Números 32
1 Y los hijos de Rubén y los hijos de Gad tenían muchísimo ganado; los cuales viendo la tierra de Jazer y de Galaad, les pareció el lugar, lugar de ganado.
And much livestock has [belonged] to the sons of Reuben and to the sons of Gad—very many; and they see the land of Jazer and the land of Gilead, and behold, the place [is] a place [for] livestock;
2 Y vinieron los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén, y hablaron a Moisés, y a Eleazar el sacerdote, y a los príncipes de la congregación, diciendo:
and the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben come in and speak to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and to the princes of the congregation, saying,
3 Atarot, y Dibón, y Jazer, y Nimra, y Hesbón, y Eleale, y Sebam, y Nebo, y Beón,
“Ataroth, and Dibon, and Jazer, and Nimrah, and Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Shebam, and Nebo, and Beon,
4 la tierra que el SEÑOR hirió delante de la congregación de Israel, es tierra de ganado, y tus siervos tienen ganado.
the land which YHWH has struck before the congregation of Israel, is a land for livestock, and your servants have livestock.”
5 Por tanto, dijeron, si hallamos gracia en tus ojos, dése esta tierra a tus siervos en heredad, y no nos hagas pasar el Jordán.
And they say, “If we have found grace in your eyes, let this land be given to your servants for a possession; cause us not to pass over the Jordan.”
6 Y respondió Moisés a los hijos de Gad y a los hijos de Rubén: ¿Vendrán vuestros hermanos a la guerra, y vosotros os quedaréis aquí?
And Moses says to the sons of Gad and to the sons of Reuben, “Do your brothers go to the battle, and you—do you sit here?
7 ¿Y por qué desanimáis el corazón de los hijos de Israel, para que no pasen a la tierra que les ha dado el SEÑOR?
And why discourage the heart of the sons of Israel from passing over to the land which YHWH has given to them?
8 Así hicieron vuestros padres, cuando los envié desde Cades-barnea para que viesen la tierra.
Thus your fathers did in my sending them from Kadesh-Barnea to see the land;
9 Cuando subieron hasta la arroyada de Escol, y vieron la tierra desanimaron el corazón de los hijos de Israel, para no venir a la tierra que el SEÑOR les había dado.
and they go up to the Valley of Eshcol, and see the land, and discourage the heart of the sons of Israel so as not to go into the land which YHWH has given to them;
10 Y el furor del SEÑOR se encendió entonces, y juró diciendo:
and the anger of YHWH burns in that day, and He swears, saying,
11 Que no verán los varones que subieron de Egipto de veinte años arriba, la tierra por la cual juré a Abraham, Isaac, y Jacob, por cuanto no fueron perfectos en pos de mí;
They do not see—the men who are coming up out of Egypt from a son of twenty years and upward—the ground which I have sworn to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, for they have not been fully after Me,
12 excepto Caleb, hijo de Jefone cenezeo, y Josué hijo de Nun, que fueron perfectos en pos del SEÑOR.
except Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenezite and Joshua son of Nun, for they have been fully after YHWH;
13 Y el furor del SEÑOR se encendió en Israel, y los hizo andar errantes cuarenta años por el desierto, hasta que fue acabada toda aquella generación, que había hecho mal delante del SEÑOR.
and the anger of YHWH burns against Israel, and He causes them to wander in the wilderness [for] forty years, until the consumption of all the generation which is doing evil in the eyes of YHWH.
14 Y he aquí, vosotros habéis levantado en lugar de vuestros padres, prole de hombres pecadores, para añadir aún a la ira del SEÑOR contra Israel.
And behold, you have risen in the stead of your fathers, an increase of sinful men, to add yet to the fury of the anger of YHWH toward Israel;
15 Si os volviereis de en pos de él, él volverá otra vez a dejaros en el desierto, y echaréis a perder a todo este pueblo.
when you turn back from after Him, then He has added yet to leave him in the wilderness, and you have done corruptly to all this people.”
16 Entonces ellos vinieron a él y dijeron: Edificaremos aquí majadas para nuestro ganado, y ciudades para nuestros niños;
And they come near to him and say, “We build folds for the flock here for our livestock, and cities for our infants;
17 y nosotros nos armaremos, e iremos con diligencia delante de los hijos de Israel, hasta que los metamos en su lugar; y nuestros niños quedarán en ciudades fuertes a causa de los moradores de la tierra.
but we are armed, hastening before the sons of Israel until we have brought them to their place; and our infants have dwelt in the cities of defense because of the inhabitants of the land;
18 No volveremos a nuestras casas hasta que los hijos de Israel posean cada uno su heredad.
we do not return to our houses until the sons of Israel have each inherited his inheritance,
19 Porque no tomaremos heredad con ellos al otro lado del Jordán ni adelante, por cuanto tendremos ya nuestra heredad de este lado del Jordán al oriente.
for we do not inherit with them across the Jordan and beyond, for our inheritance has come to us beyond the Jordan at the [sun]-rising.”
