Juan 1
1 En el principio ya era el Verbo; y el Verbo era con Dios, y Dios era el Verbo.
In the beginning was that Word, and that Word was with God, and that Word was God.
2 Éste era en el principio con Dios.
This same was in the beginning with God.
3 Todas las cosas por éste fueron hechas; y sin él nada de lo que es hecho, fue hecho.
All things were made by it, and without it was made nothing that was made.
4 En él estaba la vida, y la vida era la luz de los hombres.
In it was life, and that life was the light of men.
5 Y la luz en las tinieblas resplandece; y las tinieblas no la comprendieron.
And that light shineth in the darkenesse, and the darkenesse comprehended it not.
6 Fue un hombre enviado de Dios, el cual se llamaba Juan.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was Iohn.
7 Este vino por testimonio, para que diese testimonio de la Luz, para que por él todos creyesen.
This same came for a witnesse, to beare witnesse of that light, that all men through him might beleeue.
8 El no era la Luz; mas fue enviado para que diese testimonio de la Luz.
He was not that light, but was sent to beare witnesse of that light.
9 Aquella Palabra era la Luz verdadera, que alumbra a todo hombre, que viene en este mundo.
This was that true light, which lighteth euery man that commeth into the world.
10 En el mundo estaba, y el mundo fue hecho por él, y el mundo no le conoció.
He was in the world, and the worlde was made by him: and the worlde knewe him not.
11 A lo suyo vino; y los suyos no le recibieron.
He came vnto his owne, and his owne receiued him not.
12 Mas a todos los que le recibieron, dióles poder de ser hechos hijos de Dios, esto es, a los que creen en su nombre:
But as many as receiued him, to them he gaue prerogatiue to be the sonnes of God, euen to them that beleeue in his Name.
13 Los cuales no son engendrados de sangres, ni de voluntad de la carne, ni de voluntad de hombre, sino de Dios.
Which are borne not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of ye wil of man, but of God.
14 Y el Verbo fue hecho carne, y habitó entre nosotros; y vimos su gloria, gloria como del unigénito del Padre, lleno de gracia y de verdad.
And that Word was made flesh, and dwelt among vs, (and we sawe the glorie thereof, as the glorie of the onely begotten Sonne of the Father) full of grace and trueth.
15 Juan dio testimonio de él, y clamó, diciendo: Este es del que yo decía: El que viene en pos de mí, es mayor que yo; porque es primero que yo.
Iohn bare witnesse of him, and cryed, saying, This was he of whom I said, He that commeth after me, was before me: for he was better then I.
16 Y de su plenitud tomamos todos, y gracia por gracia.
And of his fulnesse haue all we receiued, and grace for grace.
17 Porque la ley por Moisés fue dada; mas la gracia y la verdad por Jesu Cristo vinieron.
For the Lawe was giuen by Moses, but grace, and trueth came by Iesus Christ.
18 A Dios nadie le vio jamás: el unigénito hijo que está en el seno del Padre, él nos le declaró.
No man hath seene God at any time: that onely begotten Sonne, which is in the bosome of the Father, he hath declared him.
19 Y éste es el testimonio de Juan, cuando los Judíos enviaron de Jerusalem sacerdotes y Levitas, que le preguntasen: ¿Tú, quién eres?
Then this is the record of Iohn, when the Iewes sent Priestes and Leuites from Hierusalem, to aske him, Who art thou?
20 Y confesó, y no negó; mas confesó: Yo no soy el Cristo.
And he confessed and denied not, and said plainely, I am not that Christ.
21 Y le preguntaron: ¿Qué pues? ¿Eres tú Elías? Dijo: No soy. ¿Eres tú el profeta? Y respondió: No.
And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he said, I am not. Art thou that Prophet? And he answered, No.
22 Dijéronle pues: ¿Quién eres? para que demos respuesta a los que nos enviaron. ¿Qué dices de ti mismo?
Then said they vnto him, Who art thou, that we may giue an answere to them that sent vs? What sayest thou of thy selfe?
23 Dijo: Yo soy la voz del que clama en el desierto: Enderezád el camino del Señor, como dijo Isaías profeta.
He said, I am the voyce of him that cryeth in the wildernesse, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the Prophet Esaias.
24 Y los que habían sido enviados eran de los Fariseos.
Nowe they which were sent, were of the Pharises.
25 Y preguntáronle, y le dijeron: ¿Por qué pues bautizas, si tú no eres el Cristo, ni Elías, ni el profeta?
And they asked him, and saide vnto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, neither Elias, nor that Prophet?
26 Y Juan les respondió, diciendo: Yo bautizo con agua; mas en medio de vosotros está uno, a quien vosotros no conocéis:
Iohn answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there is one among you, whom ye knowe not.
27 Este es el que ha de venir en pos de mí, el cual es mayor que yo, del cual yo no soy digno de desatar la correa del zapato.
He it is that commeth after me, which was before me, whose shoe latchet I am not worthie to vnloose.
28 Estas cosas fueron hechas en Betabara de la otra parte del Jordán, donde Juan bautizaba.
These things were done in Bethabara beyond Iordan, where Iohn did baptize.
29 El siguiente día ve Juan a Jesús que venía a él, y dice: He aquí el Cordero de Dios, que quita el pecado del mundo.
The next day Iohn, seeth Iesus comming vnto him, and saith, Beholde that Lambe of God, which taketh away the sinne of the world.
