Levítico 11
1 Y habló Jehová a Moisés, y a Aarón, diciéndoles:
Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying to them,
2 Hablád a los hijos de Israel, diciendo: Estos son los animales, que comeréis de todos los animales que están sobre la tierra:
"Speak to the children of Israel, saying, 'These are the living things which you may eat among all the animals that are on the earth.
3 Todo animal de pesuño, y que tiene los pesuños hendidos, y que rumia, de entre los animales, este comeréis.
Whatever parts the hoof, and is cloven-footed, and chews the cud among the animals, that you may eat.
4 Estos empero no comeréis de los que rumian, y de los que tienen pesuño: El camello; porque rumia, mas no tiene pesuño, tenerlo heis por inmundo.
"'Nevertheless these you shall not eat of those that chew the cud, or of those who part the hoof: the camel, because he chews the cud but doesn't have a parted hoof, he is unclean to you.
5 Ítem, el conejo; porque rumia, mas no tiene pesuño, tenerlo heis por inmundo.
The coney, because he chews the cud but doesn't have a parted hoof, he is unclean to you.
6 Ítem, la liebre; porque rumia, mas no tiene pesuño, tenerla heis por inmunda.
The hare, because she chews the cud but doesn't part the hoof, she is unclean to you.
7 También el puerco; porque tiene pesuño, y es de pesuños hendidos, mas no rumia, tenerlo heis por inmundo.
The pig, because he has a split hoof, and is cloven-footed, but doesn't chew the cud, he is unclean to you.
8 De la carne de ellos no comeréis, ni tocaréis su cuerpo muerto, tenerlos heis por inmundos.
Of their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch; they are unclean to you.
9 Esto comeréis de todas las cosas que están en las aguas: Todas las cosas que tienen alas y escamas en las aguas de la mar, y en los ríos, aquellas comeréis.
"'These you may eat of all that are in the waters: whatever has fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, that you may eat.
10 Mas todas las cosas que no tienen alas, ni escamas, en la mar, y en los ríos, así de todo reptil de agua, como de toda cosa viviente que está en las aguas, tenerlas heis en abominación.
All that do not have fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of all the living creatures that are in the waters, they are an abomination to you,
11 Y seros han en abominación: de su carne no comeréis, y sus cuerpos muertos abominaréis.
and you detest them. You shall not eat of their flesh, and you shall detest their carcasses.
12 Todo lo que no tuviere alas y escamas en las aguas tendréis en abominación.
Whatever has no fins nor scales in the waters, that is an abomination to you.
13 Ítem, de las aves, estas tendréis en abominación, no se comerán, abominación serán: El águila, el azor, el esmerejón,
"'These you shall detest among the birds; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the vulture, and the black vulture,
14 El milano, y el buitre según su especie,
and the red kite, any kind of black kite,
15 Todo cuervo según su especie,
any kind of raven,
16 El avestruz, y el mochuelo, y la garceta, y el gavilán según su especie,
the horned owl, the screech owl, and the gull, any kind of hawk,
17 Y el halcón, y la gaviota, y la lechuza,
the little owl, the cormorant, the great owl,
18 Y el calamón, y el cisne, y el pelícano,
the white owl, the desert owl, the osprey,
19 Y la cigüeña, y el cuervo marino, según su especie, y la abubilla, y el murciélago.
the stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe, and the bat.
20 Todo reptil de ave que anduviere sobre cuatro pies tendréis en abominación.
"'All flying insects that walk on all fours are an abomination to you.
21 Empero esto comeréis de todo reptil de aves que anda sobre cuatro pies que tuviere piernas allende de sus pies, para saltar con ellas sobre la tierra.
Yet you may eat these: of all winged crawling creatures that go on all fours, which have legs above their feet, with which to hop on the earth.
22 Estos comeréis de ellos: La langosta según su especie, y el langostín según su especie, y el haregol según su especie, y el hahgab según su especie.
Even of these you may eat: any kind of locust, any kind of katydid, any kind of cricket, and any kind of grasshopper.
23 Todo otro reptil de aves, que tenga cuatro pies, tendréis en abominación.
But all winged crawling creatures which have four feet, are an abomination to you.
24 Y por estas cosas seréis inmundos: Cualquiera que tocare a sus cuerpos muertos, será inmundo hasta la tarde.
"'By these you will become unclean: whoever touches the carcass of them shall be unclean until the evening.
25 Ítem, cualquiera que llevare sus cuerpos muertos, lavará sus vestidos, y será inmundo hasta la tarde.
Whoever carries any part of their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening.
26 Todo animal de pesuño, mas que no tiene el pesuño hendido, ni rumia, tendréis por inmundo: cualquiera que los tocare, será inmundo.
"'Every animal which parts the hoof, and is not cloven-footed, nor chews the cud, is unclean to you. Everyone who touches them shall be unclean.
27 Y cualquiera que anda sobre sus palmas de todos los animales que andan a cuatro pies, tendréis por inmundo: cualquiera que tocare sus cuerpos muertos, será inmundo hasta la tarde.
Whatever goes on its paws, among all animals that go on all fours, they are unclean to you. Whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening.
