Jeremías 23
1 ¡Ay de los pastores que desperdician y derraman las ovejas de mi manada! Dijo el SEÑOR.
Woe be vnto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheepe of my pasture, saith the Lord.
2 Por tanto, así dijo el SEÑOR Dios de Israel a los pastores que apacientan mi pueblo: Vosotros derramasteis mis ovejas, y las espantasteis, y no las habéis visitado; he aquí yo visito sobre vosotros la maldad de vuestras obras, dijo el SEÑOR.
Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel vnto the pastors that feede my people, Yee haue scattered my flock and thrust them out, and haue not visited them: beholde, I will visite you for the wickednesse of your works, saith the Lord.
3 Y yo recogeré el resto de mis ovejas de todas las tierras adonde las eché, y las haré volver a sus moradas; y crecerán, y se multiplicarán.
And I will gather the remnant of my sheepe out of all countreyes, whither I had driuen them, and will bring them againe to their foldes, and they shall growe and encrease.
4 Y pondré sobre ellas pastores que las apacienten; y no temerán más, ni se amedrentarán, ni serán menoscabadas, dijo el SEÑOR.
And I will set vp shepheardes ouer them, which shall feede them: and they shall dread no more nor be afraide, neither shall any of them be lacking, saith the Lord.
5 He aquí que vienen los días, dice el SEÑOR, y despertaré a David renuevo justo, y reinará Rey, el cual será dichoso, y hará juicio y justicia en la tierra.
Behold, The dayes come, saith the Lord, that I will raise vnto Dauid a righteous branche, and a King shall reigne, and prosper, and shall execute iudgement, and iustice in the earth.
6 En sus días será salvo Judá, e Israel habitará confiado; y éste será su nombre que le llamarán: SEÑOR, JUSTICIA NUESTRA.
In his dayes Iudah shalbe saued, and Israel shall dwell safely, and this is the Name wherby they shall call him, The Lord our righteousnesse.
7 Por tanto, he aquí que vienen días, dijo el SEÑOR, y no dirán más: Vive el SEÑOR que hizo subir a los hijos de Israel de la tierra de Egipto;
Therefore behold, the dayes come, sayth the Lord, that they shall no more say, The Lord liueth, which brought vp the children of Israel out of the lande of Egypt,
8 sino: Vive el SEÑOR que hizo subir y trajo la simiente de la Casa de Israel de tierra del aquilón, y de todas las tierras adonde los eché; y habitarán en su tierra.
But the Lord liueth, which brought vp and led the seede of the house of Israel out of the North countrey and from all countryes where I had scattered them, and they shall dwell in their owne lande.
9 A causa de los profetas mi corazón está quebrantado en medio de mí, todos mis huesos tiemblan; estuve como hombre borracho, y como hombre a quien dominó el vino, delante del SEÑOR, y delante de las palabras de su Santidad.
Mine heart breaketh within mee, because of the prophets, all my bones shake: I am like a drunken man (and like a man whome wine hath ouercome) for the presence of the Lord and for his holie wordes.
10 Porque la tierra está llena de adúlteros; porque a causa del juramento la tierra está desierta; las cabañas del desierto se secaron; la carrera de ellos fue mala, y su fortaleza no derecha.
For the lande is full of adulterers, and because of othes the lande mourneth, the pleasant places of the wildernesse are dried vp, and their course is euill, and their force is not right.
11 Porque así el profeta como el sacerdote son fingidos: aun en mi Casa hallé su maldad, dijo el SEÑOR.
For both the prophet and the Priest doe wickedly: and their wickednesse haue I found in mine House, saith the Lord.
12 Por tanto, como resbaladeros en oscuridad les será su camino; serán empujados, y caerán en él; porque yo traeré mal sobre ellos, año de su visitación, dice el SEÑOR.
Wherefore their way shalbe vnto them as slipperie wayes in the darknesse: they shalbe driuen foorth and fall therein: for I will bring a plague vpon them, euen the yeere of their visitation, saith the Lord.
13 Y en los profetas de Samaria vi locura: profetizaban en Baal, e hicieron errar a mi pueblo Israel.
And I haue seene foolishnesse in the prophets of Samaria, that prophecied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to erre.
