Salmos 73

1 Salmo de Asaph. CIERTAMENTE bueno es Dios á Israel, á los limpios de corazón.

BOOK III A Psalm of Asaph. Surely God is good to Israel, even to such as are pure in heart.

2 Mas yo, casi se deslizaron mis pies; por poco resbalaron mis pasos.

But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.

3 Porque tuve envidia de los insensatos, viendo la prosperidad de los impíos.

For I was envious at the arrogant, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

4 Porque no hay ataduras para su muerte; antes su fortaleza está entera.

For there are no pangs at their death, and their body is sound.

5 No están ellos en el trabajo humano; ni son azotados con [los otros] hombres.

In the trouble of man they are not; neither are they plagued like men.

6 Por tanto soberbia los corona: cúbrense de vestido de violencia.

Therefore pride is as a chain about their neck; violence covereth them as a garment.

7 Sus ojos están salidos de gruesos: logran con creces los antojos del corazón.

Their eyes stand forth from fatness; they are gone beyond the imaginations of their heart.

8 Soltáronse, y hablan con maldad de [hacer] violencia; hablan con altanería.

They scoff, and in wickedness utter oppression; they speak as if there were none on high.

9 Ponen en el cielo su boca, y su lengua pasea la tierra.

They have set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.

10 Por eso su pueblo vuelve aquí, y aguas de lleno les son exprimidas.

Therefore His people return hither; and waters of fullness are drained out by them.

11 Y dicen: ¿Cómo sabe Dios? ¿y hay conocimiento en lo alto?

And they say: 'How doth God know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?'

12 He aquí estos impíos, sin ser turbados del mundo, alcanzaron riquezas.

Behold, such are the wicked; and they that are always at ease increase riches.

13 Verdaderamente en vano he limpiado mi corazón, y lavado mis manos en inocencia;

Surely in vain have I cleansed my heart, and washed my hands in innocency;

14 Pues he sido azotado todo el día, [y empezaba] mi castigo por las mañanas.

For all the day have I been plagued, and my chastisement came every morning.

15 Si dijera yo, Discurriré de esa suerte; he aquí habría negado la nación de tus hijos:

If I had said: 'I will speak thus', behold, I had been faithless to the generation of Thy children.

16 Pensaré pues para saber esto: es á mis ojos [duro] trabajo,

And when I pondered how I might know this, it was wearisome in mine eyes;

17 Hasta que venido al santuario de Dios, entenderé la postrimería de ellos.

Until I entered into the sanctuary of God, and considered their end.

18 Ciertamente los has puesto en deslizaderos; en asolamientos los harás caer.

Surely Thou settest them in slippery places; Thou hurlest them down to utter ruin.

19 ¡Cómo han sido asolados! ¡cuán en un punto! Acabáronse, fenecieron con turbaciones.

How are they become a desolation in a moment! They are wholly consumed by terrors.

20 Como sueño del que despierta, así, Señor, cuando despertares, menospreciarás sus apariencias.

As a dream when one awaketh, so, O Lord, when Thou arousest Thyself, Thou wilt despise their semblance.

21 Desazonóse á la verdad mi corazón, y en mis riñones sentía punzadas.

For my heart was in a ferment, and I was pricked in my reins.

22 Mas yo era ignorante, y no entendía: era como una bestia acerca de ti.

But I was brutish, and ignorant; I was as a beast before Thee.

23 Con todo, yo siempre estuve contigo: trabaste de mi mano derecha.

Nevertheless I am continually with Thee; Thou holdest my right hand.

24 Hasme guiado según tu consejo, y después me recibirás en gloria.

Thou wilt guide me with Thy counsel, and afterward receive me with glory.

25 ¿A quién tengo yo en los cielos? Y fuera de ti nada deseo en la tierra.

Whom have I in heaven but Thee? And beside Thee I desire none upon earth.

26 Mi carne y mi corazón desfallecen: [mas] la roca de mi corazón y mi porción es Dios para siempre.

My flesh and my heart faileth; but God is the rock of my heart and my portion for ever.

27 Porque he aquí, los que se alejan de ti perecerán: tú cortarás á todo aquel que fornicando, de ti [se aparta].

For, lo, they that go far from Thee shall perish; Thou dost destroy all them that go astray from Thee.

28 Y en cuanto á mí, el acercarme á Dios es el bien: he puesto en el Señor Jehová mi esperanza, para contar todas tus obras.

But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, that I may tell of all Thy works.
