Isaías 57

1 Perece el justo, y no hay quien eche de ver; y los píos son recogidos, y no hay quien entienda que delante de la aflicción es recogido el justo.

The righteous perisheth, and no man considereth it in heart: and mercifull men are taken away, and no man vnderstandeth that the righteous is taken away from the euill to come.

2 Vendrá la paz, descansarán sobre sus camas todos los que andan delante de él.

Peace shall come: they shall rest in their beds, euery one that walketh before him.

3 Y vosotros, llegaos acá, hijos de la agorera; generación del adúltero y de la fornicaria.

But you witches children, come hither, the seede of the adulterer and of the whore.

4 ¿De quién os habéis burlado? ¿Contra quién ensanchasteis la boca, y alargasteis la lengua? ¿No sois vosotros hijos rebeldes, simiente mentirosa,

On whome haue ye iested? vpon whome haue ye gaped and thrust out your tongue? are not ye rebellious children, and a false seede?

5 que os enfervorizáis con los ídolos debajo de todo árbol umbroso, que sacrificáis los hijos en los valles, debajo de los peñascos?

Inflamed with idoles vnder euery greene tree? and sacrificing the children in the valleys vnder the tops of the rocks?

6 En las pulimentadas piedras del valle está tu parte; ellas, ellas son tu suerte; y a ellas derramaste libación, y ofreciste presente. ¿No me tengo de vengar de estas cosas?

Thy portion is in the smooth stones of the riuer: they, they are thy lot: euen to them hast thou powred a drinke offering: thou hast offered a sacrifice. Should I delite in these?

7 Sobre el monte alto y empinado pusiste tu cama; allí también subiste a hacer sacrificio.

Thou hast made thy bed vpon a very hie mountaine: thou wentest vp thither, euen thither wentest thou to offer sacrifice.

8 Y tras la puerta y el umbral pusiste tu recuerdo; porque a otro y no a mí te descubriste, y subiste, y ensanchaste tu cama, e hiciste con ellos alianza; amaste su cama dondequiera que la veías.

Behinde the doores also and postes hast thou set vp thy remembrance: for thou hast discouered thy selfe to another then me, and wentest vp, and diddest enlarge thy bed, and make a couenant betweene thee and them, and louedst their bed in euery place where thou sawest it.

9 Y fuiste al rey con ungüento, y multiplicaste tus perfumes, y enviaste tus embajadores lejos, y te abatiste hasta lo profundo. (Sheol h7585)

Thou wentest to the Kings with oyle, and diddest increase thine oyntments and sende thy messengers farre off, and diddest humble thy selfe vnto hell. (Sheol h7585)

10 En la multitud de tus caminos te cansaste; mas no dijiste: No hay remedio; hallaste lo que buscabas, por tanto no te arrepentiste.

Thou weariedst thy selfe in thy manifolde iourneys, yet saydest thou not, There is no hope: thou hast found life by thine hand, therefore thou wast not grieued.

11 ¿Y a quién reverenciaste y temiste? ¿Por qué mientes; que no te has acordado de mí, ni te vino al pensamiento? ¿No he disimulado desde tiempos antiguos, y nunca me has temido?

And whome diddest thou reuerence or feare, seeing thou hast lyed vnto me, and hast not remembred me, neither set thy minde thereon? is it not because I holde my peace, and that of long time? therefore thou fearest not me.

12 Yo publicaré tu justicia y tus obras, que no te aprovecharán.

I will declare thy righteousnes and thy workes, and they shall not profite thee.

13 Cuando clamares, líbrente tus allegados; pero a todos ellos llevará el viento, los tomará la vanidad; mas el que en mí espera, tendrá la tierra por heredad, y poseerá el Monte de mi santidad.

When thou cryest, let them that thou hast gathered together deliuer thee: but the winde shall take them all away: vanitie shall pull them away: but he that trusteth in me, shall inherite the lande, and shall possesse mine holy Mountaine.

14 Y dirá: Allanad, allanad; barred el camino; quitad los tropiezos del camino de mi pueblo.

And he shall say, Cast vp, cast vp: prepare the way: take vp the stumbling blocks out of the way of my people.

15 Porque así dijo el Alto y Sublime, el que habita en eternidad, y cuyo nombre es El Santo, que tengo por morada la altura y la santidad; y con el quebrantado y abatido de espíritu habito, para hacer vivir el espíritu de los abatidos, y para hacer vivir el corazón de los quebrantados.

For thus sayth he that is hie and excellent, he that inhabiteth the eternitie, whose Name is the Holy one, I dwell in the high and holy place: with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirite to reuiue the spirite of the humble, and to giue life to them that are of a contrite heart.

16 Porque no contenderé para siempre, ni para siempre enojaré; porque el espíritu por mi vistió el cuerpo, y yo hice las almas.

For I will not contende for euer, neither will I be alwayes wroth, for the spirite should fayle before me: and I haue made the breath.

17 Por la iniquidad de su codicia me enojé, y le herí; escondí mi rostro y me ensañé; y fue él rebelde por el camino de su corazón.

For his wicked couetousnesse I am angry with him, and haue smitten him: I hid mee and was angry, yet he went away, and turned after the way of his owne heart.

18 Miré sus caminos, y le sanaré, y le pastorearé, y le daré consolaciones, a él y a sus enlutados.

I haue seene his wayes, and wil heale him: I wil leade him also, and restore comfort vnto him, and to those that lament him.

19 Crío fruto de labios, paz; paz al lejano y al cercano, dijo el SEÑOR, y le sanó.

I create the fruite of the lips, to be peace: peace vnto them that are farre off, and to them that are neere, sayth the Lord: for I will heale him.

20 Mas los impíos, son como el mar en tempestad, que no puede reposar; y sus aguas arrojan cieno y lodo.

But the wicked are like the raging sea, that can not rest, whose waters cast vp myre and dirt.

21 No hay paz, dijo mi Dios, para los impíos.

There is no peace, sayth my God, to the wicked.