14 Y en los profetas de Jerusalén vi torpezas; cometían adulterios, y andaban por mentira, y esforzaban las manos de los malos, para que ninguno se convirtiese de su malicia; me fueron todos ellos como los moradores de Sodoma, y sus moradores como Gomorra.
I haue seene also in the prophets of Ierusalem filthines: they commit adulterie and walke in lies: they strengthen also the hands of the wicked that none can returne from his wickednesse: they are all vnto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorah.
15 Por tanto, así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos contra aquellos profetas: He aquí que yo les hago comer ajenjo, y les haré beber aguas de hiel; porque de los profetas de Jerusalén salió la hipocresía sobre toda la tierra.
Therefore thus saith the Lord of hostes concerning the prophets, Beholde, I will feede them with wormewood, and make them drinke the water of gall: for from the prophets of Ierusalem is wickednesse gone forth into all the lande.
16 Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: No escuchéis las palabras de los profetas que os profetizan; os hacen desvanecer; hablan visión de su corazón, no de la boca del SEÑOR.
Thus sayth ye Lord of hosts, Heare not the wordes of the prophets that prophecie vnto you, and teach you vanitie: they speake the vision of their owne heart, and not out of the mouth of the Lord.
17 Dicen atrevidamente a los que me aíran: El SEÑOR dijo: Paz tendréis; y a cualquiera que anda tras la imaginación de su corazón, dijeron: No vendrá mal sobre vosotros.
They say still vnto them that despise mee, The Lord hath sayde, Ye shall haue peace: and they say vnto euery one that walketh after the stubbernesse of his owne heart, No euill shall come vpon you.
18 Porque ¿quién estuvo en el secreto del SEÑOR, y vio, y oyó su palabra? ¿Quién estuvo atento a su palabra, y oyó?
For who hath stand in the counsel of the Lord that he hath perceiued and heard his word? Who hath marked his worde and heard it?
19 He aquí que la tempestad del SEÑOR saldrá con furor; y la tempestad que está aparejada, caerá sobre la cabeza de los malos.
Beholde, the tempest of the Lord goeth forth in his wrath, and a violent whirlewinde shall fall downe vpon the head of the wicked.
20 No se apartará el furor del SEÑOR, hasta tanto que haya hecho, y hasta tanto que haya cumplido los pensamientos de su corazón; en lo postrero de los días lo entenderéis con entendimiento.
The anger of the Lord shall not returne vntill he haue executed, and till he haue perfourmed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter dayes ye shall vnderstande it plainely.
21 No envié yo a aquellos profetas, y ellos corrían; yo no les hablé, y ellos profetizaban.
I haue not sent these prophets, sayth the Lord, yet they ranne; I haue not spoken to them, and yet they prophecied.
22 Y si ellos hubieran estado en mi secreto, también hubieran hecho oír mis palabras a mi pueblo; y les hubieran hecho volver de su mal camino, y de la maldad de sus obras.
But if they had stande in my counsell, and had declared my words to my people, then they should haue turned them from their euill way, and from the wickednesse of their inuentions.
23 ¿Por ventura soy yo Dios de cerca solamente, dijo el SEÑOR, y no Dios de lejos?
Am I a God at hande, saith the Lord, and not a God farre off?
24 ¿Por ventura se ocultará alguno en escondrijos que yo no lo vea, dijo el SEÑOR? ¿No lleno yo el cielo y la tierra, dijo el SEÑOR?
Can any hide him selfe in secrete places, that I shall not see him, sayth the Lord? Do not I fill heauen and earth, saieth the Lord?
25 Yo oí lo que aquellos profetas dijeron, profetizando mentira en mi nombre, diciendo: Soñé, soñé.
I haue heard what the prophets said, that prophecie lies in my Name, saying, I haue dreamed, I haue dreamed.
26 ¿Hasta cuándo será esto en el corazón de los profetas que profetizan mentira, y que profetizan el engaño de su corazón?
Howe long? Doe the prophets delite to prophecie lies, euen prophecying the deceit of their owne heart?
27 ¿No piensan cómo hacen a mi pueblo olvidarse de mi Nombre con sus sueños que cada uno cuenta a su compañero, tanto que sus padres se olvidaron de mi nombre por Baal?
