2 Samuel 6

1 Y DAVID tornó á juntar todos los escogidos de Israel, treinta mil.

And David, once more, gathered together all the choice young men in Israel, thirty thousand.

2 Y levantóse David, y fué con todo el pueblo que tenía consigo, de Baal de Judá, para hacer pasar de allí el arca de Dios, sobre la cual era invocado el nombre de Jehová de los ejércitos, que mora en ella entre los querubines.

Then David, and all the people that were with him, arose and went beyond Baale Judah, —to bring up from thence, the ark of God, the name whereof is called by the name of Yahweh of hosts, who inhabiteth the cherubim thereupon.

3 Y pusieron el arca de Dios sobre un carro nuevo, y lleváronla de la casa de Abinadab, que estaba en Gabaa: y Uzza y Ahio, hijos de Abinadab, guiaban el carro nuevo.

So they carried the ark of God in a new waggon, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, who was in Gibeah, —and, Uzza and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, were driving the new waggon.

4 Y cuando lo llevaban de la casa de Abinadab que estaba en Gabaa, con el arca de Dios, Ahio iba delante del arca.

So they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was in Gibeah, with the ark of God, —and, Ahio, was going before the ark.

5 Y David y toda la casa de Israel danzaban delante de Jehová con toda suerte de [instrumentos de] madera de haya; con arpas, salterios, adufes, flautas y címbalos.

And, David and all the house of Israel, were dancing for joy before Yahweh, with all boldness and with songs, —and with lyres, and with harps, and with timbrels, and with sistrums, and with cymbals.

6 Y cuando llegaron á la era de Nachôn, Uzza extendió [la mano] al arca de Dios, y túvola; porque los bueyes daban sacudidas.

And, when they came as far as the threshing-floor of Nachon, Uzzah thrust forth his hand unto the ark of God, and took hold of it, for the oxen were restive.

7 Y el furor de Jehová se encendió contra Uzza, é hiriólo allí Dios por aquella temeridad, y cayó allí muerto junto al arca de Dios.

Then was kindled the anger of Yahweh, against Uzzah, and God smote him there, for the error, —so that he died there, by the ark of God.

8 Y entristecióse David por haber herido Jehová á Uzza: y fué llamado aquel lugar Pérez-uzza, hasta hoy.

And it was a sadness unto David, for that Yahweh had broken in with a breach against Uzzah, —therefore called he that place, Perez-uzzah [as it is called] until this day.

9 Y temiendo David á Jehová aquel día, dijo: ¿Cómo ha de venir á mí el arca de Jehová?

And David was afraid of Yahweh, on that day, —and said, How can the ark of Yahweh come unto me?

10 No quiso pues David traer á sí el arca de Jehová á la ciudad de David; mas llevóla David á casa de Obed-edom Getheo.

So David would not remove unto him the ark of Yahweh, unto the city of David, —but David took it aside to the house of Obed-edom, the Gittite.

11 Y estuvo el arca de Jehová en casa de Obed-edom Getheo tres meses: y bendijo Jehová á Obed-edom y á toda su casa.

And the ark of Yahweh abode in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite, three months, —and Yahweh blessed Obed -edom, and all his household.

12 Y fué dado aviso al rey David, diciendo: Jehová ha bendecido la casa de Obed-edom, y todo lo que tiene, á causa del arca de Dios. Entonces David fué, y trajo el arca de Dios de casa de Obed-edom á la ciudad de David con alegría.

And it was told King David, saying, Yahweh hath blessed the household of Obed-edom, and all that he hath, because of the ark of God. David therefore went and brought up the ark of God, out of the house of Obed-edom, unto the city of David, with rejoicing.

13 Y como los que llevaban el arca de Dios habían andado seis pasos, sacrificaban un buey y [un carnero] grueso.

And so it was that, when they who bare the ark of Yahweh had stepped forward six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a heifer.

14 Y David saltaba con toda su fuerza delante de Jehová; y tenía vestido David un ephod de lino.

And, David, was dancing with all boldness before Yahweh, —David, being girt with an ephod of linen.

15 Así David y toda la casa de Israel llevaban el arca de Jehová con júbilo y sonido de trompeta.

So, David and all the house of Israel, were bringing up the ark of Yahweh, —with triumphant shoutings, and with the sound of a horn.

16 Y como el arca de Jehová llegó á la ciudad de David, aconteció que Michâl hija de Saúl miró desde una ventana, y vió al rey David que saltaba con toda su fuerza delante de Jehová: y menosprecióle en su corazón.

Now it so came about that, when the ark of Yahweh entered the city of David, Michal Saul’s daughter, looked out through the window, and saw King David, leaping and dancing before Yahweh, and she despised him, in her heart.

17 Metieron pues el arca de Jehová, y pusiéronla en su lugar en medio de una tienda que David le había tendido: y sacrificó David holocaustos y pacíficos delante de Jehová.

So they brought in the ark of Yahweh, and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent which David had stretched out for it, —and David caused to go up ascending-sacrifices before Yahweh, and peace-offerings.

18 Y como David hubo acabado de ofrecer los holocaustos y pacíficos, bendijo al pueblo en el nombre de Jehová de los ejércitos.

And, when David had finished offering up the ascending-sacrifice and the peace-offerings, he blessed the people in the name of Yahweh of hosts.

19 Y repartió á todo el pueblo, y á toda la multitud de Israel, así á hombres como á mujeres, á cada uno una torta de pan, y un pedazo de carne, y un frasco [de vino]. Y fuése todo el pueblo, cada uno á su casa.

And he apportioned to all the people, to all the multitude of Israel, both to men and to women—to every one, a loaf of bread, and a sweet drink, and a raisin-cake, —and all the people went their way, every one unto his own house;

20 Volvió luego David para bendecir su casa: y saliendo Michâl á recibir á David, dijo: ¡Cuán honrado ha sido hoy el rey de Israel, desnudándose hoy delante de las criadas de sus siervos, como se desnudara un juglar!

and David returned, to bless his household. Then came forth Michal Saul’s daughter to meet David, and said—How honoured, to-day, was the king of Israel in disrobing himself to-day, in the sight of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the low people, might disrobe himself?

21 Entonces David respondió á Michâl: Delante de Jehová, que me eligió más bien que á tu padre y á toda su casa, mandándome que fuese príncipe sobre el pueblo de Jehová, sobre Israel, danzaré delante de Jehová.

And David said unto Michal, Before Yahweh, I will dance, —blessed, be Yahweh, who made choice of me above thy father, and above all his house, putting me in charge as leader over the people of Yahweh, over Israel, —therefore will I dance before Yahweh;

22 Y aun me haré más vil que esta vez, y seré bajo á mis propios ojos; y delante de las criadas que dijiste, delante de ellas seré honrado.

and will make myself, yet more, lightly esteemed that this, and become lowly in mine own eyes, —nevertheless, with the handmaids of whom thou hast spoken, with them, shall I be honoured.

23 Y Michâl hija de Saúl nunca tuvo hijos hasta el día de su muerte.

Therefore, Michal Saul’s daughter, had no child, —unto the day of her death.
