Malaquías 2

1 Ahora, pues, oh sacerdotes, para vosotros es este mandamiento.

And now, this commandment is for you, O ye priests.

2 Si no oyereis, y si no acordareis dar gloria a mi Nombre, dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, enviaré maldición sobre vosotros, y maldeciré vuestras bendiciones; y aun las he maldecido, porque no lo ponéis en vuestro corazón.

If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the Lord of hosts: I will even send out against you a curse, and I will curse your blessings; yea, I will curse the same, because ye do not lay it to heart.

3 He aquí, reprendo su simiente, y esparciré el estiércol sobre vuestros rostros, el estiércol de vuestras solemnidades, y con él seréis removidos.

Behold, I will destroy unto you the seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your festive offerings; and one shall take you away with it.

4 Y sabréis que yo os envié este mandamiento, haciendo mi pacto con Leví, dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos.

And ye shall thereby know that I have sent out unto you this commandment, that my covenant might be with Levi, saith the Lord of hosts.

5 Mi pacto fue con él de vida y de paz, las cuales cosas yo le di por el temor; porque me temió, y delante de mi Nombre fue quebrantado.

My covenant was with him life and peace; and I gave them to him for the fear wherewith he feared me, and because of my name he had dread.

6 La Ley de Verdad estuvo en su boca, e iniquidad nunca fue hallada en sus labios; en paz y en justicia anduvo conmigo, y de la iniquidad hizo apartar a muchos.

The law of truth was in his mouth, and falsehood was not found on his lips: in peace and equity he walked with me, and many did he turn away from iniquity.

7 Porque los labios del sacerdote guardan la sabiduría, y de su boca buscarán la ley; porque ángel es del SEÑOR de los ejércitos.

For the priest's lips are ever to keep knowledge, and the law are they to seek from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.

8 Mas vosotros os habéis apartado del camino; habéis hecho tropezar a muchos en la ley; habéis corrompido el pacto de Leví, dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos.

But ye are indeed departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble in the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of the Levite, saith the Lord of hosts.

9 Por tanto, yo también os torné viles y bajos a todo el pueblo, como vosotros no guardasteis mis caminos, y en la ley tenéis acepción de personas.

Therefore have I also made you contemptible and low before all the people, in the same measure as ye do not keep my ways, but act with partiality in the law.

10 ¿No tenemos todos un mismo padre? ¿No nos ha criado un mismo Dios? ¿Por qué menospreciaremos cada uno a su hermano, quebrantando el pacto de nuestros padres?

Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? [then] why shall we deal treacherously every man against his brother, to profane the covenant of our fathers?

11 Prevaricó Judá, y en Israel y en Jerusalén ha sido cometida abominación; porque Judá ha profanado la santidad del SEÑOR amando, y casándose con hija de dios extraño.

Judah hath dealt treacherously, and an abomination hath been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath profaned the sanctuary of the Lord which he loveth, and hath married the daughter of a strange god.

12 El SEÑOR talará de las tiendas de Jacob al hombre que hiciere esto, al maestro, y al estudiante, y al que ofrece presente al SEÑOR de los ejércitos.

The Lord will cut off unto the man that doth this, son and grandson, out of the tents of Jacob, and him that bringeth near an offering unto the Lord of hosts.

13 Y esta otra vez haréis cubrir el altar del SEÑOR de lágrimas, de llanto, y de clamor; porque yo no miraré más al presente, para tomar ofrenda voluntaria de vuestra mano.

And this do ye secondly, covering the altar of the Lord with tears, with weeping and with loud complaint, so that he turneth not any more his regard to the offerings, nor receiveth it with favor at your hand.

14 Y diréis: ¿Por qué? Porque el SEÑOR ha atestiguado entre ti y la mujer de tu juventud, contra la cual tú has sido desleal, siendo ella tu compañera, y la mujer de tu pacto.

Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the Lord hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast indeed dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.

15 ¿No hizo él uno, habiendo en él abundancia de Espíritu? ¿Y por qué uno? Procurando simiente de Dios. Guardaos, pues, en vuestro espíritu, y contra la mujer de vuestra mocedad no seáis desleales.

And not one doth so who hath a remnant of a [good] spirit; for what desireth such a one? he seeketh [to possess] a godly posterity: therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none of you deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.

16 El que la aborrece enviándola, dijo el SEÑOR Dios de Israel, cubre la iniquidad con su vestido, dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos. Guardaos pues en vuestro espíritu, y no seáis desleales.

For he hateth putting away [the wife], so hath said the Lord the God of Israel, and him who covereth his garment with violence, so hath said the Lord of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, and deal not treacherously.

17 Habéis hecho cansar al SEÑOR con vuestras palabras. Y diréis: ¿En qué le hemos cansado? Cuando decís: Cualquiera que mal hace agrada al SEÑOR, y en los tales toma contentamiento; de otra manera, ¿dónde está el Dios de juicio?

Ye have wearied the Lord with your words: yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? By your saying, Every one that doth evil is good in the eyes of the Lord, and in them he findeth delight; or else, Where is the God of justice!
