San Lucas 8
1 Y aconteció después, que él caminaba por todas las ciudades y aldeas, predicando y anunciando el Evangelio del Reino de Dios, y los doce con él,
And it came to pass afterward, that he journeyed through cities and villages, preaching and publishing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God; and the twelve were with him,
2 y algunas mujeres que habían sido curadas por él de malos espíritus y de enfermedades: María, que se llamaba Magdalena, de la cual habían salido siete demonios,
and certain women who had been cured of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons,
3 y Juana, mujer de Chuza, procurador de Herodes, y Susana, y otras muchas que le servían de sus haciendas.
and Joanna, the wife of Chuzas, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, who afforded them aid from their substance.
4 Y como se juntó una grande compañía, y los que estaban en cada ciudad vinieron a él, dijo por una parábola:
And a great multitude collecting together, and people from the cities going out to him, he spoke by a parable:
5 Uno que sembraba, salió a sembrar su simiente; y sembrando, una parte cayó junto al camino, y fue hollada; y las aves del cielo la comieron.
A sower went forth to sow his seed; and as he sowed, some seeds fell by the way-side; and they were trodden down, and the birds of the air devoured them.
6 Otra parte cayó sobre la piedra; y nacida, se secó, porque no tenía humedad.
And others fell upon rocky ground; and when they had sprung up they withered away, because they had no moisture.
7 Otra parte cayó entre las espinas; y naciendo las espinas juntamente, la ahogaron.
And others fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up with them, and choked them.
8 Y otra parte cayó en buena tierra, y cuando fue nacida, llevó fruto a ciento por uno. Diciendo estas cosas clamaba: El que tiene oídos para oír, oiga.
And others fell upon good ground, and sprung up, and bore fruit, a hundred-fold. While saying these things, he cried aloud, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
9 Y sus discípulos le preguntaron, diciendo, qué era ésta parábola.
And his disciples asked him what this parable meant.
10 Y él dijo: A vosotros es dado conocer los misterios del Reino de Dios; mas a los otros por parábolas, para que viendo no vean, y oyendo no entiendan.
And he said, To you it hath been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God; but to others [[these things are spoken]] in parables; that while seeing they may not see, and while hearing they may not understand.
11 Es pues ésta la parábola: La simiente es la palabra de Dios.
Now the meaning of the parable is this. The seed is the word of God.
12 Y los de junto al camino, éstos son los que oyen; y luego viene el diablo, y quita la palabra de su corazón, para que no se salven creyendo.
Those by the way-side are they that hear; then cometh the Devil and taketh away the word from their heart, that they may not believe and be saved.
13 Y los de sobre la piedra, son los que habiendo oído, reciben la palabra con gozo; mas éstos no tienen raíces; que a tiempo creen, y en el tiempo de la tentación se apartan.
Those on the rocky ground are they who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root; and for a while they believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
14 Y la que cayó entre las espinas, éstos son los que oyeron; mas yéndose, son ahogados de los cuidados y de las riquezas y de los pasatiempos de la vida, y no llevan fruto a perfección.
And those seeds which fell among the thorns, these are they who, when they have heard, go away and are choked with the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
15 Y la que en buena tierra, éstos son los que con corazón bueno y recto retienen la palabra oída, y llevan fruto en paciencia.
But the seeds on the good ground, these are they who in an honest and good heart, when they have heard the word, hold it fast, and bear fruit with constancy.
16 Ninguno que enciende la lámpara lo cubre con vasija, o lo pone debajo de la cama; mas lo pone en un candelero, para que los que entren vean la luz.
And no one having lighted a lamp, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a lampstand, that those who come in may see the light.
17 Porque no hay cosa oculta, que no haya de ser manifestada; ni cosa escondida, que no haya de ser entendida, y de venir a luz.
For nothing is secret, that will not be made manifest; nor hidden, that will not be known, and come to light.
18 Mirad pues cómo oís; porque a cualquiera que tuviere, le será dado; y a cualquiera que no tuviere, aun lo que parece tener le será quitado.
Take heed therefore how ye hear; for whoever hath, to him will be given; and whoever hath not, from him will be taken even what he seemeth to have.
19 Y vinieron a él su madre y hermanos; y no podían llegar a él por causa de la multitud.
And his mother and his brothers came where he was, and could not get to him on account of the crowd.
