San Mateo 15
1 Entonces llegaron a Jesús ciertos escribas y Fariseos de Jerusalem, diciendo:
Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, who were of Jerusalem, saying,
2 ¿Por qué tus discípulos traspasan la tradición de los ancianos? porque no lavan sus manos cuando comen pan.
Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
3 Y él respondiendo, les dijo: ¿Por qué también vosotros traspasáis el mandamiento de Dios por vuestra tradición?
But he answered and said to them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
4 Porque Dios mandó, diciendo: Honra a tu padre y a tu madre; y: El que maldijere a padre o a madre, muera de muerte.
For God commanded, saying, Honor thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
5 Mas vosotros decís: Cualquiera que dijere a su padre o a su madre: Toda ofrenda mía a ti aprovechará;
But ye say, Whoever shall say to [his] father or [his] mother, [It is] a gift, by whatever thou mightest be profited by me;
6 Y no honrare a su padre o a su madre, será libre. Así habéis invalidado el mandamiento de Dios por vuestra tradición.
And honor not his father or his mother, [he shall be free]. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.
7 Hipócritas, bien profetizó de vosotros Isaías, diciendo:
[Ye] hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
8 Este pueblo con su boca se acerca a mí, y con sus labios me honra; mas su corazón lejos está de mí.
This people draw nigh to me with their mouth, and honor me with [their] lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 Mas en vano me honran enseñando como doctrinas, mandamientos de hombres.
But in vain they do worship me, teaching [for] doctrines the commandments of men.
10 Y llamando a sí a la multitud, les dijo: Oíd, y entendéd.
And he called the multitude, and said to them, Hear, and understand:
11 No lo que entra en la boca contamina al hombre; mas lo que sale de la boca, esto contamina al hombre.
Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
12 Entonces llegándose sus discípulos, le dijeron: ¿Sabes que los Fariseos oyendo esta palabra se ofendieron?
Then came his disciples, and said to him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended after they heard this saying?
13 Mas respondiendo él, dijo: Toda planta que no plantó mi Padre celestial será desarraigada.
But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be extirpated.
14 Dejádlos: guias son ciegos de ciegos; y si el ciego guiare al ciego, ambos caerán en el hoyo.
Let them alone: they are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leadeth the blind, both will fall into the ditch.
15 Y respondiendo Pedro, le dijo: Decláranos esta parábola.
Then answered Peter and said to him, Declare to us this parable.
16 Y Jesús dijo: ¿Aun también vosotros sois sin entendimiento?
And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?
17 ¿No entendéis aun, que todo lo que entra en la boca, va al vientre, y es echado en la necesaria?
Do ye not yet understand, that whatever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
18 Mas lo que sale de la boca, del mismo corazón sale, y esto contamina al hombre.
But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
19 Porque del corazón salen los malos pensamientos, muertes, adulterios, fornicaciones, hurtos, falsos testimonios, blasfemias.
For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
20 Estas cosas son las que contaminan al hombre; que comer con las manos por lavar no contamina al hombre.
These are [the things] which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.
21 Y saliendo Jesús de allí, se fue a las partes de Tiro y de Sidón.
Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the territories of Tyre and Sidon.
22 Y, he aquí, una mujer Cananea, que había salido de aquellos términos, clamaba, diciéndole: Señor, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí: mi hija es malamente atormentada del demonio.
And behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same territories, and cried to him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, [thou] son of David; my daughter is grievously afflicted with a demon.
23 Mas él no le respondió palabra. Entonces llegándose sus discípulos, le rogaron, diciendo: Envíala, que da voces tras nosotros.
But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
24 Y él respondiendo, dijo: No soy enviado sino a las ovejas perdidas de la casa de Israel.
But he answered and said, I am not sent but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25 Entonces ella vino, y le adoró, diciendo: Señor, socórreme.
Then came she and worshiped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26 Y respondiendo él, dijo: No es bien tomar el pan de los hijos, y echar lo a los perrillos.
But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast [it] to dogs.
27 Y ella dijo: Así es Señor; pero los perros comen de las migajas que caen de la mesa de sus señores.
And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crums which fall from their master's table.
28 Entonces respondiendo Jesús, dijo: ¡O mujer! grande es tu fe: sea hecho contigo como quieres. Y fue sana su hija desde aquella hora.
Then Jesus answered and said to her, O woman, great [is] thy faith: be it to thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was healed from that very hour.
29 Y partido Jesús de allí, vino junto al mar de Galilea; y subiendo en un monte, se sentó allí.
And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh to the sea of Galilee; and ascended a mountain, and sat down there.
30 Y llegaron a él grandes multitudes, que tenían consigo cojos, ciegos, mudos, mancos, y otros muchos enfermos, y los echaron a los pies de Jesús, y los sanó:
And great multitudes came to him, having with them [those that were] lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them:
31 De tal manera, que las multitudes se maravillaron, viendo hablar los mudos, los mancos sanos, andar los cojos, ver los ciegos; y glorificaron al Dios de Israel.
So that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.
32 Y Jesús llamando a sus discípulos, dijo: Tengo misericordia de la multitud, que ya hace tres días que perseveran conmigo, y no tienen que comer; y enviarlos ayunos no quiero; porque no desmayen en el camino.
Then Jesus called his disciples [to him], and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.
33 Entonces sus discípulos le dicen: ¿Dónde tenemos nosotros tantos panes en el desierto, que hartemos tan gran multitud?
And his disciples say to him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to satisfy so great a multitude?
34 Y Jesús les dice: ¿Cuántos panes tenéis? Y ellos dijeron: Siete, y unos pocos pececillos.
And Jesus saith to them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes.
35 Y mandó a las multitudes que se recostasen en tierra.
And he commanded the multitude to sit on the ground.
36 Y tomando los siete panes y los peces, dando gracias, los rompió, y dio a sus discípulos, y los discípulos a la multitud.
And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and broke [them], and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
37 Y comieron todos, y se hartaron; y alzaron lo que sobró de los pedazos, siete espuertas llenas.
And they all ate and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that were left seven baskets full.
38 Y eran los que habían comido cuatro mil varones, sin las mujeres y los niños.
And they that had eaten were four thousand men, besides women and children.
39 Entonces despedidas las multitudes, subió en una nave, y vino a los términos de Magdala.
And he sent away the multitude, and took a boat, and came into the borders of Magdala.
