Génesis 4
1 Y conoció Adán a su mujer Eva, la cual concibió y dio a luz a Caín, y dijo: He ganado varón por el SEÑOR.
And the man knew Eve his wife: and she conceived, and bore Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.
2 Y otra vez dio a luz a su hermano Abel. Y fue Abel pastor de ovejas, y Caín fue labrador de la tierra.
And she bore again, his brother, Abel; and Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
3 Y aconteció andando el tiempo, que Caín trajo del fruto de la tierra presente al SEÑOR.
And it came to pass in process of time, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground and offering unto the Lord.
4 Y Abel trajo también de los primogénitos de sus ovejas, y de su grosura. Y miró el SEÑOR a Abel y a su presente;
And Abel—he also brought of the firstlings of his flock, and of the fattest thereof; and the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering;
5 y a Caín y a su presente no miró. Y se ensañó Caín en gran manera, y decayó su semblante.
But unto Cain and to his offering he had no respect; and it was very displeasing to Cain, and his countenance fell.
6 Entonces el SEÑOR dijo a Caín: ¿Por qué te has ensañado, y por qué se ha inmutado tu rostro?
And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
7 Cierto que si bien hicieres, será acepto; y si no hicieres bien, a las puertas duerme el pecado, y a ti será su deseo, y tú te enseñorearás de él.
If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door; and unto thee is its desire, but thou canst rule over it.
8 Y habló Caín a su hermano Abel; y aconteció que estando ellos en el campo, Caín se levantó contra su hermano Abel, y le mató.
And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
9 Y El SEÑOR dijo a Caín: ¿Dónde está Abel tu hermano? Y él respondió: No sé; ¿soy yo guarda de mi hermano?
And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel they brother? and he said, I know not; am I my brother's keeper?
10 Y él le dijo: ¿Qué has hecho? La voz de la sangre de tu hermano clama a mí desde la tierra.
And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.
11 Ahora pues, maldito seas tú de la tierra que abrió su boca para recibir la sangre de tu hermano de tu mano:
And now be thou cursed from the ground, which hath opened its mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand:
12 Cuando labrares la tierra, no te volverá a dar su fuerza; vagabundo y extranjero serás en la tierra.
When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield its strength unto thee; fugitive and vagabond shalt thou be on the earth.
13 Y dijo Caín al SEÑOR: Grande es mi iniquidad para perdonar.
And Cain said unto the Lord, My punishment is greater than I can bear.
14 He aquí me echas hoy de la faz de la tierra, y de tu presencia me esconderé; y seré vagabundo y extranjero en la tierra; y será que cualquiera que me hallare, me matará.
Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the ground; and from thy face shall I be hid; and if I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond on the earth, it will come to pass, that every one that findeth me will slay me.
15 Y le respondió el SEÑOR: Cierto que cualquiera que matare a Caín, siete veces será castigado. Entonces el SEÑOR puso señal en Caín, para que no lo hiriese cualquiera que le hallara.
And the Lord said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him seven-fold. And the Lord set a sign unto Cain, that any one finding him should not kill him.
16 Y salió Caín de delante del SEÑOR, y habitó en tierra de Nod, al oriente de Edén.
And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.
17 Y conoció Caín a su mujer, la cual concibió y dio a luz a Enoc; y edificó una ciudad, y llamó el nombre de la ciudad del nombre de su hijo, Enoc.
And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived, and bore Enoch; and he built a city, and called the name of the city after the name of his son Enoch.
18 Y a Enoc nació Irad, e Irad engendró a Mehujael, y Mehujael engendró a Metusael, y Metusael engendró a Lamec.
And unto Enoch was born Irad; and Irad begat Mechujael: and Mechujael begat Methushael; and Methushael begat Lemech.
19 Y tomó para sí Lamec dos mujeres: el nombre de la una fue Ada, y el nombre de la otra Zila.
And Lemech took unto himself two wives, the name of one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.
20 Y Ada dio a luz a Jabal, el cual fue padre de los que habitan en tiendas, y crían ganados.
And Adah bore Jabal; he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and have cattle.
21 Y el nombre de su hermano fue Jubal, el cual fue padre de todos los que tocan arpa y órgano.
And his brother's name was Jubal; he was the father of all such as play on the harp and guitar.
22 Y Zila también dio a luz a Tubal-Caín, acicalador de toda obra de bronce y de hierro: y la hermana de Tubal-Caín fue Naama.
And Zillah, she also bore Tubal-cain, an artificer in every article of copper and iron; and the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah.
23 Y dijo Lamec a sus mujeres: Ada y Zila, oíd mi voz; mujeres de Lamec, escuchad mi dicho: Que varón mataré por mi herida, y un joven por mi golpe;
And Lemech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, hear my voice; ye wives of Lemech, hearken unto my speech; for I have slain a man to my own wounding, and a young-man to my hurt.
24 que siete veces será vengado Caín, mas Lamec setenta veces siete.
If Cain shall be avenged seven-fold, truly Lemech seventy and seven-fold.
25 Y conoció aún Adán a su mujer, la cual dio a luz un hijo, y llamó su nombre Set; porque Dios (dijo ella) me ha dado otra simiente por Abel, al cual mató Caín.
And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son, and called his name Sheth [[Seth]]; for God [said she] hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.
26 Y a Set también le nació un hijo, y llamó su nombre Enós. Entonces comenzó a ser invocado el nombre del SEÑOR.
And to Sheth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enosh: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord.
