Jeremías 13
1 Así me dijo el SEÑOR: Ve, y cómprate un cinto de lino, y cíñelo sobre tus lomos, y no lo meterás en agua.
Thus sayth the Lord vnto mee, Goe, and buy thee a linen girdle, and put it vpon thy loynes, and put it not in water.
2 Y compré el cinto conforme a la palabra del SEÑOR, y lo puse sobre mis lomos.
So I bought the girdle according to the commandement of the Lord, and put it vpon my loynes.
3 Y vino a mí segunda vez palabra del SEÑOR, diciendo:
And the worde of the Lord came vnto me the second time, saying,
4 Toma el cinto que compraste, que está sobre tus lomos, y levántate, y ve al Eufrates, y escóndelo allá en una caverna de una peña.
Take the girdle that thou hast bought, which is vpon thy loynes, and arise, goe towarde Perath, and hide it there in the cleft of the rocke.
5 Y fui, y lo escondí en el Eufrates, como el SEÑOR me mandó.
So I went, and hid it by Perath, as the Lord had commanded me.
6 Y sucedió que al cabo de muchos días me dijo el SEÑOR: Levántate, y ve al Eufrates, y toma de allí el cinto que te mandé escondieses allá.
And after many dayes, the Lord sayde vnto mee, Arise, goe towarde Perath, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.
7 Entonces fui al Eufrates, y cavé, y tomé el cinto del lugar donde lo había escondido; y he aquí que el cinto se había podrido; para ninguna cosa era bueno.
Then went I to Perath, and digged, and tooke the girdle from the place where I had hid it, and behold, the girdle was corrupt, and was profitable for nothing.
8 Y vino palabra del SEÑOR a mí, diciendo:
Then the word of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
9 Así dijo el SEÑOR: Así haré podrir la soberbia de Judá, y la mucha soberbia de Jerusalén,
Thus sayth the Lord, After this maner will I destroy the pride of Iudah, and the great pride of Ierusalem.
10 A este pueblo malo, que no quiere oír mis palabras, que anda en las imaginaciones de su corazón, y se fue en pos de dioses ajenos para servirles, y para encorvarse a ellos; y vendrá a ser como este cinto, que para ninguna cosa es bueno.
This wicked people haue refused to heare my word, and walke after ye stubbernesse of their owne heart, and walke after other gods to serue them, and to worship them: therefore they shalbe as this girdle, which is profitable to nothing.
11 Porque como el cinto se junta a los lomos del hombre, así hice juntar a mí toda la Casa de Israel y toda la Casa de Judá, dice el SEÑOR, para que me fuesen por pueblo y por fama, y por alabanza y por honra; pero no escucharon.
For as the girdle cleaueth to the loynes of a man, so haue I tied to me the whole house of Israel, and the whole house of Iudah, saith the Lord, that they might bee my people: that they might haue a name and prayse, and glory, but they would not heare.
12 Les dirás, pues, esta palabra: Así dijo el SEÑOR, Dios de Israel: Se llenará de vino todo odre. Y ellos te dirán: ¿Por ventura no sabemos que todo odre se llenará de vino?
Therefore thou shalt saye vnto them this word, Thus sayth the Lord God of Israel, Euery bottell shalbe filled with wine, and they shall say vnto thee, Doe we not knowe that euery bottell shalbe filled with wine?
13 Entonces les has de decir: Así dijo el SEÑOR: He aquí que yo lleno de embriaguez a todos los moradores de esta tierra, y a los reyes que están sentados por David sobre su trono, y a los sacerdotes y los profetas, y todos a los moradores de Jerusalén;
Then shalt thou say vnto them, Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, euen the Kings that sit vpon the throne of Dauid, and the Priestes and the Prophets and all the inhabitantes of Ierusalem with drunkennesse.
14 y los quebrantaré el uno con el otro, los padres con los hijos juntamente, dice el SEÑOR: no perdonaré, ni tendré piedad, ni misericordia para no destruirlos.
