San Mateo 22
1 Y RESPONDIENDO Jesus, les volvió á hablar en parábolas, diciendo:
Then Iesus answered, and spake vnto them againe in parables, saying,
2 El reino de los cielos es semejante á un hombre rey, que hizo bodas á su hijo:
The kingdome of heauen is like vnto a certaine King which maried his sonne,
3 Y envió sus siervos para que llamasen los llamados á las bodas; mas no quisieron venir.
And sent foorth his seruants, to call them that were bidde to the wedding, but they woulde not come.
4 Volvió á enviar otros siervos, diciendo: Decid á los llamados: Hé aquí, mi comida he aparejado; mis toros, y animales engordados [son] muertos, y todo [está] prevenido: venid á las bodas.
Againe hee sent foorth other seruants, saying. Tell them which are bidden, Beholde, I haue prepared my dinner: mine oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all thinges are readie: come vnto the mariage.
5 Mas ellos no se cuidaron, y se fueron; uno á su labranza, y otro á sus negocios;
But they made light of it, and went their wayes, one to his farme, and another about his marchandise.
6 Y otros, tomando sus siervos, [los] afrentaron, y [los] mataron.
And the remnant tooke his seruants, and intreated them sharpely, and slewe them.
7 Y el rey, oyendo [esto, ] se enojó; y enviando sus ejércitos, destruyó á aquellos homicidas, y puso fuego á su ciudad.
But when the King heard it, he was wroth, and sent foorth his warriers, and destroyed those murtherers, and burnt vp their citie.
8 Entónces dice á sus siervos: las bodas á la verdad están aparejadas; mas los que eran llamados no eran dignos.
Then saide hee to his seruants, Truely the wedding is prepared: but they which were bidden, were not worthy.
9 Id pues á las salidas de los caminos, y llamad á las bodas á cuantos hallareis.
Go ye therefore out into the high wayes, and as many as ye finde, bid them to the mariage.
10 Y saliendo los siervos por los caminos, juntaron á todos los que hallaron, juntamente malos y buenos; y las bodas fueron llenas de convidados.
So those seruantes went out into the hie wayes, and gathered together all that euer they found, both good and bad: so the wedding was furnished with ghestes.
11 Y entró el rey para ver los convidados, y vió allí un hombre no vestido de boda.
Then the King came in, to see the ghestes, and sawe there a man which had not on a wedding garment.
12 Y le dijo: Amigo, ¿cómo entraste acá no teniendo vestido de boda? Mas él cerró la boca.
And he sayd vnto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither, and hast not on a wedding garment? And he was speachlesse.
13 Entónces el rey dijo á los que servian: Atado de piés y de manos tomadle y echadle en las tinieblas de afuera; ahí será el lloro, y el crujir de dientes.
Then sayd the King to the seruants, Binde him hand and foote: take him away, and cast him into vtter darkenes: there shalbe weeping and gnashing of teeth.
14 Porque muchos son llamados, y pocos escogidos.
For many are called, but fewe chosen.
15 Entónces idos los Fariséos, consultaron como le tomarian en [alguna] palabra.
Then went the Pharises and tooke counsell how they might tangle him in talke.
16 Y envian á él los discípulos de ellos con los Herodianos, diciendo: Maestro, sabemos que eres amador de verdad, y [que] enseñas con verdad el camino de Dios, y [que] no te curas de nadie, por que no tienes acepcion de persona de hombres.
And they sent vnto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we knowe that thou art true, and teachest the way of God truely, neither carest for any man: for thou considerest not the person of men.
17 Dínos pues, ¿qué te parece? ¿es lícito dar tributo á César, ó no?
Tell vs therefore, how thinkest thou? Is it lawfull to giue tribute vnto Cesar, or not?
18 Mas Jesus, entendida la malicia de ellos, [les] dice: ¿Por qué me tentais, hipócritas?
But Iesus perceiued their wickednes, and sayd, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
19 Mostradme la moneda del tributo. Y ellos le presentaron un denario.
Shewe me the tribute money. And they brought him a peny.
20 Entónces les dice: ¿Cuya [es] esta figura, y lo que está encima escrito?
And he sayde vnto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
21 Dícenle: De César. Y díceles: Pagad, pues, á César lo [que es] de César, y á Dios lo [que es] de Dios.
They sayd vnto him, Cesars. Then sayd he vnto them, Giue therefore to Cesar, the things which are Cesars, and giue vnto God, those things which are Gods.
