Romanos 1

1 Pablo, siervo de Jesu Cristo, llamado a ser apóstol, apartado para el evangelio de Dios,

From Paul, a slave of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, set apart for a gospel of God,

2 Que él había antes prometido, por sus profetas en las Santas Escrituras,

which through his prophets he promised beforetime, in holy writings;

3 De su Hijo Jesu Cristo, Señor nuestro, (el cual fue hecho de la simiente de David según la carne,

this gospel is concerning his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of David’s posterity in respect of his bodily nature,

4 Y fue declarado ser el Hijo de Dios con poder, según el Espíritu de santidad, por la resurrección de los muertos; )

but was by his resurrection from the dead instated as Son of God, with power, in respect of his spirit of holiness.

5 Por el cual recibimos la gracia y el apostolado, para hacer que se obedezca a la fe en todas las naciones, en su nombre:

It is through him, even Jesus Christ our Lord, that I received grace and apostleship to promote obedience to the faith among all the Gentiles, for his name’s sake;

6 (Entre las cuales sois también vosotros los llamados de Jesu Cristo: )

among whom you also are called to be Jesus Christ’s.

7 A todos los que estáis en Roma, amados de Dios, llamados a ser santos: Gracia a vosotros y paz de Dios nuestro Padre, y del Señor Jesu Cristo.

To all that are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints. May God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ, bless you, and give you peace.

8 Primeramente, doy gracias a mi Dios por Jesu Cristo acerca de todos vosotros, de que se habla de vuestra fe por todo el mundo.

First I thank my God, through Jesus Christ, for all of you, because your faith is being proclaimed throughout all the world.

9 Porque testigo me es Dios, al cual sirvo en mi espíritu en el evangelio de su Hijo, que sin cesar me acuerdo de vosotros siempre en mis oraciones;

God is my witness, to whom I render holy service in my spirit in the gospel of his Son, how unceasingly I am ever making mention of you in my prayers,

10 Rogando, si de algún modo ahora al fin haya de tener por la voluntad de Dios próspero viaje para venir a vosotros.

always entreating him that now at length, if such be his will, the way may be made clear for me to come to you.

11 Porque deseo en gran manera veros, para repartir con vosotros algún don espiritual, a fin de que seáis confirmados;

For I am longing so to see you, in order to impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established;

12 Es a saber, para ser juntamente consolado con vosotros por la mutua fe, la vuestra y juntamente la mía.

that is, that I with you may be encouraged by you, each of us by the other’s faith, yours and mine.

13 Mas no quiero, hermanos, que ignoréis, que muchas veces me he propuesto de venir a vosotros, (empero hasta ahora he sido estorbado, ) para tener también entre vosotros algún fruto, como entre los otros Gentiles.

I want you to know, brothers, that many a time I have planned to come to you - though until now I have been hindered - so as to have some harvest-fruit among you also, even as I have among the rest of the Gentiles.

14 A Griegos y a bárbaros, a sabios y a ignorantes soy deudor.

To Greeks and to barbarians, to the cultured and to the uncultured, I have a debt to discharge.

15 Así que, en cuanto está en mí, pronto estoy a anunciar el evangelio también a los que estáis en Roma.

So much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome.

16 Porque no me avergüenzo del evangelio de Cristo; porque es poder de Dios para salvación a todo aquel que cree: al Judío primeramente, y también al Griego.

FOR I AM PROUD OF THE GOSPEL. IT IS GOD’S SAVING POWER FOR EVERY ONE WHO BELIEVES. FOR THE JEW FIRST, AND ALSO FOR THE GENTILE.

17 Porque en él la justicia de Dios se descubre de fe en fe, como está escrito: El justo vivirá por la fe.

FOR IN IT IS BEING REVEALED A RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH PROCEEDS FROM GOD, FROM FAITH UNTO FAITH; AS IT IS WRITTEN.