20 Entonces les respondió Moisés: Si lo hiciereis así, si os apercibiereis para ir delante del SEÑOR a la guerra,
And Moses says to them, “If you do this thing, if you are armed before YHWH for battle,
21 y pasaréis todos vosotros armados el Jordán delante del SEÑOR, hasta que haya echado a sus enemigos de delante de sí,
and every armed one of you has passed over the Jordan before YHWH, until His dispossessing His enemies from before Him,
22 y que la tierra sea sojuzgada delante del SEÑOR; luego volveréis, y seréis libres de culpa para con el SEÑOR, y para con Israel; y esta tierra será vuestra en heredad delante del SEÑOR.
and the land has been subdued before YHWH, then afterward you return, and have been acquitted by YHWH and by Israel, and this land has been to you for a possession before YHWH.
23 Mas si así no lo hiciereis, he aquí habréis pecado al SEÑOR; y sabed que vuestro pecado os alcanzará.
And if you do not do so, behold, you have sinned against YHWH, and know that your sin finds you;
24 Edificaos ciudades para vuestros niños, y majadas para vuestras ovejas, y haced lo que ha salido de vuestra boca.
build for yourselves cities for your infants and folds for your flock, and that which is going out from your mouth you do.”
25 Y hablaron los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén a Moisés, diciendo: Tus siervos harán como mi señor ha mandado.
And the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben speak to Moses, saying, “Your servants do as my lord is commanding;
26 Nuestros niños, nuestras mujeres, nuestros ganados, y todas nuestras bestias, estarán ahí en las ciudades de Galaad;
our infants, our wives, our livestock, and all our beasts, are there in cities of Gilead,
27 y tus siervos, armados todos de guerra, pasarán delante del SEÑOR a la guerra, de la manera que nuestro señor dice.
and your servants pass over, every armed one of the host, before YHWH, to battle, as my lord is saying.”
28 Entonces los encomendó Moisés a Eleazar el sacerdote, y a Josué hijo de Nun, y a los príncipes de los padres de las tribus de los hijos de Israel.
And Moses commands Eleazar the priest, and Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel concerning them;
29 Y les dijo Moisés: Si los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén, pasaren con vosotros el Jordán, armados todos de guerra delante del SEÑOR, luego que la tierra fuere sojuzgada delante de vosotros, les daréis la tierra de Galaad en posesión.
and Moses says to them, “If the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben pass over the Jordan with you, everyone armed for battle, before YHWH, and the land has been subdued before you, then you have given the land of Gilead to them for a possession;
30 Mas si no pasaren armados con vosotros, entonces tendrán posesión entre vosotros en la tierra de Canaán.
and if they do not pass over armed with you, then they have possessions in your midst in the land of Canaan.”
31 Y los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén respondieron, diciendo: Haremos lo que el SEÑOR ha dicho a tus siervos.
And the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben answer, saying, “That which YHWH has spoken to your servants, so we do;
32 Nosotros pasaremos armados delante del SEÑOR a la tierra de Canaán, y la posesión de nuestra heredad será de este lado del Jordán.
we pass over armed before YHWH [to] the land of Canaan, and with us [is] the possession of our inheritance beyond the Jordan.”
33 Así les dio Moisés a los hijos de Gad y a los hijos de Rubén, y a la media tribu de Manasés hijo de José, el reino de Sehón rey amorreo, y el reino de Og rey de Basán, la tierra con sus ciudades y términos, las ciudades de la tierra alrededor.
And Moses gives to them—to the sons of Gad, and to the sons of Reuben, and to the half of the tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph—the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorite and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land by its cities, in the borders, the cities of the surrounding land.
34 Y los hijos de Gad edificaron a Dibón, y a Atarot, y a Aroer,
And the sons of Gad build Dihon, and Ataroth, and Aroer,
35 y a Atarot-sofán, y a Jazer, y a Jogbeha,
and Atroth, Shophan, and Jaazer, and Jogbehah,
36 y a Bet-nimra, y a Bet-arán, ciudades fuertes, y también majadas para ovejas.
and Beth-Nimrah, and Beth-Haran, cities of defense, and sheepfolds.
37 Y los hijos de Rubén edificaron a Hesbón, y a Eleale, y a Quiriataim,
And the sons of Reuben have built Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Kirjathaim,
38 y a Nebo, y a Baal-meón, (mudados los nombres), y a Sibma, y pusieron nombres a las ciudades que edificaron.
and Nebo, and Ba‘al-Meon (changed in name), and Shibmah, and they call the names of the cities which they have built by [these] names.
39 Y los hijos de Maquir hijo de Manasés fueron a Galaad, y la tomaron, y echaron al amorreo que estaba en ella.
And sons of Machir son of Manasseh go to Gilead, and capture it, and dispossess the Amorite who [is] in it;
40 Y Moisés dio Galaad a Maquir hijo de Manasés, el cual habitó en ella.
and Moses gives Gilead to Machir son of Manasseh, and he dwells in it.
41 También Jair hijo de Manasés fue y tomó sus aldeas, y les puso por nombre Havot-jair.
And Jair son of Manasseh has gone and captures their towns, and calls them “Towns of Jair”;
42 Asimismo Noba fue y tomó a Kenat y sus aldeas, y lo llamó Noba, conforme a su nombre.
and Nobah has gone and captures Kenath and its villages, and calls it Nobah, by his own name.
