Salmos 87

1 Su cimiento es en montes de santidad.

The city that Yahweh established is on his sacred hill.

2 Ama Jehová las puertas de Sión, más que todas las moradas de Jacob.

He loves that city, Jerusalem, more than he loves any other city in Israel.

3 Cosas ilustres son dichas de ti, ciudad de Dios. (Selah)

[You people in] [APO] the city that God (owns/lives in), people say wonderful things about your city.

4 Yo me acordaré de Rahab y de Babilonia, entre los que me conocen: he aquí Palestina, y Tiro, con Etiopía: este nació allá.

[Some of those who know about God are the people of] Egypt and Babylonia, and also [the people of] Philistia and Tyre and Ethiopia; [some day they all] will say, “[Although I was not born in Jerusalem], [because I belong to Yahweh, it is as though] I was born there.”

5 Y de Sión se dirá: Este, y aquel es nacido en ella: y el mismo Altísimo la fortificará.

And concerning Jerusalem, people will say [“It is as though] everyone was born there, and Almighty God will cause that city to remain strong/safe/secure.”

6 Jehová contará, cuando se escribieren los pueblos: Este nació allí. (Selah)

Yahweh will write a list of [the names of] the people of various groups [who belong to him], and he will say that [he considers them] all to be citizens of Jerusalem.

7 Y cantores con músicos de flautas: todas mis fuentes estarán en ti.

They will all dance and sing, saying, “Jerusalem is the source of all our blessings.”