Thinke they to cause my people to forget my Name by their dreames, which they tell euery man to his neyghbour, as their forefathers haue forgotten my Name for Baal?
28 El profeta con quien fuere el sueño, cuente el sueño; y con el que fuere mi palabra, cuente mi palabra verdadera. ¿Qué tiene que ver la paja con el trigo? Dijo el SEÑOR.
The prophet that hath a dreame, let him tell a dreame, and hee that hath my worde, let him speake my worde faithfully: what is the chaffe to the wheate, sayth the Lord?
29 ¿Por ventura mi palabra no es como el fuego, dice el SEÑOR, y como martillo que quebranta la piedra?
Is not my word euen like a fire, sayeth the Lord? and like an hammer, that breaketh the stone?
30 Por tanto, he aquí yo estoy contra los profetas, dice el SEÑOR, que hurtan mis palabras cada uno de su más cercano.
Therefore beholde, I will come against the prophets, saieth the Lord, that steale my word euerie one from his neighbour.
31 He aquí, yo estoy contra los profetas, dice el SEÑOR, que endulzan sus lenguas, y dicen: El dijo.
Beholde, I will come against the prophets, saith the Lord, which haue sweete tongues, and say, He saith.
32 He aquí, yo estoy contra los que profetizan sueños mentirosos, dice el SEÑOR y los contaron, e hicieron errar a mi pueblo con sus mentiras y con sus lisonjas, y yo no los envié, ni les mandé; y ningún provecho hicieron a este pueblo, dijo el SEÑOR.
Beholde, I will come against them that prophecie false dreames, saith the Lord, and doe tell them, and cause my people to erre by their lies, and by their flatteries, and I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they bring no profite vnto this people, saith the Lord.
33 Y cuando te preguntare este pueblo, o el profeta, o el sacerdote, diciendo: ¿Qué es la carga del SEÑOR? Les dirás: ¿Qué carga? Os dejaré, dijo el SEÑOR.
And when this people, or the prophet, or a Priest shall aske thee, saying, What is the burden of the Lord? thou shalt then say vnto them, What burden? I will euen forsake you, saith the Lord.
34 Y el profeta, y el sacerdote, y el pueblo, que dijere: Carga del SEÑOR; yo visitaré sobre tal hombre y sobre su casa.
And the prophet, or the Priest, or the people that shall say, The burden of the Lord, I will euen visite euerie such one, and his house.
35 Así diréis cada cual a su compañero, y cada cual a su hermano: ¿Qué respondió el SEÑOR, y qué habló el SEÑOR?
Thus shall yee say euery one to his neighbour, and euerie one to his brother, What hath the Lord answered? and what hath the Lord spoken?
36 Y nunca más os vendrá a la memoria decir: Carga del SEÑOR; porque la palabra de cada uno le será por carga; pues pervertisteis las palabras del Dios viviente, del SEÑOR de los ejércitos, Dios nuestro.
And the burden of the Lord shall yee mention no more: for euery mans worde shall bee his burden: for ye haue peruerted the words of the liuing God, the Lord of hostes our God.
37 Así dirás al profeta: ¿Qué te respondió el SEÑOR, y qué habló el SEÑOR?
Thus shalt thou say to the Prophet, What hath the Lord answered thee? and what hath the Lord spoken?
38 Mas si dijereis: Carga del SEÑOR; por eso así dijo el SEÑOR: Porque dijisteis esta palabra, Carga del SEÑOR, habiendo enviado a vosotros, diciendo: No digáis, Carga del SEÑOR;
And if you say, The burden of the Lord, Then thus saith the Lord, Because yee say this word, The burden of the Lord, and I haue sent vnto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of the Lord,
39 por tanto, he aquí que yo os echaré en olvido, y os arrancaré de mi presencia, y a la ciudad que os di a vosotros y a vuestros padres;
Therefore beholde, I, euen I will vtterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the citie that I gaue you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence,
40 y pondré sobre vosotros afrenta perpetua, y confusiones eternas que nunca las desarraiga el olvido.
And will bring an euerlasting reproche vpon you, and a perpetual shame which shall neuer be forgotten.