18 Porque se manifiesta la ira de Dios desde el cielo contra toda impiedad e injusticia de los hombres, que detienen la verdad con injusticia:

For God’s wrath is ever being revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who smother the truth by their unrighteousness.

19 Porque lo que de Dios se puede conocer, en ellos es manifiesto; porque Dios se lo ha manifestado.

This is so because that which may be known of God is manifest among them; for God has made it manifest to them.

20 Porque las cosas invisibles de él, entendidas son desde la creación del mundo, por medio de las cosas que son hechas, se ven claramente, es a saber, su eterno poder y divinidad, para que queden sin excusa. (aïdios g126)

For ever since the creation of the world his invisible nature, even his everlasting power and divinity, has been clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made. So they have no excuse. (aïdios g126)

21 Porque habiendo conocido a Dios, no le glorificaron como a Dios, ni le dieron gracias: antes se desvanecieron en sus discursos, y el tonto corazón de ellos fue entenebrecido:

For although they knew God, yet they did not glorify him as God, nor give him thanks; but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless minds were darkened.

22 Que diciéndose ser sabios, fueron hechos insensatos;

While they professed to be wise, they became fools,

23 Y trocaron la gloria del Dios incorruptible en semejanza de imagen de hombre corruptible, y de aves, y de animales de cuatro pies, y de reptiles.

and exchanged the majesty of the imperishable God for an idol, graven in the likeness of perishable man, or of birds and four-footed beasts and creeping things.

24 Por lo cual Dios también los entregó a la inmundicia, según las concupiscencias de sus corazones, para que deshonrasen sus cuerpos entre sí:

So God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their own bodies;

25 Que mudaron la verdad de Dios en mentira, y honraron y sirvieron a la criatura antes que al Creador, el cual es bendito por los siglos. Amén. (aiōn g165)

because they exchanged the truth of God for an untruth, and worshiped and served the creature, rather than the Creator who is blessed forever. Amen. (aiōn g165)

26 Por lo cual Dios los entregó a afectos vergonzosos; porque aun sus mujeres mudaron el natural uso, en el uso que es contra naturaleza.

That is why God has given them up to passions of dishonor; for on the one hand their women actually changed the natural function of sex into that which is against nature;

27 Y asimismo, los varones, dejado el uso natural de la mujer, se encendieron en sus concupiscencias los unos con los otros, cometiendo torpezas varones con varones, y recibiendo en sí mismos la recompensa de su error que convino.

and on the other hand their men likewise abandoned the natural use of women, and were ablaze with passion for one another; men with men practising shameless acts and receiving in their own person that recompense of their wrong-doing which necessarily followed.

28 Y como a ellos no les pareció bien tener a Dios en su conocimiento, Dios también los entregó a un perverso entendimiento, para que hiciesen lo que no conviene;

And just as they refused to continue to retain God in their knowledge, so did God cast them out to an outcast mind, to do those things which were indecent.

29 Atestados de toda iniquidad, de fornicación, de malicia, de avaricia, de maldad: llenos de envidia, de homicidios, de contiendas, de engaños, de malignidades:

They were overflowing with every kind of iniquity, depravity, greed, and malice. They were full of envy, murder, quarreling, deceit, and malignity.

30 Murmuradores, detractores, aborrecedores de Dios, injuriosos, soberbios, altivos, inventores de males, desobedientes a sus padres,

They became whisperers, back-biters, hated of God, insolent, haughty, boastful. They invented sins. They were disobedient to parents.

31 Insensatos, desleales, sin afecto natural, implacables, sin misericordia:

They were without sense, without faith, without natural affection, without mercy.

32 Los cuales, entendiendo la justicia de Dios, a saber, que los que hacen tales cosas son dignos de muerte; no solamente las hacen, mas aun se complacen con los que las hacen.

Though they knew well the ordinance of God, that those who practise such vices are worthy of death, they not only continue to do the same, but were even applauding those who practise vice.