20 Y le fue dado aviso, diciendo: Tu madre y tus hermanos están fuera, que quieren verte.
And word was brought to him, Thy mother and thy brothers stand without, desiring to see thee.
21 El entonces respondiendo, les dijo: Mi madre y mis hermanos son los que oyen mi palabra, y la hacen.
And he answering said to them, My mother and my brothers are these, who hear the word of God, and do it.
22 Y aconteció un día que él entró en un barco con sus discípulos, y les dijo: Pasemos al otro lado del lago. Y partieron.
Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a boat with his disciples, and said to them, Let us go over to the other side of the lake; and they put off.
23 Pero mientras ellos navegaban, él se durmió. Y sobrevino una tempestad de viento en el lago; y se anegaban de agua, y peligraban.
But as they were sailing, he fell asleep. And there came down a storm of wind on the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy.
24 Y llegándose a él, le despertaron, diciendo: ¡Maestro, Maestro, que perecemos! Y despertado él, increpó al viento y a la furia del agua; y cesaron, y fue hecha grande bonanza.
And they came and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we are perishing! And he rose, and rebuked the wind, and the surging of the water; and they ceased, and there was a calm.
25 Y les dijo: ¿Qué es de vuestra fe? Y atemorizados, se maravillaban, diciendo los unos a los otros: ¿Quién es éste, que aun a los vientos y al agua manda, y le obedecen?
And he said to them, Where is your faith? And they were afraid, and wondered, saying one to another, Who then is this, that he commandeth even the winds and the water, and they obey him?
26 Y navegaron a la tierra de los gadarenos, que está delante de Galilea.
And they sailed to the country of the Gergesenes, which is over against Galilee.
27 Y saliendo él a tierra, le vino al encuentro de la ciudad un hombre que tenía demonios ya de muchos tiempos; y no vestía vestido, ni estaba en casa, sino por los sepulcros.
And when he had landed, there met him a certain man out of the city who had demons, and for a long time had worn no clothes, and abode not in a house, but in the tombs.
28 El cual, cuando vio a Jesús, exclamó y se postró delante de él, y dijo a gran voz: ¿Qué tengo yo contigo, Jesús, Hijo del Dios Altísimo? Te ruego que no me atormentes.
And seeing Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and said with a loud voice, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, Son of the most high God? I beseech thee, do not torment me.
29 (Porque mandaba al espíritu inmundo que saliese del hombre, porque ya de muchos tiempos le arrebataba; y le guardaban preso con cadenas y grillos; mas rompiendo las prisiones, era agitado del demonio por los desiertos.)
For he was about to command the unclean spirit to come out of the man; for it had possessed him for a long time, and he had been kept bound and secured with chains and fetters; and bursting the bands, he had been driven by the demon into the wilderness.
30 Y le preguntó Jesús, diciendo: ¿Qué nombre tienes? Y él dijo: Legión. Porque muchos demonios habían entrado en él.
And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion; because many demons had entered into him.
And they besought him not to command them to go away into the abyss. (Abyssos g12)
32 Y había allí un hato de muchos puercos que pacían en el monte; y le rogaron que los dejase entrar en ellos; y los dejó.
Now there was there a herd of many swine feeding on the mountain; and they besought him to permit them to go into them. And he permitted them.
33 Y salidos los demonios del hombre, entraron en los puercos; y el hato de ellos se arrojó por un despeñadero en el lago, y se ahogó.
And the demons coming out of the man went into the swine; and the herd rushed down the steep into the lake, and were drowned.
34 Y los pastores, como vieron lo que había acontecido, huyeron, y yendo dieron aviso en la ciudad y por las heredades.
And the herdsmen, seeing what was done, fled, and told the news in the city and in the country.
35 Y salieron a ver lo que había acontecido; y vinieron a Jesús, y hallaron sentado al hombre de quien habían salido los demonios, vestido, y en su juicio, a los pies de Jesús; y tuvieron miedo.
And they went out to see what had been done. And they came to Jesus and found the man from whom the demons had gone out sitting, clothed, and in his right mind, at the feet of Jesus; and they were afraid.
36 Y les contaron los que lo habían visto, cómo había sido salvado aquel endemoniado.
And they who had seen it told them how he that was possessed by demons was made well.
