Esdras 7
1 Pasadas estas cosas, en el reinado de Artajerjes rey de Persia, Esdras, hijo de Seraías, hijo de Azarías, hijo de Hilcías,
And after these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes the king of Persia, Ezra the son of Serayah, the son of 'Azaryah, the son of Chilkiyah,
2 hijo de Salum, hijo de Sadoc, hijo de Ahitob,
The son of Shallum, the son of Zadok, the son of Achitub,
3 hijo de Amarías, hijo de Azarías, hijo de Meraiot,
The son of Amaryah, the son of 'Azaryah, the son of Merayoth,
4 hijo de Zeraías, hijo de Uzi, hijo de Buqui,
The son of Zerachyah, the son of 'Uzzi, the son of Bukki,
5 hijo de Abisúa, hijo de Finees, hijo de Eleazar, hijo de Aarón, primer sacerdote.
The son of Abishua', the son of Phinehas, the son of Elazar, the son of Aaron the chief priest:
6 Este Esdras subió de Babilonia, el cual era escriba diligente en la ley de Moisés, que dio el SEÑOR Dios de Israel; y le concedió el rey, según la mano del SEÑOR su Dios sobre él, todo lo que pidió.
This 'Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a practised expounder in the law of Moses, which the Lord the God of Israel hath given; and the king gave him, according to the hand of the Lord his God upon him, all his request.
7 Y subieron con él a Jerusalén de los hijos de Israel, y de los sacerdotes, y levitas, y cantores, y porteros, y netineos, en el séptimo año del rey Artajerjes.
And there went up some of the children of Israel, and of the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the gate-keepers, and the temple-servants, unto Jerusalem, in the seventh year of king Artaxerxes.
8 Y llegó a Jerusalén en el mes quinto, el año séptimo del rey.
And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king.
9 Porque el día primero del primer mes fue el principio de la partida de Babilonia, y al primero del mes quinto llegó a Jerusalén, según la buena mano de su Dios sobre él.
For on the first day of the first month was the commencement of the expedition from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month came he to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him.
10 Porque Esdras había preparado su corazón para buscar la ley del SEÑOR, y para hacer y para enseñar a Israel sus mandamientos y juicios.
For 'Ezra had directed his heart to inquire in the law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and ordinances.
11 Y éste es el traslado de la carta que dio el rey Artajerjes a Esdras, sacerdote escriba; escriba de las palabras mandadas del SEÑOR, y de sus estatutos sobre Israel:
Now this is the copy of the letter which king Artaxerxes gave unto 'Ezra the priest, the expounder of the law, the expounder of the words of the commandments of the Lord, and of his statutes for Israel.
12 Artajerjes, rey de los reyes, a Esdras sacerdote, escriba perfecto de la ley del Dios del cielo y a Cheenet:
Artaxerxes, the king of kings, unto 'Ezra the priest, the expounder of the law of the God of heaven, the perfect, and so forth.
13 Por mí es dado mandamiento, que cualquiera que quisiere en mi reino, del pueblo de Israel y de sus sacerdotes y levitas, ir contigo a Jerusalén, vaya.
By me is the order given, that every one who is freely willing in my kingdom out of the people of Israel, and their priests and Levites, to go up to Jerusalem, may go up with thee:
14 Porque de parte del rey y de sus siete consultores eres enviado a visitar ( para reformar y corregir ) a Judea y a Jerusalén, conforme a la ley de tu Dios que está en tu mano;
Forasmuch as thou art sent on the part of the king, and of his seven counsellors, to make inquiry concerning Judah and Jerusalem, according to the law of thy God which is in thy hand;
15 y a llevar la plata y el oro que el rey y sus consultores voluntariamente ofrecen al Dios de Israel, cuya morada está en Jerusalén;
And to carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counsellors have freely offered unto the God of Israel, whose habitation is in Jerusalem.
16 y toda la plata y el oro que hallares en toda la provincia de Babilonia, con las ofrendas voluntarias del pueblo y de los sacerdotes, que de su voluntad ofrecieren para la casa de su Dios que está en Jerusalén.
And all [freewill offerings of] silver and gold that thou canst find in all the province of Babylon, with the freewill offerings which the people and the priests offer willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem.
