1 Crónicas 23
1 Siendo, pues, David ya viejo y lleno de días, hizo a Salomón su hijo rey sobre Israel.
And David was old and full of days; and he made Solomon his son king over Israel in his stead.
2 Y juntando a todos los principales de Israel, y a los sacerdotes y levitas,
And he assembled all the chief men of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites.
3 fueron contados los levitas de treinta años arriba; y fue el número de ellos por sus cabezas, contados por varones, treinta y ocho mil.
And the Levites numbered [themselves] from thirty years old and upward; and their number by their polls amounted to thirty and eight thousand men.
4 De éstos, veinticuatro mil para dar prisa a la obra de la Casa del SEÑOR; y gobernadores y jueces, seis mil;
Of the overseers over the works of the house of the Lord [there were] twenty-four thousand, and [there were] six thousand scribes and judges;
5 además cuatro mil porteros; y cuatro mil para alabar al SEÑOR, con los instrumentos que David había hecho para rendir alabanzas.
and four thousand door-keepers, and four thousand to praise the Lord with instruments which he made to praise the Lord.
6 Y los repartió David en órdenes conforme a los hijos de Leví, y de Gersón, y de Coat, y de Merari.
And David divided them [into] daily courses, for the sons of Levi, for Gedson, Caath, and Merari.
7 Los hijos de Gersón: Laadán, y Simei.
And for [the family of] Gedson, Edan, and Semei.
8 Los hijos de Laadán, tres: Jehiel el primero, Zetam y Joel.
The sons of Edan [were] Jeiel, the chief, and Zethan, and Joel, three.
9 Los hijos de Simei, tres: Selomit, Haziel, y Arán. Estos fueron los príncipes de las familias de Laadán.
The sons of Semei; Salomith, Jeiel, and Dan, three: these [were] the chiefs of the families of Edan.
10 Y los hijos de Simei: Jahat, Zina, Jeús, y Bería. Estos cuatro fueron los hijos de Simei.
And to the sons of Semei, Jeth, and Ziza, and Joas, and Beria: these [were] the four sons of Semei.
11 Jahat era el primero, Zina el segundo; mas Jeús y Bería no multiplicaron en hijos, por lo cual fueron contados por una familia.
And Jeth was the chief, and Ziza the second: and Joas and Beria did not multiply sons, and they became [only] one reckoning according to the house of their father.
12 Los hijos de Coat: Amram, Izhar, Hebrón, y Uziel, ellos cuatro.
The sons of Caath; Ambram, Isaar, Chebron, Oziel, four.
13 Los hijos de Amram: Aarón y Moisés. Y Aarón fue apartado para ser dedicado a las más santas cosas, él y sus hijos para siempre, para que quemasen incienso delante del SEÑOR, y le ministrasen, y bendijesen en su nombre, para siempre.
The sons of Ambram; Aaron and Moses: and Aaron was appointed for the consecration of the most holy things, he and his sons for ever, to burn incense before the Lord, to minister and bless in his name for ever.
14 Y los hijos de Moisés, varón de Dios, fueron contados en la tribu de Leví.
And [as for] Moses the man of God, his sons were reckoned to the tribe of Levi.
15 Los hijos de Moisés fueron Gersón y Eliezer.
The sons of Moses; Gersam, and Eliezer.
16 Hijo de Gersón fue Sebuel el primero.
The sons of Gersam; Subael the chief.
17 E hijo de Eliezer fue Rehabías el primero. Y Eliezer no tuvo otros hijos; mas los hijos de Rehabías fueron muchos.
And the sons of Eliezer were, Rabia the chief: and Eliezer had no other sons; but the sons of Rabia were very greatly multiplied.
18 Hijo de Izhar fue Selomit el primero.
The sons of Isaar; Salomoth the chief.
19 Los hijos de Hebrón: Jerías el primero, Amarías el segundo, Jahaziel el tercero, y Jecamán el cuarto.
The sons of Chebron; Jeria the chief, Amaria the second, Jeziel the third, Jekemias the fourth.
20 Los hijos de Uziel: Micaía el primero, e Isías el segundo.
The sons of Oziel; Micha the chief, and Isia the second.
21 Los hijos de Merari: Mahli y Musi. Los hijos de Mahli: Eleazar y Cis.
The sons of Merari; Mooli, and Musi: the sons of Mooli; Eleazar, and Kis.
22 Y murió Eleazar sin hijos, mas tuvo hijas; y los hijos de Cis, sus hermanos, las tomaron por mujeres.
And Eleazar died, and he had no sons, but daughters: and the sons of Kis, their brethren, took them.
23 Los hijos de Musi: Mahli, Eder y Jerimot, ellos tres.
The sons of Musi; Mooli, and Eder, and Jarimoth, three.
24 Estos son los hijos de Leví en las familias de sus padres, cabeceras de familias en su censo, contados por sus nombres, por sus cabezas, los cuales hacían obra en el ministerio de la Casa del SEÑOR, de veinte años arriba.
These [are] the sons of Levi according to the houses of their fathers; chiefs of their families according to their numbering, according to the number of their names, according to their polls, doing the works of service of the house of the Lord, from twenty years old and upward.
25 Porque David dijo: El SEÑOR ha dado reposo a su pueblo Israel, y habitará en Jerusalén para siempre.
For David said, The Lord God of Israel has given rest to his people, and has taken up his abode in Jerusalem for ever.
26 Y también los levitas no llevarán más el tabernáculo, y todos sus vasos para su ministerio.
And the Levites bore not the tabernacle, and all the vessels of it for its service.
27 Así que, conforme a las postreras palabras de David, fue la cuenta de los hijos de Leví de veinte años arriba.
For by the last words of David was the number of the Levites [taken] from twenty years old and upward.
28 Y estaban bajo la mano de los hijos de Aarón, para ministrar en la Casa del SEÑOR, en los atrios y en las cámaras, y en la purificación de toda cosa santificada, y en la obra del ministerio de la Casa de Dios;
For he appointed them to wait on Aaron, to minister in the house of the Lord, over the courts, and over the chambers, and over the purification of all the holy things, and over the works of the service of the house of God;
29 Asimismo para los panes de la proposición, para la flor de la harina para el sacrificio, para las hojuelas sin levadura, para la fruta de sartén y para lo tostado, y para toda medida y cuenta;
and for the shew-bread, and for the fine flour of the meat-offering, and for the unleavened cakes, and for the fried cake, and for the dough, and for every measure;
30 y para que asistiesen cada mañana todos los días a confesar y alabar al SEÑOR, y asimismo a la tarde;
and to stand in the morning to praise and give thanks to the Lord, and so in the evening;
31 y para ofrecer todos los holocaustos al SEÑOR los sábados, nuevas lunas, solemnidades por la cuenta y forma que tenían, continuamente delante del SEÑOR.
and [to be] over all the whole-burnt-offerings that were offered up to the Lord on the sabbaths, and at the new moons, and at the feasts, by number, according to the order [given] to them, continually before the Lord.
32 Y para que tuviesen la guarda del tabernáculo del testimonio, y la guarda del santuario, y la guarda de los hijos de Aarón sus hermanos, en el ministerio de la Casa del SEÑOR.
And they are to keep the charge of the tabernacle of witness, and the charge of the holy place, and the charges of the sons of Aaron their brethren, to minister in the house of the Lord.
