Salmos 16
1 Guárdame, o! Dios: porque en ti he confiado.
God, protect me because I go to you to keep me safe!
2 Dijiste, o! alma mía, a Jehová: Tú eres, Señor; mi bien no viene a ti:
I said to Yahweh, “You are my Lord; all the good things that I have come from you.”
3 A los santos que están en la tierra, y a los fuertes, toda mi voluntad en ellos.
Your people who live in this land are wonderful; I delight to be with them.
4 Multiplicarán sus dolores de los que se apresuraren tras otro dios; no derramaré sus derramaduras de sangre, ni tomaré sus nombres en mis labios.
Those who choose to worship other gods will have many things that cause them to be sad. I will not join them when they make sacrifices [to their gods]; I will not even join them when they speak [MTY] the names of their gods.
5 Jehová la porción de mi parte, y de mi vaso: tú sustentarás mi suerte.
Yahweh, you are the one whom I have chosen, and you give me great blessings. You protect me and control what happens to me.
6 Las cuerdas me cayeron en lugares deleitosos: asimismo la heredad se hermoseó sobre mí.
Yahweh has given me a wonderful place in which to live; I am delighted with all the things that he has given me [MET].
7 Bendeciré a Jehová, que me aconseja; aun en las noches me enseñan mis riñones.
I will praise Yahweh, the one who teaches/disciplines me; even at night [he] you put in my mind what is right for me to do.
8 A Jehová he puesto delante de mí siempre: porque estando él a mi diestra, no seré conmovido.
I know that Yahweh is always with me. He is beside me; so nothing will (perturb me/cause me to be worried).
9 Por tanto se alegró mi corazón, y se gozó mi gloria: también mi carne reposará segura.
Therefore I am glad and I [MTY, DOU] rejoice; I can rest securely
10 Porque no dejarás mi alma en el sepulcro: ni darás tu Santo para que vea corrupción. (Sheol h7585)
because you, Yahweh, will not allow my soul/spirit to remain in the place where the dead people are; you will not allow me, your godly one, to stay there. (Sheol h7585)
11 Hacerme has saber la senda de la vida, hartura de alegrías hay con tu rostro: deleites en tu diestra para siempre.
You will show me the road that leads to [receiving eternal] life, and you will make me joyful when I am with you. I will have pleasure forever when I am (at your right hand/seated next to you).
