1 Pedro 1
1 Pedro, apóstol de Jesús, el Cristo, a los extranjeros esparcidos en Ponto, en Galacia, en Capadocia, en Asia, y en Bitinia,
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, unto the chosen pilgrims of the dispersion, throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, —
2 elegidos (según la presciencia de Dios Padre) en santificación del Espíritu, para obedecer y ser rociados con la sangre de Jesús, el Cristo: Gracia y paz os sea multiplicada.
[Chosen] according to the fore-knowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of Spirit, unto obedience and the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ, Favour unto you, and peace, be multiplied!
3 Alabado sea el Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesús, el Cristo, que según su grande misericordia nos ha engendrado de nuevo en esperanza viva, por la resurrección de Jesús, el Cristo, de los muertos:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who, according to his great mercy, hath regenerated us unto a living hope, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from among the dead,
4 Para la herencia incorruptible, y que no puede contaminarse, ni marchitarse, conservada en los cielos,
Unto an inheritance, incorruptible and undefiled and unfading, reserved in the heavens for you
5 para vosotros que sois guardados en la virtud de Dios por fe, para alcanzar la salud que está aparejada para ser manifestada en el postrer tiempo.
who, in God’s power, are being guarded through faith unto salvation—ready to be revealed in the last ripe time:
6 En lo cual vosotros os alegráis, estando al presente un poco de tiempo afligidos en diversas tentaciones, si es necesario,
Wherein ye exult, though, for a little, just now, if needful, put to grief in manifold temptations,
7 para que la prueba de vuestra fe, mucho más preciosa que el oro (el cual perece, mas sin embargo es probado con fuego), sea hallada en alabanza, gloria y honra, cuando Jesús, el Cristo, fuere manifestado;
In order that the proving of your faith—much more precious than of gold that perisheth even though, by means of fire, it is proved—may be found unto praise and glory and honour in the revealing of Jesus Christ, —
8 al cual, no habiendo visto, le amáis; en el cual creyendo, aunque al presente no lo veáis, os alegráis con gozo inefable y glorificado;
Whom, not having seen, ye love, on whom, though at present not looking, but believing, ye exult with joy unspeakable and filled with glory,
9 obteniendo el fin de vuestra fe, que es la salud de vuestras almas.
Being about to bear away the end of your faith—a salvation of souls:
10 De la cual salud los profetas (que profetizaron de la gracia que había de venir en vosotros), han inquirido y diligentemente buscado,
Concerning which salvation, prophets—who concerning the favour for you, did prophesy—sought out and searched out,
11 escudriñando cuándo y en qué punto de tiempo significaba el Espíritu de Cristo que estaba en ellos; el cual antes anunciaba las aflicciones que habían de venir al Cristo, y la gloria después de ellas.
Searching into what particular, or what manner, of season the Spirit of Christ which was in them was pointing to, when witnessing beforehand as to—The sufferings, for Christ, and the glories, after these, —
12 A los cuales fue revelado, que no para sí mismos, sino para nosotros administraban las cosas que ahora os son anunciadas de los que os han predicado el Evangelio por el Espíritu Santo enviado del cielo; en las cuales desean mirar los ángeles.
Unto whom it was revealed—that, Not unto themselves, but unto us, they were ministering them, which things have, now, been announced unto you through them who have told you the good tidings with Holy Spirit sent forth from heaven: into which things messengers are coveting to obtain a nearer view.
13 Por lo cual, teniendo los lomos de vuestro entendimiento ceñidos con templanza, esperad perfectamente en la gracia que os es presentada cuando Jesús, el Cristo, os es manifestado,
Wherefore, girding up the loins of your mind, keeping sober, perseveringly direct your hope unto the favour, being borne along to you, in the revealing of Jesus Christ:
14 como hijos obedientes, no conformándoos con los deseos que antes teníais estando en vuestra ignorancia;
As obedient persons, not configuring yourselves unto your former covetings in your ignorance:
15 mas como aquel que os ha llamado es santo, semejantemente también sed vosotros santos en toda conversación;
But, according as he that hath called you is holy, do, ye yourselves, also become, holy in all manner of behaviour, —
16 porque escrito está: Sed santos, porque yo soy santo.
Inasmuch as it is written—Holy shall ye be, because, I, am holy.
17 Y si invocáis por Padre a aquel que sin acepción de personas juzga según la obra de cada uno, conversad en temor todo el tiempo de vuestra peregrinación,
And, if, as Father, ye are invoking him who, without respect of persons, judgeth according to each man’s work, with reverence, for the time of your sojourning, behave ye;
18 sabiendo que habéis sido rescatados de vuestra vana conversación (la cual recibisteis de vuestros padres), no con cosas corruptibles, como oro o plata;
Knowing that, Not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, have ye been redeemed from your unmeaning behaviour paternally handed down,
19 sino con la sangre preciosa del Cristo, como de un Cordero sin mancha y sin contaminación,
But with precious blood, as of a lamb, unblemished and unspotted, of an Anointed One, —
20 ya ordenado desde antes de la fundación del mundo, pero manifestado en los postrimeros tiempos por amor de vosotros,
Foreknown, indeed, before the foundation of the world, but made manifest at a last stage of the times, for the sake of you
21 que por él creéis a Dios, el cual le resucitó de los muertos, y le ha dado gloria, para que vuestra fe y esperanza sea en Dios.
who, through him, are faithful towards God, —Who raised him from among the dead, and glory to him gave, So that your faith and hope are directed towards God:
22 Habiendo purificado vuestras almas en la obediencia de la verdad, por el Espíritu, en caridad hermanable sin fingimiento, amaos unos a otros entrañablemente de corazón puro,
Having purified, your souls, by the obedience of the truth, unto unfeigned brotherly affection, from the heart, love, one another, earnestly;
23 siendo renacidos, no de simiente corruptible, sino de incorruptible, por la palabra del Dios, viviente y que permanece para siempre. (aiōn g165)
Having been regenerated—Not out of corruptible seed, but incorruptible—through means of the word of a Living and Abiding God; (aiōn g165)
24 Porque: Toda carne es como la hierba, y toda la gloria del hombre, como la flor de la hierba. Se seca la hierba, y la flor se cae;
Inasmuch as—All flesh, is as grass, and, all the glory thereof, as the flower of grass, —The grass hath withered, and the flower hath fallen out,
