Salmos 76

1 Al Músico principal: sobre Neginoth: Salmo de Asaph: Canción. DIOS es conocido en Judá: en Israel es grande su nombre.

For the leader. With instrumental music. A psalm of Asaph, a song. God has made himself known in Judah, his name is great in Israel.

2 Y en Salem está su tabernáculo, y su habitación en Sión.

His tent is in Salem, his dwelling in Zion.

3 Allí quebró las saetas del arco, el escudo, y la espada, y [tren] de guerra. (Selah)

There he broke the lightning arrows, shield, sword, and weapons of war. (Selah)

4 Ilustre eres tú; fuerte, más que los montes de caza.

Terrible is your splendour on the everlasting mountains.

5 Los fuertes de corazón fueron despojados, durmieron su sueño; y nada hallaron en sus manos todos los varones fuertes.

Despoiled were the stout of heart; in the sleep into which they had fallen, none of the warriors could lift a hand.

6 A tu reprensión, oh Dios de Jacob, el carro y el caballo fueron entorpecidos.

At your rebuke, God of Jacob, sank chariot and horse to sleep.

7 Tú, terrible eres tú: ¿y quién parará delante de ti, en comenzando tu ira?

Awful are you: who can stand before you, when once you are angry?

8 Desde los cielos hiciste oir juicio; la tierra tuvo temor y quedó suspensa,

The judgment you gave from heaven frightened the earth into silence,

9 Cuando te levantaste, oh Dios, al juicio, para salvar á todos los mansos de la tierra. (Selah)

when God arose to judgment to save the oppressed of the earth. (Selah)

10 Ciertamente la ira del hombre te acarreará alabanza: tú reprimirás el resto de las iras.

The fiercest will praise you, to you will the remnant hold festival.

11 Prometed, y pagad á Jehová vuestro Dios: todos los que están alrededor de él, traigan presentes al Terrible.

Vow and pay to Lord your God, and let all who are round him bring presents.

12 Cortará él el espíritu de los príncipes: terrible es á los reyes de la tierra.

He lops off the courage of princes, and with terror fills kings of the earth.