37 Entonces toda la multitud de la tierra de los gadarenos alrededor, le rogaron que se fuese de ellos; porque tenían gran temor. Y él, subiendo en el barco, se devolvió.
And the whole multitude in the surrounding country of the Gergesenes besought him to depart from them; for they were seized with great fear. And he went on board a boat and returned.
38 Y aquel hombre, de quien habían salido los demonios, le rogó para estar con él; mas Jesús le despidió, diciendo:
And the man out of whom the demons had gone besought him that he might be with him. But he sent him away, saying,
39 Vuélvete a tu casa, y cuenta cuán grandes cosas ha hecho Dios contigo. Y él se fue, predicando por toda la ciudad cuán grandes cosas había hecho Jesús con él.
Return to thy house, and tell what great things God hath done for thee. And he went and published through the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.
40 Y aconteció que volviendo Jesús, le recibió la multitud; porque todos le esperaban.
And it came to pass when Jesus returned, that the multitude welcomed him; for they were all waiting for him.
41 Y he aquí un varón, llamado Jairo, y que era príncipe de la sinagoga, vino, y cayendo a los pies de Jesús, le rogaba que entrase en su casa;
And lo! there came a man, named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue; and falling at the feet of Jesus, he besought him to come into his house;
42 porque tenía una hija única, como de doce años, y ella se estaba muriendo. Y yendo, le apretaba la multitud.
for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. And as he went, the multitudes thronged him.
43 Y una mujer, que tenía flujo de sangre hacía ya doce años, la cual había gastado en médicos toda su hacienda, y por ninguno había podido ser curada,
And a woman who had had an issue of blood twelve years, and had spent all her living upon physicians, and could not be cured by any one,
44 llegándose por las espaldas, tocó el borde de su vestido; y luego se estancó el flujo de su sangre.
came up behind and touched the fringe of his garment; and immediately her issue of blood ceased.
45 Entonces Jesús dijo: ¿Quién es el que me ha tocado? Y negando todos, dijo Pedro y los que estaban con él: Maestro, la multitud te aprieta y oprime, y dices: ¿Quién es el que me ha tocado?
And Jesus said, Who touched me? And when all denied it, Peter and those with him said, Master, the multitudes are thronging thee, and pressing against thee.
46 Y Jesús dijo: Me ha tocado alguien; porque yo he conocido que ha salido virtud de mí.
But Jesus said, Some one touched me; for I perceived that power went out from me.
47 Entonces, cuando la mujer vio que no se podía esconder, vino temblando, y postrándose delante de él le declaró delante de todo el pueblo la causa por qué le había tocado, y cómo luego había sido sana.
And the woman, seeing that she was discovered, came trembling, and falling down before him declared before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was cured immediately.
48 Y él dijo: Confía hija, tu fe te ha salvado; ve en paz.
And he said to her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee well; go in peace.
49 Estando aún él hablando, vino uno del príncipe de la sinagoga a decirle: Tu hija está muerta, no des trabajo al Maestro.
While he was yet speaking, there cometh one from the house of the ruler of the synagogue, saying, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Teacher any further.
50 Y oyéndolo Jesús, le respondió: No temas; cree solamente, y será salva.
But Jesus hearing this, answered him, Fear not; only believe, and she will be made well.
51 Y entrado en casa, no dejó entrar a nadie consigo, sino a Pedro, y a Jacobo, y a Juan, y al padre y a la madre de la niña.
And going into the house, he suffered no one to go in with him but Peter and John and James, and the father of the maiden, and the mother.
52 Y lloraban todos, y la plañían. Y él dijo: No lloréis; no está muerta, sino que duerme.
And all were weeping, and lamenting for her. But he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleeping.
53 Y hacían burla de él, sabiendo que estaba muerta.
And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.
54 Y él, echados todos fuera, tomándola de la mano, clamó, diciendo: Muchacha, levántate.
But he took hold of her hand, and called aloud, saying, Maiden, arise!
55 Entonces su espíritu volvió, y se levantó luego; y él mandó que le diesen de comer.
And her spirit returned, and she immediately arose. And he ordered food to be given to her.
56 Y sus padres estaban fuera de sí; a los cuales él mandó, que a nadie dijesen lo que había sido hecho.
And her parents were amazed. But he charged them to tell no one what had been done.
