es loco.
False lippis hiden hatrede; he that bringith forth dispisinge is vnwijs.
19 En las muchas palabras no falta rebelión; mas el que refrena sus labios es prudente.
Synne schal not faile in myche spekyng; but he that mesurith hise lippis, is moost prudent.
20 Plata escogida es la lengua del justo; mas el entendimiento ( o corazón ) de los impíos es como nada.
Chosun siluer is the tunge of a iust man; the herte of wickid men is for nouyt.
21 Los labios del justo apacientan a muchos; mas los locos con falta de entendimiento mueren.
The lippis of a iust man techen ful manye men; but thei that ben vnlerned, schulen die in nedinesse of herte.
22 La bendición del SEÑOR es la que enriquece, y no añade tristeza con ella.
The blessing of the Lord makith riche men; and turment schal not be felowschipid to hem.
23 Hacer abominación es como risa al loco; mas la sabiduría recrea al varón de entendimiento.
A fool worchith wickidnesse as bi leiyyng; but `wisdom is prudence to a man.
24 Lo que el impío teme, eso le vendrá; mas Dios da a los justos lo que desean.
That that a wickid man dredith, schal come on hym; the desire of iust men schalbe youun to hem.
25 Cuando pasare el torbellino, el malo no será; mas el justo, fundado para siempre.
As a tempeste passynge, a wickid man schal not be; but a iust man schal be as an euerlastynge foundement.
26 Como el vinagre a los dientes, y como el humo a los ojos, así es el perezoso a los que lo envían.
As vynegre noieth the teeth, and smoke noieth the iyen; so a slow man noieth hem that senten hym in the weie.
27 El temor del SEÑOR aumentará los días; mas los años de los impíos serán acortados.
The drede of the Lord encreesith daies; and the yeeris of wickid men schulen be maad schort.
28 La esperanza de los justos es alegría; mas la esperanza de los impíos perecerá.
Abiding of iust men is gladnesse; but the hope of wickid men schal perische.
29 El camino del SEÑOR es fortaleza al perfecto; pero es espanto a los que obran maldad.
The strengthe of a symple man is the weie of the Lord; and drede to hem that worchen yuel.
30 El justo eternalmente no será removido; mas los impíos no habitarán la tierra.
A iust man schal not be moued with outen ende; but wickid men schulen not dwelle on the erthe.
31 La boca del justo producirá sabiduría; mas la lengua perversa será cortada.
The mouth of a iust man schal bringe forth wisdom; the tunge of schrewis schal perische.
32 Los labios del justo conocerán la voluntad de Dios; mas la boca de los impíos habla perversidades.
The lippis of a iust man biholden pleasaunt thingis; and the mouth of wickid men byholdith weiward thingis.
