San Mateo 19
1 Y aconteció, que acabando Jesús estas palabras, se retiró de Galilea, y vino a los términos de Judea, pasado el Jordán.
It came about after Jesus had finished these teachings, that he removed from Galilee, and went to that part of Judea which lay across the Jordan.
2 Y le siguieron grandes multitudes, y los sanó allí.
A great multitude followed him, and he healed them there.
3 Entonces se llegaron a él los Fariseos, tentándole, y diciéndole: ¿Es lícito al hombre despedir a su mujer por cualquiera causa?
Presently some of the Pharisees came up to him, and made test of him by asking, "Is it right for a man to divorce his wife for every cause?"
4 Y él respondiendo, les dijo: ¿No habéis leído que el que los hizo al principio, macho y hembra los hizo,
"Have you not read." he answered, "that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said,
5 Y dijo: Por tanto el hombre dejará padre y madre, y se unirá a su mujer, y serán dos en una carne?
"For this cause shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave to his wife; and the two shall be one flesh?
6 Así que no son ya más dos, sino una carne. Por tanto lo que Dios juntó, no lo aparte el hombre.
"Thus they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate."
7 Dícenle: ¿Por qué pues Moisés mandó dar carta de divorcio, y despedirla?
They answered, "Why then did Moses command the husband to give her’a written bill of divorce,’ and so to put her away?"
8 Díjoles: Por la dureza de vuestro corazón Moisés os permitió despedir vuestras mujeres; mas al principio no fue así.
"Moses," said Jesus, "permitted you to divorce your wives on account of the hardness of your hearts, but from the beginning it was not so.
9 Y yo os digo, que cualquiera que despidiere a su mujer, sino fuere por fornicación, y se casare con otra, adultera; y el que se casare con la despedida, adultera.
"And I tell you that any man who divorces his wife for any cause except her unfaithfulness, and marries another woman, commits adultery."
10 Dícenle sus discípulos: Si así es la condición del hombre con su mujer, no conviene casarse.
"If that is the position of a man in relation to his wife," answered the disciples, "it is better not to marry."
11 Entonces él les dijo: No todos son capaces de recibir este dicho: sino aquellos a quien es dado.
He answered them. "Not all are accepting this teaching, but only those to whom it has been granted.
12 Porque hay eunucos, que nacieron así del vientre de su madre; y hay eunucos, que han sido hechos eunucos por los hombres; y hay eunucos, que se han hecho eunucos a sí mismos por causa del reino de los cielos. El que puede recibir lo, recíba lo.
"For there are eunuchs who have been such from birth; others who have been made such by men; and others who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of God. He who is able to receive this, let him receive it."
13 Entonces le fueron presentados unos niños, para que pusiese las manos sobre ellos, y orase; y los discípulos les riñeron.
Then young children were brought to him, that he might lay his hands on them and pray. His disciples interfered, but Jesus said to them.
14 Mas Jesús dijo: Dejád a los niños, y no les impidáis de venir a mí; porque de los tales es el reino de los cielos.
"Let the little children come to me, and forbid them not; for it is to the childlike that the kingdom of heaven belongs."
15 Y habiendo puesto sobre ellos las manos, se partió de allí.
So he laid his hands upon them, and departed from that place.
16 Y, he aquí, uno llegándose, le dijo: Maestro bueno, ¿qué bien haré, para tener la vida eterna? (aiōnios g166)
But look! a certain man came up to him and asked, "Teacher, what good thing shall I do to inherit eternal life?" (aiōnios g166)
17 Y él le dijo: ¿Por qué me dices bueno? Ninguno es bueno sino uno, es a saber, Dios. Mas si quieres entrar en la vida, guarda los mandamientos.
"Why do you ask me about what is good?" asked Jesus. "There is but One who is good. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments."
18 Dícele: ¿Cuáles? Y Jesús dijo: No matarás: No adulterarás: No hurtarás: No dirás falso testimonio:
"Which commandments?" asked the man. Jesus replied. "Thou shalt not kill; Thou shalt not commit adultery; Thou shalt not steal; Thou shalt not bear false witness;
19 Honra a tu padre y a tu madre: Y, amarás a tu prójimo, como a ti mismo.
"Honor thy father and thy mother; and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself."
20 Dícele el mancebo: Todo esto guardé desde mi mocedad: ¿Qué más me falta?
The young man answered. "I have carefully kept them all. What yet do I lack?"
21 Dícele Jesús: Si quieres ser perfecto, anda, vende lo que tienes, y da lo a los pobres; y tendrás tesoro en el cielo; y ven, y sígueme.
"If you want to be perfect," said Jesus, "go, sell your property, give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me."
22 Y oyendo el mancebo esta palabra, se fue triste; porque tenía muchas posesiones.
But when the young man heard this teaching, he went away sorrowful, for he was one who had much property.
23 Entonces Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: De cierto os digo, que el rico dificilmente entrará en el reino de los cielos.
So Jesus said to his disciples. "In solemn truth I tell you that a rich man will find it difficult to enter the kingdom of heaven.
24 Y además os digo, que más fácil es pasar un camello por el ojo de una aguja, que el rico entrar en el reino de Dios.
"I tell you again, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven."
25 Sus discípulos oyendo estas cosas se espantaron en gran manera, diciendo: ¿Quién pues podrá ser salvo?
When they heard this the disciples were utterly astounded. "Who then can be saved?" they exclaimed. Jesus looked at them.
26 Y mirándo los Jesús, les dijo: Acerca de los hombres imposible es esto: mas acerca de Dios todo es posible.
"With men this is impossible," he said, "but with God all things are possible."
27 Entonces respondiendo Pedro, le dijo: He aquí, nosotros hemos dejado todo, y te hemos seguido, ¿qué pues tendremos?
Whereupon Peter said to Jesus. "Look, Master, we have forsaken everything and followed you. Now what shall be our reward?"
28 Y Jesús les dijo: De cierto os digo, que vosotros que me habéis seguido, cuando en la regeneración se asentará el Hijo del hombre en el trono de su gloria, vosotros también os sentaréis sobre doce tronos, para juzgar a las doce tribus de Israel.
"In solemn truth I tell you," Jesus answered, "that in the New Creation, when the Son of man shall sit on the throne of his glory, you also who have followed me shall sit on twelve thrones, to govern the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 Y cualquiera que dejare casas, o hermanos, o hermanas, o padre, o madre, o mujer, o hijos, o tierras, por mi nombre, recibirá cien veces tanto, y la vida eterna tendrá por herencia. (aiōnios g166)
"And every one who has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or lands, for my sake, shall many times as much, and fall heir to eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
30 Mas muchos que son primeros serán postreros; y los postreros, primeros.
"But many who are first shall be last, and many who are last shall be first.
