Números 17
1 Y HABLÓ Jehová á Moisés, diciendo:
Adonai spoke to Moses [Drawn out], saying,
2 Habla á los hijos de Israel, y toma de ellos una vara por cada casa de los padres, de todos los príncipes de ellos, doce varas conforme á las casas de sus padres; y escribirás el nombre de cada uno sobre su vara.
“Speak to the children of Israel [God prevails], and take rods from them, one for each fathers’ house, of all their princes according to their fathers’ houses, twelve rods. Write each man’s name on his rod.
3 Y escribirás el nombre de Aarón sobre la vara de Leví; porque cada cabeza de familia de sus padres tendrá una vara.
You shall write Aaron [Light-bringer]’s name on the rod of Levi [United with]; for there shall be one rod for each head of their fathers’ houses.
4 Y las pondrás en el tabernáculo del testimonio delante del testimonio, donde yo me declararé á vosotros.
You shall lay them up in the Tent of Meeting before the testimony, where I meet with you.
5 Y será, que el varón que yo escogiere, su vara florecerá: y haré cesar de sobre mí las quejas de los hijos de Israel, con que murmuran contra vosotros.
It shall happen, that the rod of the man whom I shall choose shall bud. I will make the murmurings of the children of Israel [God prevails], which they murmur against you, cease from me.”
6 Y Moisés habló á los hijos de Israel, y todos los príncipes de ellos le dieron varas; cada príncipe por las casas de sus padres una vara, [en todas] doce varas; y la vara de Aarón estaba entre las varas de ellos.
Moses [Drawn out] spoke to the children of Israel [God prevails]; and all their princes gave him rods, for each prince one, according to their fathers’ houses, even twelve rods. Aaron [Light-bringer]’s rod was among their rods.
7 Y Moisés puso las varas delante de Jehová en el tabernáculo del testimonio.
Moses [Drawn out] laid up the rods before Adonai in the Tent of the Testimony.
8 Y aconteció que el día siguiente vino Moisés al tabernáculo del testimonio; y he aquí que la vara de Aarón de la casa de Leví había brotado, y echado flores, y arrojado renuevos, y producido almendras.
On the next day, Moses [Drawn out] went into the Tent of the Testimony; and behold, Aaron [Light-bringer]’s rod for the house of Levi [United with] had sprouted, budded, produced blossoms, and bore ripe almonds.
9 Entonces sacó Moisés todas las varas de delante de Jehová á todos los hijos de Israel; y ellos lo vieron, y tomaron cada uno su vara.
Moses [Drawn out] brought out all the rods from before Adonai to all the children of Israel [God prevails]. They looked, and each man took his rod.
10 Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: Vuelve la vara de Aarón delante del testimonio, para que se guarde por señal á los hijos rebeldes; y harás cesar sus quejas de sobre mí, porque no mueran.
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Put back the rod of Aaron [Light-bringer] before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the children of rebellion; that you may make an end of their murmurings against me, that they not die.”
11 E hízolo Moisés: como le mandó Jehová, así hizo.
Moses [Drawn out] did so. As Adonai enjoined him, so he did.
12 Entonces los hijos de Israel hablaron á Moisés, diciendo: He aquí nosotros somos muertos, perdidos somos, todos nosotros somos perdidos.
The children of Israel [God prevails] spoke to Moses [Drawn out], saying, “Behold, we perish! We are undone! We are all undone!
13 Cualquiera que se llegare, el que se acercare al tabernáculo de Jehová morirá: ¿acabaremos de perecer todos?
Everyone who keeps approaching Adonai’s tabernacle, dies! Will we all perish?”
