Salmos 127

1 Si Jehová no edificare la casa, en vano trabajan los que la edifican: Si Jehová no guardare la ciudad, en vano vela la guarda.

A Song of Ascents. Solomon’s. If, Yahweh, build not the house, in vain, have the builders of it toiled thereon, If, Yahweh, watch not the city, in vain, hath the watchman kept awake:

2 Por demás os es el madrugar a levantaros, el veniros tarde a reposar, el comer pan de dolores: así dará a su amado el sueño.

Vain for you, —to be early in rising, to be late in lying down, to be eating the bread of wearisome toil, So, would he give his beloved one sleep.

3 He aquí, heredad de Jehová son los hijos: cosa de estima el fruto de vientre.

Lo! an inheritance from Yahweh, are children, A reward, the fruit of the womb:

4 Como saetas en mano del valiente, así son los hijos de las juventudes.

As arrows in the hand of a warrior, so, are the children of young men.

5 Bienaventurado el varón que hinchió su aljaba de ellos: no será avergonzado, cuando hablare con los enemigos en la puerta.

How happy the man who hath filled his quiver with them! They will not be ashamed, but will speak with enemies in the gate.
