San Lucas 7
1 Y como acabó todas sus palabras en oídos del pueblo, entró en Capernaum.
Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
2 Y el siervo de un centurión estaba enfermo y se iba muriendo, al cual él tenía en estima.
And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, was sick, and ready to die.
3 Y como oyó de Jesús, envió a él los ancianos de los Judíos, rogándole que viniese y librase a su siervo.
And when he heard of Jesus, he sent to him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
4 Y viniendo ellos a Jesús, rogáronle con diligencia, diciéndole: Porque es digno de concederle esto:
And when they came to Jesus, they besought him earnestly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
5 Que ama nuestra nación, y él nos edificó una sinagoga.
For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
6 Y Jesús fue con ellos: mas como ya no estuviesen lejos de su casa, envió el centurión amigos a él, diciéndole: Señor, no tomes trabajo, que no soy digno de que entres debajo de mi tejado:
Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying to him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof;
7 Por lo cual ni aun me tuve por digno de venir a ti; mas di tan solo una palabra, y mi criado será sano.
Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come to thee; but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
8 Porque también yo soy hombre puesto en autoridad, que tengo debajo de mí soldados; y digo a éste: Vé, y va; y al otro: Ven, y viene; y a mi siervo: Haz esto, y lo hace.
For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say to one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth [it].
9 Lo cual oyendo Jesús, se maravilló de él, y vuelto, dijo a las multitudes que le seguían: Os digo, que ni aun en Israel, he hallado tanta fe.
When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turned himself about and said to the people that followed him, I say to you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
10 Y vueltos a casa los que habían sido enviados, hallaron sano al siervo que había estado enfermo.
And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant well that had been sick.
11 Y aconteció después, que él iba a la ciudad que se llama Naín, e iban con él muchos de sus discípulos, y gran compañía.
And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain: and many of his disciples went with him, and many people.
12 Y como llegó cerca de la puerta de la ciudad, he aquí, que sacaban un difunto, unigénito de su madre, la cual también era viuda; y había con ella mucha gente de la ciudad.
Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and many people of the city were with her.
13 Y como el Señor la vio, fue movido a misericordia de ella, y le dice: No llores.
And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said to her, Weep not.
14 Y acercándose, tocó las andas; y los que le llevaban, pararon. Y dijo: Mancebo, a ti digo, levántate.
And he came and touched the bier: And they that bore [him] stood still. And he said, Young man, I say to thee, Arise.
15 Entonces, volvióse a sentar el que había sido muerto, y comenzó a hablar; y le dio a su madre.
And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak, and he delivered him to his mother.
16 Y tomó a todos temor, y glorificaban a Dios, diciendo: Que profeta grande se ha levantado entre nosotros; y, que Dios ha visitado a su pueblo.
And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet hath risen among us; and, That God hath visited his people.
17 Y salió esta fama de él por toda Judea, y por toda la tierra del al derredor.
And this rumor of him went forth throughout all Judea, and throughout all the neighboring region.
18 Y dieron las nuevas a Juan de todas estas cosas sus discípulos.
And the disciples of John informed him of all these things.
19 Y llamó Juan unos dos de sus discípulos, y les envió a Jesús, diciendo: ¿Eres tú aquel que había de venir, o esperaremos a otro?
And John calling two of his disciples sent [them] to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
20 Y como los varones vinieron a él, dijeron: Juan el Bautista nos ha enviado a ti, diciendo: ¿Eres tú aquel que había de venir, o esperaremos a otro?
When the men had come to him, they said, John the Baptist hath sent us to thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
21 Y en la misma hora sanó a muchos de enfermedades, y de plagas, y de espíritus malos; y a muchos ciegos dio la vista.
And in that same hour he cured many of [their] infirmities, and diseases, and of evil spirits; and to many [that were] blind he gave sight.
22 Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Id, dad las nuevas a Juan de lo que habéis visto y oído: Que los ciegos ven, los cojos andan, los leprosos son limpiados, los sordos oyen, los muertos resucitan, a los pobres es anunciado el evangelio.
Then Jesus answering, said to them, Go, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; that the blind see, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.
23 Y bienaventurado es el que no fuere escandalizado en mí.
And blessed is [he], to whom I shall not be a stumbling block.
24 Y como se fueron los mensajeros de Juan, comenzó a hablar de Juan a las gentes: ¿Qué salisteis a ver en el desierto? ¿una caña que es agitada del viento?
And when the messengers of John had departed, he began to speak to the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
25 Mas, ¿qué salisteis a ver? ¿un hombre cubierto de vestidos delicados? He aquí, que los que están en vestido precioso, y en delicias, en los palacios de los reyes están.
But what went ye out to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they who are gorgeously appareled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.
