1 Hubo un varón del monte de Efraín, que se llamaba Micaía.
And there was a man of the mountain of Ephraim, whose name was Michayhu.
2 El cual dijo a su madre: Los mil cien siclos de plata que te fueron hurtados, por lo que tú maldecías oyéndolo yo, he aquí que yo tengo este dinero; yo lo había tomado. Entonces la madre dijo: Bendito seas del SEÑOR, hijo mío.
And he said unto his mother, The eleven hundred shekels of silver that were taken from thee, about which thou cursedst, and spokest of also in my ears, —behold, the silver is with me; I took it. And his mother said, Blessed be my son unto the Lord.
3 Y luego que él hubo vuelto a su madre los mil cien siclos de plata, su madre dijo: Yo he dedicado este dinero al SEÑOR de mi mano para ti, hijo mío, para que hagas una imagen de talla o de fundición; ahora, pues, yo te lo devuelvo.
And he restored the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother; and his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the silver unto the Lord from my hand, for my son, to make a graven and molten image; and now I will give it back unto thee.
4 Mas volviendo él a su madre el dinero, tomó su madre doscientos siclos de plata, y los dio al fundidor; y él le hizo de ellos una imagen de talla y de fundición, la cual fue puesta en casa de Micaía.
Yet he gave the money back unto his mother; and his mother took two hundred shekels of silver, and gave them to the silversmith, who made thereof a graven and molten image; and it was in the house of Micah.
5 Y tuvo este hombre Micaía burdel de idolatría, y se hizo hacer efod y terafin ( los vasos, vestidos e instrumentos pertenecientes al culto idolátrico ), y consagró uno de sus hijos; y le fue por sacerdote.
And the man Micah had a house of god, and he made an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.
6 En estos días no había rey en Israel; cada uno hacía como mejor le parecía.
In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did what seemed right in his own eyes.
7 Y había un joven de Belén de Judá, de la tribu de Judá, el cual era levita; y peregrinaba allí.
And there was a young man out of Beth-lechem-judah of the family of Judah, but he was a Levite, and sojourned there.
8 Este varón se había partido de la ciudad de Belén de Judá, para ir a vivir donde hallase; y llegando al monte de Efraín, vino a casa de Micaía, para de allí hacer su camino.
And the man departed from the city, from Beth-lechem-judah, to sojourn where he could find [a place]; and he came to the mountain of Ephraim to the house of Micah, as he was pursuing his journey.
9 Y Micaía le dijo: ¿De dónde vienes? Y el levita le respondió: Soy de Belén de Judá, y voy a vivir donde hallare.
And Micah said unto him, Whence comest thou? And he said unto him, I am a Levite from Beth-lechem-judah, and I go to sojourn where I may find [a place].
10 Entonces Micaía le dijo: Quédate en mi casa, y me serás en lugar de padre y sacerdote; y yo te daré diez siclos de plata por año, y el ordinario de vestidos, y tu comida. Y el levita se quedó.
And Micah said unto him, Remain with me, and become unto me a father and a priest, and I will give thee ten shekels of silver for the year, and suitable apparel, and thy victuals. And the Levite went in.
11 Acordó, pues, el levita en morar con aquel hombre, y él lo tenía como a uno de sus hijos.
And the Levite consented to dwell with the man; and the young man was unto him as one of his sons.
12 Y Micaía consagró al levita, y aquel joven le servía de sacerdote, y estaba en casa de Micaía.
And Micah consecrated the Levite; and the young man became his priest, and remained in the house of Micah.
13 Y Micaía dijo: Ahora sé que el SEÑOR me hará bien, pues que el levita es hecho mi sacerdote.
Then said Micah, Now I know that the Lord will do me good, seeing I have obtained a Levite for priest.
