Juan 9
1 Y pasando Jesús, vio a un hombre ciego desde su nacimiento.
And passing by, He saw a man blind from birth,
2 Y preguntáronle sus discípulos, diciendo: ¿Rabbi, quién pecó, éste o sus padres, para que naciese ciego?
and His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this one or his parents, that he should be born blind?”
3 Respondió Jesús: Ni éste pecó, ni sus padres: sino para que las obras de Dios se manifiesten en él.
Jesus answered, “Neither this one sinned nor his parents, but that the works of God may be revealed in him;
4 A mí me conviene obrar las obras de aquel que me envió, entre tanto que el día es: la noche viene, cuando nadie puede obrar.
it is necessary for Me to be working the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; night comes when no one is able to work:
5 Entre tanto que estuviere en el mundo, la luz soy del mundo.
when I am in the world, I AM [the] light of the world.”
6 Esto dicho, escupió en tierra; e hizo lodo de la saliva, y untó con el lodo sobre los ojos del ciego,
Saying these things, He spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and rubbed the clay on the eyes of the blind man, and said to him,
7 Y le dijo: Vé, lávate en el estanque de Siloé, que interpretado, significa Enviado. Se fue pues, y se lavó, y volvió viendo.
“Go away, wash at the pool of Siloam,” which is, interpreted, Sent. He went away, therefore, and washed, and came seeing;
8 Entonces los vecinos, y los que antes le habían visto que era ciego, decían: ¿No es éste el que se sentaba, y mendigaba?
the neighbors, therefore, and those seeing him before, that he was blind, said, “Is this not he who is sitting and begging?”
9 Otros decían: Este es; y otros: Se le parece; mas él decía: Yo soy.
Others said, “This is he”; and others, “He is like to him”; he himself said, “I am [he].”
10 Por esto le decían: ¿Cómo te fueron abiertos los ojos?
They said, therefore, to him, “How were your eyes opened?”
11 Respondió él, y dijo: Aquel hombre que se llama Jesús, hizo lodo, y me untó los ojos, y me dijo: Vé al estanque de Siloé, y lávate; y yo fui, y me lavé, y recibí la vista.
He answered and said, “A man called Jesus made clay, and rubbed my eyes, and said to me, Go away to the pool of Siloam, and wash; and having gone away and having washed, I received sight”;
12 Entonces le dijeron: ¿Dónde está aquel? Dice él: No sé.
they said, therefore, to him, “Where is that One?” He says, “I have not known.”
13 Llévanle a los Fariseos, al que antes había sido ciego.
They bring him who once [was] blind to the Pharisees,
14 Y era sábado cuando Jesús había hecho el lodo, y le había abierto los ojos.
and it was a Sabbath when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
15 Y volviéronle a preguntar también los Fariseos, de qué manera había recibido la vista. El les dijo: Púsome lodo sobre los ojos, y me lavé, y veo.
Again, therefore, the Pharisees also were asking him how he received sight, and he said to them, “He put clay on my eyes, and I washed—and I see.”
16 Entonces unos de los Fariseos le decían: Este hombre no es de Dios, porque no guarda el sábado. Y otros decían: ¿Cómo puede un hombre pecador hacer tales milagros? Y había disensión entre ellos.
Certain of the Pharisees therefore said, “This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath”; others said, “How is a man—a sinful one—able to do such signs?” And there was a division among them.
17 Vuelven a decir al ciego: ¿Tú, qué dices de el que te abrió los ojos? Y él dijo: Que es un profeta.
They said to the blind man again, “You—what do you say of Him—that He opened your eyes?”
18 Mas los Judíos no creían de él, que había sido él ciego, y hubiese recibido la vista, hasta que llamaron a los padres de el que había recibido la vista.
And he said, “He is a prophet.” The Jews, therefore, did not believe concerning him that he was blind and received sight, until they called the parents of him who received sight,
19 Y preguntáronles, diciendo: ¿Es éste vuestro hijo, el que vosotros decís, que nació ciego? ¿Cómo, pues, ve ahora?
and they asked them, saying, “Is [this] your son, of whom you say that he was born blind? How then does he now see?”
20 Respondiéronles sus padres, y dijeron: Sabemos que éste es nuestro hijo, y que nació ciego:
His parents answered them and said, “We have known that this is our son, and that he was born blind;
21 Mas como vea ahora, no lo sabemos; o quien le haya abierto los ojos, nosotros no lo sabemos: él tiene edád, preguntádle a él, él hablará por sí mismo.
and how he now sees, we have not known; or who opened his eyes, we have not known; he is of age, ask him; he himself will speak concerning himself.”