26 Mas, ¿qué salisteis a ver? ¿un profeta? De cierto os digo, y aun más que profeta.
But what went ye out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and much more than a prophet.
27 Este es de quien está escrito: He aquí, envío mi ángel delante de tu faz, el cual aparejará tu camino delante de ti.
This is [he], concerning whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee.
28 Porque yo os digo que entre los nacidos de mujeres, no hay mayor profeta que Juan el Bautista; empero el más pequeño en el reino de los cielos es mayor que él.
For I say to you, Among those that are born of women, there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God, is greater than he.
29 Y todo el pueblo oyéndo le, y los publicanos, justificaron a Dios, siendo bautizados con el bautismo de Juan.
And all the people that heard [him], and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.
30 Mas los Fariseos, y los sabios de la ley, desecharon el consejo de Dios contra sí mismos, no siendo bautizados por él.
But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized by him.
31 Y dijo el Señor: ¿A quién pues compararé los hombres de esta generación, y a qué son semejantes?
And the Lord said, To what then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?
32 Semejantes son a los muchachos sentados en la plaza, y que dan voces los unos a los otros, y dicen: Os tañimos con flautas, y no bailasteis; os endechamos, y no llorasteis.
They are like children sitting in the market-place, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped to you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.
33 Porque vino Juan el Bautista que ni comía pan, ni bebía vino, y decís: Demonio tiene.
For John the Baptist came neither eating bread, nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a demon.
34 Vino el Hijo del hombre, que come y bebe, y decís: He aquí, un hombre comilón, y bebedor de vino, amigo de publicanos y de pecadores.
The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold, a gluttonous man, and a wine-bibber, a friend of publicans and sinners.
35 Mas la sabiduría es justificada de todos sus hijos.
But wisdom is justified by all her children.
36 Y le rogó uno de los Fariseos, que comiese con él. Y entrado en casa del Fariseo, se sentó a la mesa.
And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down at table.
37 Y, he aquí, una mujer en la ciudad, que era pecadora, como entendió que estaba a la mesa en casa de aquel Fariseo, trajo un vaso de alabastro de ungüento;
And behold, a woman in the city, who was a sinner, when she knew that [Jesus] sat at table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster-box of ointment,
38 Y estando detrás a sus pies, comenzó llorando a regar con lágrimas sus pies, y los limpiaba con los cabellos de su cabeza; y besaba sus pies, y los ungía con el ungüento.
And stood at his feet behind [him] weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and wiped [them] with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed [them] with the ointment.
39 Y como vio esto el Fariseo que le había llamado, pensó en sí, diciendo: Este, si fuera profeta, conocería quién y cuál es la mujer que le toca; que es pecadora.
Now when the Pharisee who had invited him, saw [it], he spoke within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who, and what manner of woman [this is] that toucheth him, for she is a sinner.
40 Entonces respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Simón, una cosa tengo que decirte. Y él le dice: Dí, Maestro.
And Jesus answering, said to him, Simon, I have somewhat to say to thee. And he saith, Master, speak.
41 Y dice Jesús: Cierto acreedor tenía dos deudores: el uno le debía quinientos denarios, y el otro cincuenta.
There was a certain creditor, who had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.
42 Y no teniendo ellos de qué pagar, soltó la deuda a ambos. Dí, pues, ¿cuál de estos le amará más?
And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?
43 Y respondiendo Simón, dijo: Pienso que aquel al cual soltó más. Y él le dijo: Rectamente has juzgado.
Simon answered and said, I suppose that [he], to whom he forgave most. And he said to him, Thou hast rightly judged.
44 Y vuelto a la mujer, dijo a Simón: ¿Ves esta mujer? Entré en tu casa, no diste agua para mis pies; mas ésta ha regado mis pies con lágrimas, y limpiádo los con los cabellos de su cabeza.
And he turned to the woman, and said to Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thy house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped [them] with the hairs of her head.
45 No me diste beso; mas esta desde que entré, no ha cesado de besar mis pies.
Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman, since the time I came in, hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
46 No ungiste mi cabeza con aceite; mas esta ha ungido con ungüento mis pies.
My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.
47 Por lo cual te digo, que sus muchos pecados son perdonados, porque amó mucho; mas al que se perdona poco, poco ama.
Wherefore I say to thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, [the same] loveth little.
48 Y a ella dijo: Los pecados te son perdonados.
And he said to her, Thy sins are forgiven.
49 Y los que estaban juntamente sentados a la mesa, comenzaron a decir entre sí: ¿Quién es éste, que también perdona pecados?
And they that sat at table with him, began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?
50 Y dijo a la mujer: Tu fe te ha salvado, vé en paz.
And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
