Salmos 44
1 Dios, con nuestros oídos hemos oído, nuestros padres nos han contado la obra que hiciste en sus tiempos, en los tiempos antiguos.
“For the leader of the music. A psalm of the sons of Korah.” O God! we have heard with our ears, Our fathers have told us, What deeds thou didst in their days, In the days of old.
2 Tú con tu mano echaste a las naciones, y los plantaste a ellos: afligiste los pueblos, y los enviaste.
With thine own hand didst thou drive out the nations, And plant our fathers; Thou didst destroy the nations, And cause our fathers to flourish.
3 Porque no heredaron la tierra por su espada, ni su brazo les libró; si no tu diestra, y tu brazo, y la luz de tu rostro, por que los amaste.
For not by their own swords did they gain possession of the land, Nor did their own arms give them victory; But thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance; For thou didst favor them!
4 Tú eres mi Rey o! Dios: manda saludes a Jacob.
Thou art my king, O God! O send deliverance to Jacob!
5 Por ti acornearemos a nuestros enemigos: en tu nombre atropellaremos a nuestros adversarios.
Through thee we may cast down our enemies; Through thy name we may trample upon our adversaries!
6 Porque no confiaré en mi arco, ni mi espada me salvará.
I trust not in my bow, Nor can my sword save me.
7 Porque tú nos has guardado de nuestros enemigos: y a los que nos aborrecieron, has avergonzado.
But it is thou only who savest us from our enemies, And puttest to shame those who hate us!
8 En Dios nos alabamos todo el día; y para siempre loaremos tu nombre. (Selah)
In God will we glory continually; Yea, we will praise thy name for ever! (Pause)
9 También nos has desechado, y nos has hecho avergonzar; y no sales en nuestros ejércitos.
Yet now thou hast cast us off, and put us to shame; Thou goest not forth with our armies.
10 Hicístenos volver atrás del enemigo: y los que nos aborrecieron, nos saquearon para sí.
Thou makest us turn back from the enemy, And they who hate us make our goods their prey.
11 Pusístenos como a ovejas para comer: y esparcístenos entre las naciones.
Thou makest us like sheep destined for food, And scatterest us among the nations.
12 Has vendido a tu pueblo de balde; y no pujaste en sus precios.
Thou sellest thy people for nought, And increasest not thy wealth by their price.
13 Pusístenos por vergüenza a nuestros vecinos, por escarnio y por burla a nuestros al derredores.
Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbors, A scorn and a derision to those who are around us.
14 Pusístenos por proverbio entre las naciones; por movimiento de cabeza en los pueblos.
Thou makest us a byword among the nations, And causest the people to shake their heads at us.
15 Cada día mi vergüenza está delante de mí, y la confusión de mi rostro me cubre,
My ignominy is continually before me, And shame covereth my face,
16 De la voz del que me avergüenza y deshonra; del enemigo, y del que se venga.
On account of the voice of the scoffer and the reviler, And on account of the enemy and the avenger.
17 Todo esto nos ha venido, y no nos hemos olvidado de ti; y no hemos faltado a tu concierto.
All this hath come upon us; Yet have we not forgotten thee, Nor have we been false to thy covenant.
18 No se ha vuelto atrás nuestro corazón; y no se han apartado nuestros pasos de tus caminos;
Our hearts, have not wandered from thee, Nor have our feet gone out of thy path;
19 Cuando nos quebrantaste en el lugar de los dragones, y nos cubriste con sombra de muerte.
Though thou hast crushed us in a land of jackals, And covered us with thick darkness.
20 Si nos olvidásemos del nombre de nuestro Dios; y si alzásemos nuestras manos a dios ajeno;
If we had forgotten the name of our God, Or stretched forth our hands to a strange God,
21 ¿Dios no demandaría esto? porque él conoce los secretos del corazón.
Surely God would search it out; For he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
22 Porque por tu causa nos matan cada día; somos tenidos como ovejas para el degolladero.
But for thy sake we are killed all the day; We are counted as sheep for the slaughter.
23 Despierta, ¿por qué duermes, Señor? Despierta, no te alejes para siempre.
Awake! why sleepest thou, O Lord? Arise! cast us not off for ever!
24 ¿Por qué escondes tu rostro, y te olvidas de nuestra aflicción, y de nuestra opresión?
Wherefore dost thou hide thy face, And forget our affliction and oppression?
25 Porque nuestra alma se ha agobiado hasta el polvo: nuestro vientre está pegado con la tierra.
Our soul is bowed down to the dust; Our body cleaveth to the earth.
26 Levántate para ayudarnos; y redímenos por tu misericordia.
Arise, O thou, our strength! And deliver us, for thy mercy's sake!