30 Este es del que dije: Tras mí viene un varón, el cual es mayor que yo; porque era primero que yo.
This is he of whom I saide, After me commeth a man, which was before me: for he was better then I.
31 Y yo no le conocía; mas para que fuese manifestado a Israel, por eso vine yo bautizando con agua.
And I knewe him not: but because he should be declared to Israel, therefore am I come, baptizing with water.
32 Y Juan dio testimonio, diciendo: Ví al Espíritu que descendía del cielo como paloma, y reposó sobre él.
So Iohn bare recorde, saying, I behelde that Spirit come downe from heauen, like a doue, and it abode vpon him,
33 Y yo no le conocía; mas el que me envió a bautizar con agua, aquel me dijo: Sobre aquel que vieres descender el Espíritu, y que reposa sobre él, éste es el que bautiza con el Espíritu Santo.
And I knewe him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, he saide vnto me, Vpon whom thou shalt see that Spirit come downe, and tary still on him, that is he which baptizeth with the holy Ghost.
34 Y yo ví, y he dado testimonio, que éste es el Hijo de Dios.
And I sawe, and bare record that this is that Sonne of God.
35 El siguiente día otra vez estaba Juan, y dos de sus discípulos.
The next day, Iohn stoode againe, and two of his disciples.
36 Y mirando a Jesús que andaba por allí, dijo: He aquí el Cordero de Dios.
And he behelde Iesus walking by, and said, Beholde that Lambe of God.
37 Y oyéronle los dos discípulos hablar, y siguieron a Jesús.
And the two disciples heard him speake, and followed Iesus.
38 Y volviéndose Jesús, y viéndoles seguirle, díceles: ¿Qué buscáis? Y ellos le dijeron: Rabbi, (que interpretado, quiere decir, Maestro, ) ¿dónde moras?
Then Iesus turned about, and saw them follow, and saide vnto them, What seeke ye? And they saide vnto him, Rabbi (which is to say by interpretation, Master) where dwellest thou?
39 Díceles: Veníd, y ved. Vinieron, y vieron donde moraba; y quedáronse con él aquel día; porque era como la hora décima.
He saide vnto them, Come, and see. They came and sawe where hee dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth houre.
40 Era Andrés, el hermano de Simón Pedro, uno de los dos que habían oído hablar a Juan, y le habían seguido.
Andrew, Simon Peters brother, was one of the two which had heard it of Iohn, and that followed him.
41 Este halló primero a su hermano Simón, y le dijo: Hemos hallado al Mesías, que interpretado es, el Cristo.
The same founde his brother Simon first, and said vnto him, We haue founde that Messias, which is by interpretation, that Christ.
42 Y le trajo a Jesús. Y mirándole Jesús, dijo: Tú eres Simón, hijo de Jonás: tú serás llamado Céfas, que quiere decir, Piedra.
And he brought him to Iesus. And Iesus behelde him, and saide, Thou art Simon the sonne of Iona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, a stone.
43 El día siguiente quiso Jesús ir a Galilea, y halla a Felipe; y le dice: Sígueme.
The day following, Iesus woulde goe into Galile, and founde Philip, and said vnto him, Followe me.
44 Y era Felipe de Betsaida, la ciudad de Andrés y de Pedro.
Nowe Philip was of Bethsaida, the citie of Andrew and Peter.
45 Felipe halló a Natanael, y le dice: Hemos hallado a aquel de quien escribió Moisés en la ley, y los profetas: Jesús de Nazaret, el hijo de José.
Philippe founde Nathanael, and saide vnto him, Wee haue founde him of whom Moses did write in the Lawe, and the Prophetes, Iesus that sonne of Ioseph, that was of Nazareth.
46 Y le dijo Natanael: ¿De Nazaret puede haber algo de bueno? Dícele Felipe: Ven, y ve.
Then Nathanael sayde vnto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saide to him, Come, and see.
47 Jesús vio venir a sí a Natanael, y dijo de él: He aquí un verdaderamente Israelita, en el cual no hay engaño.
Iesus sawe Nathanael comming to him, and saide of him, Beholde in deede an Israelite, in whom is no guile.
48 Dícele Natanael: ¿De dónde me conoces? Respondióle Jesús, y le dijo: Antes que Felipe te llamara, cuando estabas debajo de la higuera, te ví.
Nathanael sayde vnto him, Whence knewest thou mee? Iesus answered, and sayd vnto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast vnder the figge tree, I sawe thee.
49 Respondió Natanael, y le dijo: Rabbi, tú eres el Hijo de Dios; tú eres el Rey de Israel.
Nathanael answered, and saide vnto him, Rabbi, thou art that Sonne of God: thou art that King of Israel.
50 Respondió Jesús, y le dijo: ¿Porque te dije: Víte debajo de la higuera, crees? cosas mayores que estas verás.
Iesus answered, and sayde vnto him, Because I sayde vnto thee, I sawe thee vnder the figtree, beleeuest thou? thou shalt see greater things then these.
51 Y le dice: De cierto, de cierto os digo: De aquí adelante veréis el cielo abierto, y los ángeles de Dios que suben y descienden sobre el Hijo del hombre.
And he saide vnto him, Verely, verely I say vnto you, hereafter shall yee see heauen open, and the Angels of God ascending, and descending vpon that Sonne of man.
