Romanos 2

1 Por lo cual eres inexcusable, oh hombre, cualquiera que juzgas; porque en lo mismo que juzgas al otro, te condenas a ti mismo; porque lo mismo haces tú que juzgas a los otros.

THEREFORE thou art inexcusable, O man, even every one that judgeth: for in the very thing wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest art living in the practices of the same things.

2 Porque sabemos que el juicio de Dios es según verdad contra los que hacen tales cosas.

But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth, against those who practise such things.

3 ¿Y piensas esto, oh hombre, que juzgas a los que hacen tales cosas, haciendo las mismas, que tú escaparás el juicio de Dios?

For thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest those who do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

4 ¿O menosprecias las riquezas de su benignidad, y paciencia, y longanimidad: ignorando que la benignidad de Dios te guia a arrepentimiento?

Or despisest thou the riches of his kindness and patience and long-suffering, ignorant that this goodness of God is leading thee to repentance?

5 Antes, según tu dureza, y tu corazón impenitente, atesoras para ti mismo ira para el día de la ira, y de la manifestación del justo juicio de Dios;

But after thy obdurate and impenitent heart treasurest up for thyself wrath at the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,

6 El cual pagará a cada uno conforme a sus obras:

who will recompense to every man according to his works;

7 A los que perseverando en bien hacer, buscan gloria, y honra, e inmortalidad, dará la vida eterna; (aiōnios g166)

to those who, in the patient practice of good works, seek glory and honour and immortality―eternal life. (aiōnios g166)

8 Mas a los que son contenciosos, y que no obedecen a la verdad, antes obedecen a la injusticia, enojo, e ira.

But to those who are of a contentious spirit, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation, and wrath;

9 Tribulación y angustia sobre toda alma de hombre que obra lo malo, del Judío primeramente, y también del Griego;

tribulation and anguish upon every soul of man that doeth wickedness, of the Jew first, and also of the Greek.

10 Mas gloria, y honra, y paz a todo aquel que obra el bien, al Judío primeramente, y también al Griego:

But glory and honour and peace be to every man who doeth that which is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek:

11 Porque no hay acepción de personas para con Dios.

for there is no acceptance of persons with God.

12 Porque todos los que sin ley pecaron, sin ley también perecerán; y todos los que en la ley pecaron, por la ley serán juzgados.

For as many as have sinned without the law, shall perish also without the law: and as many as have sinned under the law shall be judged by the law;

13 Porque no los que oyen la ley son justos delante de Dios, mas los hacedores de la ley serán justificados.

for the hearers of the law are not righteous before God, but the doers of the law shall be counted righteous;

14 Porque cuando los Gentiles que no tienen la ley, hacen naturalmente las cosas de la ley, los tales aunque no tengan la ley, a sí mismos son ley:

(for when the Gentiles, who have not the law naturally, do the things of the law, these, though not having the law, are a law unto themselves:

15 Mostrando la obra de la ley escrita en sus corazones, dando testimonio juntamente sus conciencias; y acusándose mientras tanto, o también excusándose sus pensamientos, unos con otros,

which exhibit the practice of the law written on their hearts, their conscience also bearing its testimony, and their mutual reasonings at intervals bringing accusations or forming excuses; )

16 En el día que juzgará el Señor los secretos de los hombres conforme a mi evangelio, por Jesu Cristo.

in the day when God shall judge the hidden things of men, according to my gospel by Jesus Christ.

17 He aquí, tú te llamas por sobrenombre Judío, y estás reposado en la ley, y te glorías en Dios,

Lo! thou art named a Jew, and restest on the law, and boastest in God,

18 Y sabes su voluntad, y apruebas lo mejor, siendo instruido por la ley;

and knowest the will of God, and bringest to the test the things that are different, being instructed out of the law;

19 Y te jactas de que tú mismo eres guía de los ciegos, luz de los que están en tinieblas,

and hast confidence that thou thyself art a leader of the blind, a light of those who are in darkness,

20 Enseñador de los que no saben, maestro de niños, que tienes la forma de la ciencia y de la verdad en la ley.

an instructor of the uninformed, a teacher of babes, holding the form of knowledge and of truth in the law.

21 Tú, pues, que enseñas a otro, ¿no te enseñas a ti mismo? Tú que predicas que no se ha de hurtar, ¿hurtas?

Thou therefore who teachest another, dost thou not teach thyself? thou that proclaimest aloud that a man should not steal, dost thou steal?

22 Tú que dices que no se ha de adulterar, ¿adulteras? Tú que abominas los ídolos, ¿haces sacrilegio?

thou that sayest, Do not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that holdest idols in abomination, dost thou commit sacrilege?

23 Tú que te jactas de la ley, ¿por transgresión de la ley deshonras a Dios?

thou who gloriest in the law, dishonourest thou God by the transgression of the law?

24 Porque el nombre de Dios es blasfemado por causa de vosotros entre los Gentiles, como está escrito.

for the name of God is blasphemed through you among the heathen, as it is written.

25 Porque la circuncisión a la verdad aprovecha, si guardares la ley; mas si eres rebelde a la ley, tu circuncisión es hecha incircuncisión.

For circumcision indeed is advantageous, if thou practise the law: but if thou art a transgressor of the law, thy circumcision becomes uncircumcision,

26 De manera que si el incircunciso guardare las justicias de la ley, ¿no será tenida su incircuncisión por circuncisión?

If then the uncircumcision observe the righteous judgments of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be accounted for circumcision?

27 Y lo que de su natural es incircunciso, si guardare la ley, ¿no te juzgará a ti, que por la letra y por la circuncisión eres rebelde a la ley?

And the uncircumcision by nature which fulfilleth the law shall condemn thee, who through the letter and circumcision art a transgressor of the law.

28 Porque no es Judío el que lo es por de fuera, ni es la circuncisión la que es por de fuera, en la carne;

For not he who is outwardly such, is the Jew; neither is that which is outward in the flesh, circumcision.

29 Mas el que lo es por de dentro Judío es; y la circuncisión es la del corazón, en el espíritu, no en la letra: la alabanza del cual no es de los hombres, sino de Dios.

But he is a Jew who is such inwardly; and circumcision is of the heart, in spirit, not in letter; whose praise is not from men, but from God.