And I wil dash them one against another, euen the fathers and the sonnes together, sayeth the Lord: I will not spare, I will not pitie nor haue compassion, but destroy them.
15 Escuchad y oíd; no os elevéis, porque el SEÑOR habló.
Heare and giue eare, be not proude: for the Lord hath spoken it.
16 Dad gloria al SEÑOR Dios vuestro, antes que haga venir tinieblas, y antes que vuestros pies tropiecen en montes de oscuridad, y esperéis luz, y os la torne en sombra de muerte y tinieblas.
Giue glory to the Lord your God before he bring darknes, and or euer your feete stumble in the darke mountaines, and whiles you look for light, he turne it into the shadowe of death and make it as darkenesse.
17 Mas si no oyereis esto, en secreto llorará mi alma a causa de vuestra soberbia; y llorando amargamente, se desharán mis ojos en lágrimas, porque el rebaño del SEÑOR fue cautivo.
But if ye will not heare this, my soule shall weepe in secrete for your pride, and mine eye shall weepe and drop downe teares, because the Lords flocke is caried away captiue.
18 Di al rey y a la reina: Humillaos, sentaos en tierra; porque la corona de vuestra gloria bajó de vuestras cabezas.
Say vnto the King and to the Queene, Humble yourselues, sit downe, for the crowne of your glory shall come downe from your heads.
19 Las ciudades del Mediodía fueron cerradas, y no hubo quien las abriese; toda Judá fue transportada, transportada fue toda ella.
The cities of the South shall be shut vp, and no man shall open them: all Iudah shall be caried away captiue: it shall be wholy caried away captiue.
20 Alzad vuestros ojos, y ved los que vienen del aquilón; ¿dónde está el rebaño que te fue dado, el ganado de tu hermosura?
Lift vp your eyes and beholde them that come from the North: where is the flocke that was giuen thee, euen thy beautifull flocke?
21 ¿Qué dirás cuando te visitará? Porque tú les enseñaste a ser príncipes y cabeza sobre ti. ¿No te tomarán dolores como a mujer que está de parto?
What wilt thou saye, when hee shall visite thee? (for thou hast taught them to be captaines and as chiefe ouer thee) shall not sorow take thee as a woman in trauaile?
22 Cuando dijeres en tu corazón: ¿Por qué me ha sobrevenido esto? Por la enormidad de tu maldad fueron descubiertas tus faldas, fueron desnudos tus calcañares.
And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things vpon me? For the multitude of thine iniquities are thy skirts discouered and thy heeles made bare.
23 ¿Por ventura mudará el negro su pellejo, y el leopardo sus manchas? Así tampoco, podréis vosotros hacer bien, estando enseñados a hacer mal.
Can the blacke More change his skin? or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do euill.
24 Por tanto, yo los esparciré, como tamo que pasa, al viento del desierto.
Therefore will I scatter them, as the stubble that is taken away with the South winde.
25 Esta será tu suerte, la porción de tus medidas de parte mía, dijo el SEÑOR; porque te olvidaste de mí, y confiaste en la mentira.
This is thy portion, and ye part of thy measures from me, sayth the Lord, because thou hast forgotten me and trusted in lyes.
26 Yo, también, descubrí tus faldas delante de tu cara, y tu vergüenza se manifestó.
Therefore I haue also discouered thy skirts vpon thy face, that thy shame may appeare.
27 Tus adulterios, tus relinchos, la maldad de tu fornicación sobre los collados; en el mismo campo vi tus abominaciones. ¡Ay de ti, Jerusalén! ¿No serás limpia al fin? ¿Hasta cuándo pues?
I haue seene thine adulteries, and thy neiings, the filthinesse of thy whoredome on the hils in the fieldes, and thine abominations. Wo vnto thee, O Ierusalem: wilt thou not bee made cleane? when shall it once be?