17 Por tanto con diligencia comprarás con esta plata becerros, carneros, corderos, y sus presentes y sus libaciones, y los ofrecerás sobre el altar de la casa de vuestro Dios que está en Jerusalén.
Therefore mayest thou buy speedily with this money bullocks, rams, lambs, with their meat-offerings and their drink-offerings, and offer them upon the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem.
18 Y lo que tu y tus hermanos quisieren hacer con la otra plata y oro, hacedlo conforme a la voluntad de vuestro Dios.
And whatsoever shall seem good to thee, and to thy brethren, to do with the rest of the silver and the gold, that do according to the will of your God.
19 Y los vasos que te son entregados para el servicio de la Casa de tu Dios, los restituirás delante de Dios en Jerusalén.
And the vessels which have been given unto thee for the service of the house of thy God, deliver thou before the God of Jerusalem.
20 Y lo demás necesario para la Casa de tu Dios que te fuere menester dar, lo darás de la casa de los tesoros del rey.
And the remainder that will yet be needful for the house of thy God, which thou shalt have occasion to procure, procure out of the King's treasure-house.
21 Y por mí el rey Artajerjes es dado mandamiento a todos los tesoreros que están al otro lado del río, que todo lo que os demandare Esdras sacerdote, escriba de la ley del Dios del cielo, se le conceda luego,
And by me, me King Artaxerxes, is the order given unto all the treasurers who are beyond the river, that whatsoever 'Ezra the priest, the expounder of the law of the God of heaven, may demand of you, shall be done speedily.
22 hasta cien talentos de plata, y hasta cien coros de trigo, y hasta cien batos de vino, y hasta cien batos de aceite; y sal sin tasa.
Up to one hundred talents of silver, and up to one hundred cors of wheat, and up to one hundred baths of wine, and up to one hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribing it.
23 Todo lo que es mandado por el Dios del cielo, sea hecho prestamente para la Casa del Dios del cielo; pues, ¿por qué habría de ser su ira contra el reino del rey y de sus hijos?
Whatsoever is ordered by the God of heaven shall be carefully done for the house of the God of heaven; for why should there be wrath against the kingdom of the king and his sons?
24 Y a vosotros os hacemos saber, que a todos los sacerdotes y levitas, cantores, porteros, netineos y ministros de la casa de éste Dios, ninguno pueda imponerles tributo, o pecho, o renta.
And to you make we it known, that on any of the priests and Levites, singers, gate-keepers, and temple-servants, or ministers of this house of God, no one shall be empowered to impose any tax, tribute, or toll.
25 Y tú, Esdras, conforme a la sabiduría de tu Dios que tienes, pon por jueces y gobernadores, que gobiernen a todo el pueblo que está al otro lado del río, a todos los que tienen noticia de las leyes de tu Dios; y al que no la tuviere le enseñaréis.
And thou, 'Ezra, according to the wisdom of thy God which is in thy hand, appoint judges and magistrates, who are to judge all the people that are beyond the river, all such as know the laws of thy God; and make ye them known to those that know them not.
26 Y cualquiera que no hiciere la ley de tu Dios, y la ley del rey, prestamente sea juzgado, o a muerte, o a desarraigo, o a pena de la hacienda, o a prisión.
And if there be any one who will not execute the law of thy God, and the law of the king, let justice be speedily executed upon him, whether it be unto death or to banishment, or to a fine on goods, or to imprisonment.
27 Bendito sea el SEÑOR, Dios de nuestros padres, que puso tal cosa en el corazón del rey, para honrar la Casa del SEÑOR que está en Jerusalén.
Blessed be the Lord the God of our fathers, who hath put the like of this in the heart of the king, to glorify the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem;
28 Y sobre mí extendió misericordia delante del rey y de sus consultores, y de todos los príncipes poderosos del rey. Y yo, confortado según la mano de mi Dios sobre mí, junté los principales de Israel para que subiesen conmigo.
And who hath extended kindness unto me before the king and his counsellors, and before all the mighty princes of the king: and I strengthened myself according to the hand of the Lord my God upon me, and I gathered together out of Israel principal men to go up with me.
