1 Reyes 4
1 Así que el rey Salomón fue rey sobre todo Israel.
King Solomon was king over all Israel.
2 Y estos fueron los príncipes que tuvo: Azarías hijo de Sadoc, sacerdote;
These were his officials: Azariah son of Zadok was the priest.
3 Elihoref y Ahías, hijos de Sisa, escribas; Josafat hijo de Ahilud, canciller;
Elihoreph and Ahijah sons of Shisha, were secretaries. Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was the recorder.
4 Benaía hijo de Joiada era sobre el ejército; y Sadoc y Abiatar eran los sacerdotes;
Benaiah son of Jehoiada was over the army. Zadok and Abiathar were priests.
5 Azarías hijo de Natán era sobre los gobernadores; Zabud hijo de Natán era el príncipe, compañero del rey;
Azariah son of Nathan was over the officers. Zabud son of Nathan was a priest and the king's friend.
6 y Ahisar era mayordomo; y Adoniram hijo de Abda era sobre el tributo.
Ahishar was over the household. Adoniram son of Abda was over the men who were subjected to forced labor.
7 Y tenía Salomón doce gobernadores sobre todo Israel, los cuales mantenían al rey y a su casa. Cada uno de ellos estaba obligado a abastecer por un mes en el año.
Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, who provided food for the king and his household. Each man had to make provision for one month in the year.
8 Y éstos son los nombres de ellos: el hijo de Hur en el monte de Efraín;
These were their names: Ben-Hur, in the hill country of Ephraim;
9 el hijo de Decar, en Macaz, y en Saalbim, y en Bet-semes, y en Elón, y en Bet-hanán;
Ben-Deker in Makaz, Shaalbim, Beth Shemesh, and Elon Beth Hanan;
10 el hijo de Hesed, en Arubot; éste tenía también a Soco y toda la tierra de Hefer.
Ben-Hesed, in Arubboth (to him belonged Sokoh and all the land of Hepher);
11 El hijo de Abinadab, en todos los términos de Dor; éste tenía por mujer a Tafat hija de Salomón;
Ben-Abinadab, in all Naphoth Dor (he had Taphath the daughter of Solomon as his wife);
12 Baana hijo de Ahilud, en Taanac y Meguido, y en toda Bet-seán, que es cerca de Saretán, abajo de Jezreel, desde Bet-seán hasta Abel-mehola, y hasta el otro lado de Jocmeam;
Baana son of Ahilud, in Taanach and Megiddo, and all Beth Shan that is beside Zarethan below Jezreel, from Beth Shan to Abel Meholah as far as the other side of Jokmeam;
13 el hijo de Geber, en Ramot de Galaad; éste tenía también las ciudades de Jair hijo de Manasés, las cuales estaban en Galaad; tenía también la provincia de Argob, que era en Basán, sesenta grandes ciudades con muro y cerraduras de bronce;
Ben-Geber, in Ramoth Gilead (to him belonged the towns of Jair son of Manasseh, that are in Gilead, and the region of Argob belonged to him, which is in Bashan, sixty great cities with walls and bronze gate bars);
14 Ahinadab hijo de Iddo, en Mahanaim;
Ahinadab son of Iddo, in Mahanaim;
15 Ahimaas en Neftalí; éste tomó también por mujer a Basemat hija de Salomón.
Ahimaaz, in Naphtali (he also married Basemath the daughter of Solomon as his wife);
16 Baana hijo de Husai, en Aser y en Alot;
Baana son of Hushai, in Asher and Bealoth;
17 Josafat hijo de Parúa, en Isacar;
Jehoshaphat son of Paruah, in Issachar;
18 Simei hijo de Ela, en Benjamín;
Shimei son of Ela, in Benjamin;
19 Geber hijo de Uri, en la tierra de Galaad, y en la tierra de Sehón rey de los amorreos, y de Og rey de Basán; y además de éstos había un gobernador general en toda la tierra.
and Geber son of Uri, in the land of Gilead, the country of Sihon king of the Amorites and of Og king of Bashan, and he was the only official who was in the land.
20 Los de Judá y de Israel eran muchos, como la arena que está junto al mar en multitud, comiendo y bebiendo y alegrándose.
Judah and Israel were as numerous as the sand by the sea. They were eating and drinking and were happy.
21 Y Salomón señoreaba sobre todos los reinos, desde el río de la tierra de los filisteos, hasta el término de Egipto; y traían presentes, y sirvieron a Salomón todos los días que vivió.
Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the River to the land of the Philistines and to the border of Egypt. They brought tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.
22 Y la despensa de Salomón era cada día treinta coros de flor de harina, y sesenta coros de harina.
Solomon's provision for one day was thirty cors of fine flour and sixty cors of meal,
23 Diez bueyes engordados, y veinte bueyes de pasto, y cien ovejas; sin los ciervos, cabras, búfalos, y aves engordados.
ten fat oxen, twenty oxen out of the pastures, and one hundred sheep, besides deer, gazelles, roebucks, and fattened fowl.
24 Porque él señoreaba en toda la región que estaba al otro lado del río, desde Tifsa hasta Gaza, sobre todos los reyes del otro lado del río; y tuvo paz por todos lados en derredor suyo.
For he had dominion over all the region on this side of the River, from Tiphsah as far as to Gaza, over all the kings on this side the River, and he had peace on all sides around him.
25 Y Judá e Israel vivían seguros, cada uno debajo de su vid y debajo de su higuera, desde Dan hasta Beerseba, todos los días de Salomón.
Judah and Israel lived in safety, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.
26 Tenía además de esto Salomón cuarenta mil caballos en sus caballerizas para sus carros, y doce mil caballos de cabalgar.
Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
27 Y estos gobernadores mantenían al rey Salomón, y a todos los que a la mesa del rey Salomón venían, cada uno su mes; y hacían que nada faltase.
Those officials provided food for King Solomon and for all who came to King Solomon's table, every man in his month. They let nothing be lacking.
28 Y traían también cebada y paja para los caballos, y para las bestias de carga, al lugar donde él estaba, cada uno conforme al cargo que tenía.
They also brought to the proper place barley and straw for the chariot horses and riding horses, each one bringing in what he was able.
29 Y dio Dios a Salomón sabiduría, y prudencia muy grande, y magnanimidad de corazón, como la arena que está a la orilla del mar.
God gave Solomon great wisdom and understanding, and wideness of understanding like the sand on the seashore.
30 Que fue mayor la sabiduría de Salomón que la de todos los orientales, y que toda la sabiduría de los egipcios.
Solomon's wisdom exceeded the wisdom of all the people of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt.
31 Y aun fue más sabio que todos los hombres; más que Etán ezraíta, y que Hemán y Calcol y Darda, hijos de Mahol; y fue nombrado entre todas las naciones de alrededor.
He was wiser than all men—than Ethan the Ezrahite, Heman, Kalkol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol—and his fame reached all the surrounding nations.
32 Y propuso tres mil parábolas; y sus versos fueron cinco mil.
He spoke three thousand proverbs and his songs were one thousand and five in number.
33 También disertó de los árboles, desde el cedro del Líbano hasta el hisopo que nace en la pared. Asimismo disertó de los animales, de las aves, de las serpientes, y de los peces.
He described the plants, from the cedar that is in Lebanon to the hyssop that grows out of the wall. He explained also about beasts, birds, creeping things, and fish.
34 Y venían de todos los pueblos a oír la sabiduría de Salomón, y de todos los reyes de la tierra, donde había llegado la fama de su sabiduría.
People came from all the nations to hear the wisdom of Solomon. They came from all kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom.