22 Y oyendo [esto] se maravillaron, y dejándole se fueron.
And when they heard it, they marueiled, and left him, and went their way.
23 Aquel dia llegaron á él los Saducéos, que dicen no haber resurreccion, y le preguntaron,
The same day the Sadduces came to him (which say that there is no resurrection) and asked him,
24 Diciendo: Maestro, Moisés dijo: Si alguno muriere sin hijos, su hermano se casará con su mujer, y despertará simiente á su hermano.
Saying, Master, Moses sayd, If a man die, hauing no children, his brother shall marie his wife by the right of alliance, and raise vp seede vnto his brother.
25 Fueron pues entre nosotros siete hermanos: y el primero tomó mujer, y murió; y no teniendo generacion, dejó su mujer á su hermano.
Nowe there were with vs seuen brethren, and the first maried a wife, and deceased: and hauing none yssue, left his wife vnto his brother.
26 De la misma manera tambien el segundo, y el tercero, hasta los siete.
Likewise also the second, and the third, vnto the seuenth.
27 Y despues de todos murió tambien la mujer.
And last of all the woman died also.
28 En la resurreccion, pues, ¿de cuál de los siete sera ella mujer? porque todos la tuvieron.
Therefore in the resurrection, whose wife shall she be of the seuen? for all had her.
29 Entónces, respondiendo Jesus, les dijo: Errais, ignorando las escrituras, y la potencia de Dios.
Then Iesus answered, and sayd vnto them, Ye are deceiued, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 Porque en la resurreccion, ni los hombres tomarán mujeres, ni las mujeres maridos; mas son como los ángeles de Dios en el cielo.
For in the resurrection they neither marie wiues, nor wiues are bestowed in mariage, but are as the Angels of God in heauen.
31 Y de la resurreccion de los muertos, ¿no habeis leido lo que os es dicho por Dios, que dice:
And concerning the resurrection of the dead, haue ye not read what is spoken vuto you of God, saying,
32 Yo soy el Dios de Abraham, y el Dios de Isaac, y el Dios de Jacob? Dios no es Dios de muertos, sino de vivos.
I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Iacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the liuing.
33 Y oyendo [esto] las gentes, estaban atónitas de su doctrina.
And when the multitude heard it, they were astonied at his doctrine.
34 Entónces los Fariséos, oyendo que habia cerrado la boca á los Saducéos, se juntaron á una;
But when the Pharises had heard, that he had put the Sadduces to silence, they assembled together.
35 Y preguntó uno de ellos, intérprete de la ley, tentándole, y diciendo:
And one of them, which was an expounder of the Lawe, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
36 Maestro, ¿cuál [es] el mandamiento grande en la ley?
Master, which is ye great commandement in the Lawe?
37 Y Jesus le dijo: Amarás al Señor tu Dios de todo tu corazon, y de toda tu alma, y de toda tu mente.
Iesus sayd to him, Thou shalt loue the Lord thy God with all thine heart, with all thy soule, and with all thy minde.
38 Este es el primero y el grande mandamiento.
This is the first and the great commandement.
39 Y el segundo [es] semejante á este: Amarás á tu prójimo como á tí mismo.
And the second is like vnto this, Thou shalt loue thy neighbour as thy selfe.
40 De estos dos mandamientos depende toda la ley, y los profetas.
On these two commandements hangeth the whole Lawe, and the Prophets.
41 Y estando juntos los Fariséos, Jesus les preguntó,
While the Pharises were gathered together, Iesus asked them,
42 Diciendo: ¿Qué os parece del Cristo? ¿de quién es Hijo? Dícenle: De David.
Saying, What thinke ye of Christ? whose sonne is he? They sayd vnto him, Dauids.
43 El les dice: ¿Pues cómo David en Espíritu le llama Señor, diciendo:
He sayd vnto them, How then doeth Dauid in spirit call him Lord, saying,
44 Dijo el Señor á mi Señor: Siéntate á mi diestra, entretanto que pongo tus enemigos por estrado de tus piés?
The Lord sayd to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footestoole?
45 Pues si David le llama Señor, ¿cómo es su Hijo?
If then Dauid call him Lord, howe is he his sonne?
46 Y nadie le podia responder palabra; ni osó alguno desde aquel dia preguntarle más.
And none could answere him a worde, neither durst any from that day foorth aske him any moe questions.
