Génesis 15
1 DESPUÉS de estas cosas fué la palabra de Jehová á Abram en visión, diciendo: No temas, Abram; yo soy tu escudo, [y] tu galardón sobremanera grande.
And after these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram, I shield you, your reward shall be very great.
2 Y respondió Abram: Señor Jehová ¿qué me has de dar, siendo así que ando sin hijo, y el mayordomo de mi casa es ese Damasceno Eliezer?
And Abram said, Master [and] Lord, what will you give me? whereas I am departing without a child, but the son of Masek my home-born female slave, this Eliezer of Damascus [is mine heir.]
3 Dijo más Abram: Mira que no me has dado prole, y he aquí que es mi heredero uno nacido en mi casa.
And Abram said, [I am grieved] since you have given me no seed, but my home-born [servant] shall succeed me.
4 Y luego la palabra de Jehová fué á él diciendo: No te heredará éste, sino el que saldrá de tus entrañas será el que te herede.
And immediately there was a voice of the Lord to him, saying, This shall not be your heir; but he that shall come out of you shall be your heir.
5 Y sacóle fuera, y dijo: Mira ahora á los cielos, y cuenta las estrellas, si las puedes contar. Y le dijo: Así será tu simiente.
And he brought him out and said to him, Look up now to heaven, and count the stars, if you shall be able to number them fully, and he said, Thus shall your seed be.
6 Y creyó á Jehová, y contóselo por justicia.
And Abram believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness.
7 Y díjole: Yo soy Jehová, que te saqué de Ur de los Caldeos, para darte á heredar esta tierra.
And he said to him, I am God that brought you out of the land of the Chaldeans, so as to give you this land to inherit.
8 Y él respondió: Señor Jehová, ¿en qué conoceré que la tengo de heredar?
And he said, Master [and] Lord, how shall I know that I shall inherit it?
9 Y le dijo: Apártame una becerra de tres años, y una cabra de tres años, y un carnero de tres años, una tórtola también, y un palomino.
And he said to him, Take for me an heifer in her third year, and a she-goat in her third year, and a ram in his third year, and a dove and a pigeon.
10 Y tomó él todas estas cosas, y partiólas por la mitad, y puso cada mitad una enfrente de otra; mas no partió las aves.
So he took to him all these, and divided them in the midst, and set them opposite to each other, but the birds he did not divide.
11 Y descendían aves sobre los cuerpos muertos, y ojeábalas Abram.
And birds came down upon the bodies, [even] upon the divided parts of them, and Abram sat down by them.
12 Mas á la caída del sol sobrecogió el sueño á Abram, y he aquí que el pavor de una grande obscuridad cayó sobre él.
And about sunset a trance fell upon Abram, and behold! a great gloomy terror falls upon him.
13 Entonces dijo á Abram: Ten por cierto que tu simiente será peregrina en tierra no suya, y servirá á los [de allí], y serán [por ellos] afligidos cuatrocientos años.
And it was said to Abram, You shall surely know that your seed shall be a sojourner in a land not their won, and they shall enslave them, and afflict them, and humble them four hundred years.
14 Mas también á la gente á quien servirán, juzgaré yo; y después de esto saldrán con grande riqueza.
And the nation whoever they shall serve I will judge; and after this, they shall come forth hither with much property.
15 Y tú vendrás á tus padres en paz, y serás sepultado en buena vejez.
But you shall depart to your fathers in peace, nourished in a good old age.
16 Y en la cuarta generación volverán acá: porque aun no está cumplida la maldad del Amorrheo hasta aquí.
And in the fourth generation they shall return hither, for the sins of the Amorites are not yet filled up, even until now.
17 Y sucedió que puesto el sol, y ya obscurecido, dejóse ver un horno humeando, y una antorcha de fuego que pasó por entre los animales divididos.
And when the sun was about to set, there was a flame, and behold a smoking furnace and lamps of fire, which passed between these divided pieces.
18 En aquel día hizo Jehová un pacto con Abram diciendo: A tu simiente daré esta tierra desde el río de Egipto hasta el río grande, el río Eufrates;
In that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, To your seed I will give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river Euphrates.
19 Los Cineos, y los Ceneceos, y los Cedmoneos,
The Kenites, and the Kenezites, and the Kedmoneans,
20 Y los Hetheos, y los Pherezeos, y los Raphaitas,
and the Chettites, and the Pherezites, and the Raphaim,
21 Y los Amorrheos, y los Cananeos, y los Gergeseos, y los Jebuseos.
and the Amorites, and the Chananites, and the Evites, and the Gergesites, and the Jebusites.
