Salmos 37
1 No te enojes con los malignos, ni tengas envidia de los que hacen iniquidad.
“Of David.” Do not fret thyself because of the evil-doers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 Porque como yerba serán presto cortados: y como verdura de renuevo caerán.
For like the grass they shall soon be mowed down, and like the green herb shall they wither.
3 Espera en Jehová, y haz bien; vive en la tierra, y mantén verdad.
Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed [thyself] with truthfulness.
4 Y deléitate en Jehová: y él te dará las peticiones de tu corazón.
And delight thyself in the Lord, and he will give thee the wishes of thy heart.
5 Vuelve hacia Jehová tu camino: y espera en él, y él hará.
Commit thy way unto the Lord, and trust in him: and he will accomplish it.
6 Y sacará, como la lumbre, tu justicia: y tus derechos como el medio día.
And he will bring forth as the light thy righteousness, and the justice of thy [cause] as the noonday.
7 Calla a Jehová, y espera en él: no te enojes con el que prospera en su camino, con el hombre que hace maldades.
Be silent before the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who practices wicked devices.
8 Déjate de la ira, y deja el enojo: no te enojes en ninguna manera para hacerte malo.
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9 Porque los malignos serán talados: y los que esperan a Jehová, ellos heredarán la tierra.
For evil-doers shall be cut off; but those that wait upon the Lord, these—shall truly inherit the land.
10 Y de aquí a poco no será el malo: y contemplarás sobre su lugar, y no parecerá.
For yet but for a little while, and the wicked shall be no more: yea, thou wilt look carefully at his place, and he shall not be there.
11 Y los mansos heredarán la tierra; y deleitarse han con la multitud de la paz.
But the meek shall inherit the land, and shall delight themselves because of the abundance of peace.
12 Piensa el impío contra el justo; y cruje sobre él sus dientes.
The wicked purposeth evil against the just, and gnasheth against him with his teeth.
13 El Señor se reirá de él: porque ve que vendrá su día.
The Lord will laugh at him; for he seeth that his day is coming.
14 Los impíos desenvainaron espada, y entesaron su arco, para hacer arruinar al pobre y al menesteroso: para degollar a los que andan camino derecho.
The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cause the poor and needy to fall, and to slaughter such as are of an upright course [of life].
15 La espada de ellos entrará en su mismo corazón; y su arco será quebrado.
[But] their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
16 Mejor es lo poco del justo, que las riquezas de muchos pecadores.
Better is the little that the righteous hath, than the great riches of many wicked.
17 Porque los brazos de los impíos serán quebrados: y el que sustenta a los justos es Jehová.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the upholder of the righteous is the Lord.
18 Conoce Jehová los días de los perfectos: y su heredad será para siempre.
The Lord regardeth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall endure for ever.
19 No serán avergonzados en el mal tiempo: y en los días de la hambre serán hartos.
They shall not be made ashamed in the time of unhappiness; and in the days of famine shall they be satisfied.
20 Porque los impíos perecerán; y los enemigos de Jehová, como lo principal de los carneros, serán consumidos: como humo se consumirán.
But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the beauty of the meadow: they pass away; in smoke they pass away.
21 El impío toma prestado, y no paga: y el justo tiene misericordia, y da.
The wicked borroweth, and repayeth not; but the righteous is beneficent, and giveth.
22 Porque los benditos de él, heredarán la tierra: y los malditos de él, serán talados.
For those blessed of him shall inherit the land; and those cursed of him shall be cut off.
23 Por Jehová son ordenados los pasos del hombre piadoso, y él quiere su camino.
By the Lord are the steps of the righteous man established; and he findeth pleasure in his course [of life].
24 Cuando cayere, no será postrado: porque Jehová sustenta su mano.
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the Lord upholdeth his hand.
25 Mozo fui, y he envejecido, y no he visto justo desamparado, ni su simiente que busque pan.
I have been young, and I am also grown old: yet have I never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed seeking for bread.
26 Todo el día tiene misericordia, y presta: y su simiente es para bendición.
He is all the time beneficent, and lendeth: and his seed will be for a blessing.
27 Apártate del mal, y haz el bien: y vivirás para siempre.
Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
28 Porque Jehová ama el derecho, y no desamparará a sus misericordiosos; para siempre serán guardados: y la simiente de los impíos será talada.
For the Lord loveth justice, and never forsaketh his pious servants: they are for ever preserved; but the seed of the wicked will be cut off.
29 Los justos heredarán la tierra, y vivirán para siempre sobre ella.
The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell for ever therein.
30 La boca del justo hablará sabiduría, y su lengua hablará juicio.
The mouth of the righteous uttereth wisdom, and his tongue speaketh what is just.
31 La ley de su Dios está en su corazón, por tanto sus pies no titubearán.
The law of his God is in his heart: none of his steps shall slip.
32 Asecha el impío al justo, y procura matarle.
The wicked looketh out for the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
33 Jehová no le dejará en sus manos; ni le condenará cuando le juzgaren.
The Lord will not leave him in his hand, and will not condemn him when he is judged.
34 Espera a Jehová, y guarda su camino, y él te ensalzará para heredar la tierra: cuando los pecadores serán talados, verás.
Wait on the Lord, and keep his way, and he will exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, shalt thou look on.
35 Yo ví al impío robusto, y reverdeciendo como un laurel verde:
I have seen the wicked terrible in power, and striking root like a green tree in its native soil.
36 Y se pasó, y he aquí no parece: y le busqué, y no fue hallado.
Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was no more: and I sought him, but he could not be found.
37 Considera al perfecto, y mira por el recto, porque la postrimería de cada uno de ellos es paz.
Observe the perfect man, and behold the upright; for there is a [happy] future for the man of peace.
38 Mas los rebelados fueron todos a una destruidos: la postrimería de los impíos fue talada.
But the transgressors are destroyed together: the future of the wicked is cut off.
39 Y la salud de los justos fue Jehová, y su fortaleza en el tiempo de la angustia:
And the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord: he is their strong-hold in the time of distress.
40 Y Jehová los ayudó, y los escapa, y los escapará de los impíos: y los salvará, por cuanto esperaron en él.
And the Lord helpeth them, and delivereth them; he will deliver them from the wicked, and save them; because they have put their trust in him.