28 Y el que llevare sus cuerpos muertos, lavará sus vestidos, y será inmundo hasta la tarde: tenerlos heis por inmundos.
He who carries their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. They are unclean to you.
29 Ítem, estos tendréis por inmundos de los reptiles que van arrastrando sobre la tierra: La comadreja, y el ratón, y la rana según su especie,
"'These are they which are unclean to you among the creatures that crawl on the earth: the weasel, the rat, any kind of great lizard,
30 Y el erizo, y el lagarto, y el caracol, y la babosa, y el topo.
the gecko, and the monitor lizard, the wall lizard, the skink, and the chameleon.
31 Estos tendréis por inmundos de todos los reptiles: cualquiera que los tocare, cuando fueren muertos, será inmundo hasta la tarde.
These are they which are unclean to you among all that crawl. Whoever touches them when they are dead, shall be unclean until the evening.
32 Y todo aquello sobre que cayere alguna cosa de ellos después de muertos, será inmundo, así vaso de madera, como vestido, o piel, o saco: cualquiera instrumento con que se hace obra, será metido en agua, y será inmundo hasta la tarde, y así será limpio.
On whatever any of them falls when they are dead, it shall be unclean; whether it is any vessel of wood, or clothing, or skin, or sack, whatever vessel it is, with which any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the evening; then it will be clean.
33 Ítem, todo vaso de barro dentro del cual cayere algo de ellos, todo lo que estuviere en él, será inmundo, y el vaso quebraréis.
Every earthen vessel, into which any of them falls, all that is in it shall be unclean, and you shall break it.
34 Toda vianda que se come, sobre la cual viniere el agua, será inmunda: y toda bebida que se bebiere, en todo vaso será inmunda.
All food which may be eaten, that on which water comes, shall be unclean; and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.
35 Y todo aquello, sobre que cayere algo de su cuerpo muerto, será inmundo. El horno y la chimenea serán derribados: inmundos son, y por inmundos los tendréis.
Everything whereupon part of their carcass falls shall be unclean; whether oven, or range for pots, it shall be broken in pieces: they are unclean, and shall be unclean to you.
36 Empero la fuente, o la cisterna donde se recojen aguas, serán limpias: mas lo que hubiere tocado en sus cuerpos muertos, será inmundo.
Nevertheless a spring or a cistern in which water is a gathered shall be clean: but that which touches their carcass shall be unclean.
37 Ítem, si cayere algo de sus cuerpos muertos sobre alguna simiente sembrada, que estuviere sembrada, será limpia.
If part of their carcass falls on any sowing seed which is to be sown, it is clean.
38 Mas si hubiere puesta agua sobre la simiente, y cayere algo de sus cuerpos muertos sobre ella, tenerla heis por inmunda.
But if water is put on the seed, and part of their carcass falls on it, it is unclean to you.
39 Ítem, si algún animal que tuviereis para comer, se muriere, el que tocare su cuerpo muerto, será inmundo hasta la tarde.
"'If any animal, of which you may eat, dies; he who touches its carcass shall be unclean until the evening.
40 Y el que comiere de su cuerpo muerto, lavará sus vestidos, y será inmundo hasta la tarde: asimismo el que sacare su cuerpo muerto, lavará sus vestidos, y será inmundo hasta la tarde.
He who eats of its carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. He also who carries its carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening.
41 Ítem, todo reptil que va arrastrando sobre la tierra, abominación es, no se comerá.
"'Every swarming thing that swarms on the earth is an abomination. It shall not be eaten.
42 Todo lo que anda sobre el pecho, y todo lo que anda sobre cuatro, o más pies, de todo reptil, que anda arrastrando sobre la tierra, no comeréis, porque son abominación.
Whatever goes on its belly, and whatever goes on all fours, or whatever has many feet, even all creatures that crawl on the earth, them you shall not eat; for they are an abomination.
43 No ensuciéis vuestras almas en ningún reptil, que anda arrastrando, ni os contaminéis en ellos, ni seáis inmundos por ellos.
You shall not make yourselves abominable with any crawling creature that crawls, neither shall you make yourselves unclean with them, that you should be defiled thereby.
44 Porque yo soy Jehová vuestro Dios: por tanto vosotros os santificaréis, y seréis santos, porque yo soy santo: y no ensuciéis vuestras almas en ningún reptil, que anduviere arrastrando sobre la tierra.
For I am Jehovah your God. Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am holy: neither shall you defile yourselves with any kind of crawling creature that moves on the earth.
45 Porque yo soy Jehová, que os hago subir de la tierra de Egipto para seros por Dios. Seréis pues santos, porque yo soy santo.
For I am Jehovah who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
46 Esta es la ley de los animales, y de las aves, y de toda cosa viva, que se mueve en las aguas, y de toda cosa que anda arrastrando sobre la tierra.
"'This is the law of the animal, and of the bird, and of every living creature that moves in the waters, and of every creature that crawls on the earth,
47 Para hacer diferencia entre inmundo y limpio; y entre los animales que se pueden comer, y los animales que no se pueden comer.
to make a distinction between the unclean and the clean, and between the living thing that may be eaten and the living thing that may not be eaten.'"
