2 Reyes 21

1 De doce años era Manasés cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó en Jerusalén cincuenta y cinco años; el nombre de su madre fue Hepsiba.

Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Hephzibah.

2 E hizo lo malo en ojos del SEÑOR, según las abominaciones de los gentiles que el SEÑOR había echado delante de los hijos de Israel.

He did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, after the abominations of the nations whom Jehovah cast out before the children of Israel.

3 Porque él volvió a edificar los altos que Ezequías su padre había derribado, y levantó altares a Baal, e hizo bosque, como había hecho Acab rey de Israel; y adoró a todo el ejército del cielo, y sirvió a aquellas cosas.

For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made an Asherah, as did Ahab king of Israel, and worshiped all the host of heaven, and served them.

4 Asimismo edificó altares en la Casa del SEÑOR, de la cual el SEÑOR había dicho: Yo pondré mi nombre en Jerusalén.

He built altars in the house of Jehovah, of which Jehovah said, "I will put my name in Jerusalem."

5 Y edificó altares para todo el ejército del cielo en los dos atrios de la casa del SEÑOR.

He built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of Jehovah.

6 Y pasó a su hijo por fuego, y miró en tiempos, y fue agorero, e instituyó pitones y adivinos, y multiplicó a hacer lo malo en ojos del SEÑOR, para provocarlo a ira.

He made his son to pass through the fire, and practiced sorcery, and practiced divination, and consulted mediums, and spiritists: he worked much evil in the sight of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger.

7 Y puso una entalladura del bosque que él había hecho, en la Casa de la cual había el SEÑOR dicho a David y a Salomón su hijo: Yo pondré mi nombre perpetuamente en esta Casa, y en Jerusalén, a la cual escogí de todas las tribus de Israel;

He set the engraved image of Asherah, that he had made, in the house of which Jehovah said to David and to Solomon his son, "In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name forever;

8 y no volveré a hacer que el pie de Israel sea movido de la tierra que di a sus padres, con tal que guarden y hagan conforme a todas las cosas que yo les he mandado, y conforme a toda la ley que mi siervo Moisés les mandó.

neither will I cause the feet of Israel to wander any more out of the land which I gave their fathers, if only they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them."

9 Mas ellos no escucharon; y Manasés los hizo errar a que hiciesen más mal que los gentiles que el SEÑOR rayó de delante de los hijos de Israel.

But they did not listen: and Manasseh seduced them to do that which is evil more than the nations did whom Jehovah destroyed before the children of Israel.

10 Y habló el SEÑOR por mano de sus siervos los profetas, diciendo:

Jehovah spoke by his servants the prophets, saying,

11 Por cuanto Manasés rey de Judá ha hecho estas abominaciones, y ha hecho más mal que todo lo que hicieron los amorreos que fueron antes de él, y también ha hecho pecar a Judá en sus inmundicias;

"Because Manasseh king of Judah has done these abominations, and has done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, who were before him, and has made Judah also to sin with his idols;

12 Por tanto, así dice el SEÑOR Dios de Israel: He aquí yo traigo tal mal sobre Jerusalén y sobre Judá, que el que lo oyere, le retiñirán ambos oídos.

therefore thus says Jehovah, the God of Israel, 'Look, I bring such disaster on Jerusalem and Judah, that whoever hears of it, both his ears shall tingle.

13 Y extenderé sobre Jerusalén el cordel de Samaria, y el plomo de la casa de Acab; y yo limpiaré a Jerusalén como se limpia un vaso, que después que lo han limpiado, lo vuelven sobre su faz.

I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab; and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.

14 Y desampararé las reliquias de mi heredad, y las entregaré en manos de sus enemigos; y serán para presa y para despojo a todos sus adversarios;

I will cast off the remnant of my inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies. They will become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies;

15 por cuanto han hecho lo malo en mis ojos, y me han provocado a ira, desde el día que sus padres salieron de Egipto hasta hoy.

because they have done that which is evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even to this day.'"

16 Fuera de esto, derramó Manasés mucha sangre inocente en gran manera, hasta llenar a Jerusalén de extremo a extremo, además de su pecado con que hizo pecar a Judá, para que hiciese lo malo en ojos del SEÑOR.

Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, until he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; besides his sin with which he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah.

17 Lo demás de los hechos de Manasés, y todas las cosas que hizo, y su pecado que cometió, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

18 Y durmió Manasés con sus padres, y fue sepultado en el huerto de su casa, en el huerto de Uza; y reinó en su lugar Amón su hijo.

Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza: and Amon his son reigned in his place.

19 De veintidós años era Amón cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó dos años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre fue Mesulemet hija de Haruz de Jotba.

Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.

20 E hizo lo malo en ojos del SEÑOR, como había hecho Manasés su padre.

He did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, as Manasseh his father did.

21 Y anduvo en todos los caminos en que su padre anduvo, y sirvió a las inmundicias a las cuales había servido su padre, y a ellas adoró;

He walked in all the way that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshiped them:

22 y dejó al SEÑOR Dios de sus padres, y no anduvo en el camino del SEÑOR.

and he forsook Jehovah, the God of his fathers, and did not walk in the way of Jehovah.

23 Y los siervos de Amón conspiraron contra él, y mataron al rey en su casa.

The servants of Amon conspired against him, and put the king to death in his own house.

24 Entonces el pueblo de la tierra hirió a todos los que habían conspirado contra el rey Amón; y puso el pueblo de la tierra por rey en su lugar a Josías su hijo.

But the people of the land killed all those who had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place.

25 Lo demás de los hechos de Amón, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

26 Y fue sepultado en su sepulcro en el huerto de Uza, y reinó en su lugar Josías su hijo.

He was buried in his tomb in the garden of Uzza: and Josiah his son reigned in his place.
