Amós 6
1 ¡Ay de los reposados en Sion, y de los confiados en el monte de Samaria, nombrados principales entre las mismas naciones, a cuales vendrán sobre ellos, oh casa de Israel!
Woe to those that are free from care in Zion, and that are in safety on the mount of Samaria, who are named the chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel come!
2 Pasad a Calne, y mirad; y de allí id a la gran Hamat; descended luego a Gat de los palestinos; ved si son aquellos reinos mejores que estos reinos, si su término es mayor que vuestro término.
Pass ye over unto Calneh, and see; and go from there to Chamath-rabbah; then go down to Gath of the Philistines: whether they be better than these kingdoms? or whether their territory be greater than your territory?
3 Los que dilatáis el día malo, y acercáis la silla de iniquidad;
[Ye] that deem far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;
4 los que duermen en camas de marfil, y se extienden sobre sus lechos; y comen los corderos del rebaño, y los becerros de en medio del engordadero;
That lie upon beds of ivory, and are stretched out upon their couches, and eat lambs out of the flock, and calves out of the midst of the stall;
5 los que gorjean al son de la flauta, e inventan instrumentos musicales, como David;
That chant to the sound of the psaltery, and like David's do they imagine their instrument of music to be;
6 los que beben vino en tazones, y se ungen con los ungüentos más preciosos; y no se afligen por el quebrantamiento de José.
That drink out of wine-bowls, and anoint themselves with the costliest of ointments; but who feel no pain for the wound of Joseph.
7 Por tanto, ahora pasarán en el principio de los que a cautividad pasaren, y el banquete de los que se extienden sobre sus lechos será quitado.
Therefore now shall they go into exile at the head of exiles, and the noisy banquet of those that were stretched out shall pass away.
8 El Señor DIOS juró por su alma, el SEÑOR Dios de los ejércitos dijo: Tengo en abominación la grandeza de Jacob, y aborrezco sus palacios; y la ciudad y su plenitud entregaré al enemigo.
The Lord Eternal hath sworn by his own existence, saith the Lord the God of hosts, I abhor the pride of Jacob, and his palaces do I hate: therefore will I surrender up [to the enemy] the city with all that filleth it.
9 Y acontecerá que si diez hombres quedaren en una casa, morirán.
And it shall come to pass, that if there remain ten men in one house, they shall die.
10 Y su tío tomará a cada uno, y le quemará para sacar los huesos de casa; y dirá al que estará en los rincones de la casa: ¿Hay aún alguno contigo? Y dirá: No. Y dirá aquél: Calla, que no conviene hacer memoria del nombre del SEÑOR.
And should a man's uncle or relative carry him forth, to bring out the bones out of the house, and say unto him that is in the recesses of the house, Is there yet any one with thee? he will say, There is no one left. Then will he say, Be silent; for we may not make mention of the name of the Lord.
11 Porque he aquí, el SEÑOR mandará, y herirá con hendiduras la casa mayor, y la casa menor con aberturas.
For, behold, the Lord commandeth, and he will smite the great house with breaches, and the little house with clefts.
12 ¿Correrán los caballos por las piedras? ¿Ararán en ellas con vacas? ¿Por qué habéis vosotros tornado el juicio en veneno, y el fruto de justicia en ajenjo?
Do horses ever run upon the rock? or will one plough there with oxen? that ye have turned justice into poison, and the fruit of righteousness into wormwood;
13 Los que os alegráis en nada; los que decís: ¿No nos hemos adquirido cuernos con nuestra fortaleza?
Ye who rejoice for a thing of naught, who say, Have we not through our own strength procured ourselves horns?
14 Pues he aquí, levantaré yo sobre vosotros, oh casa de Israel, dijo el SEÑOR Dios de los ejércitos, gentiles que os oprimirán desde la entrada de Hamat hasta el arroyo del desierto.
For, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith the Lord the God of hosts, and they shall oppress you from the entrance of Chamath unto the brook of the wilderness.