22 Esto dijeron sus padres, porque tenían miedo de los Judíos; porque ya los Judíos habían concluido que si alguno confesase ser él el Mesías, que fuese echado fuera de la sinagoga.
His parents said these things, because they were afraid of the Jews, for the Jews had already agreed together, that if anyone may confess Him—Christ, he may be put out of the synagogue;
23 Por eso dijeron sus padres: Edad tiene, preguntád le a él.
because of this his parents said, “He is of age, ask him.”
24 Así que volvieron a llamar al hombre que había sido ciego, y le dijeron: Da gloria a Dios: nosotros sabemos que este hombre es pecador.
They called, therefore, the man who was blind a second time, and they said to him, “Give glory to God, we have known that this Man is a sinner”;
25 Entonces él respondió, y dijo: Si es pecador o no, yo no lo sé: una cosa sé, que habiendo yo sido ciego, ahora veo.
he answered, therefore, and said, “If He is a sinner—I have not known, one thing I have known, that, being blind, now I see.”
26 Y volviéronle a decir: ¿Qué te hizo? ¿Cómo te abrió los ojos?
And they said to him again, “What did He do to you? How did He open your eyes?”
27 Respondióles: Ya os lo he dicho, y no lo habéis escuchado: ¿por qué lo queréis otra vez oír? ¿Queréis también vosotros haceros sus discípulos?
He answered them, “I told you already, and you did not hear; why do you wish to hear [it] again? Do you also wish to become His disciples?”
28 Entonces le vilipendiaron, y dijeron: Tú eres su discípulo; mas nosotros discípulos de Moisés somos.
They reviled him, therefore, and said, “You are His disciple, and we are Moses’ disciples;
29 Nosotros sabemos que a Moisés habló Dios; mas éste no sabemos de donde es.
we have known that God has spoken to Moses, but this One—we have not known where He is from.”
30 Respondióles el hombre, y les dijo: Cierto maravillosa cosa es esta, que vosotros no sabéis de donde sea, y con todo a mí me abrió los ojos.
The man answered and said to them, “Why, in this is a wonderful thing, that you have not known where He is from, and He opened my eyes!
31 Y sabemos que Dios no oye a los pecadores; mas si alguno es adorador de Dios, y hace su voluntad, a éste oye.
And we have known that God does not hear sinners, but if anyone may be a worshiper of God, and may do His will, He hears him;
32 Desde el principio del mundo no fue oído, que abriese alguno los ojos de uno que nació ciego. (aiōn g165)
from the age it was not heard that anyone opened eyes of one who has been born blind; (aiōn g165)
33 Si este hombre no fuera de Dios, no pudiera hacer nada.
if this One were not from God, He were not able to do anything.”
34 Respondieron y le dijeron: En pecados eres nacido todo; ¿y tú nos enseñas? Y echáronle fuera.
They answered and said to him, “In sins you were born altogether, and you teach us?” And they cast him forth outside.
35 Oyó Jesús que le habían echado fuera; y hallándole, le dijo: ¿Tú crees en el Hijo de Dios?
Jesus heard that they cast him forth outside, and having found him, He said to him, “Do you believe in the Son of God?”
36 Respondió él, y dijo: ¿Quién es, Señor, para que crea en él?
He answered and said, “Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?”
37 Y díjole Jesús: Ya le has visto, y el que habla contigo, él es.
And Jesus said to him, “You have both seen Him, and He who is speaking with you is He”;
38 Y él dijo: Creo, Señor. Y le adoró.
and he said, “I believe, Lord,” and worshiped Him.
39 Y dijo Jesús: Yo, para juicio he venido a este mundo, para que los que no ven, vean; y para que los que ven, sean cegados.
And Jesus said, “I came to this world for judgment, that those not seeing may see, and those seeing may become blind.”
40 Y oyeron esto algunos de los Fariseos que estaban con él, y le dijeron: ¿Somos nosotros también ciegos?
And those of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these things, and they said to Him, “Are we also blind?”
41 Díjoles Jesús: Si fuerais ciegos, no tuvierais pecado; mas ahora decís: Vemos; por tanto vuestro pecado permanece.
Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you were not having had sin, but now you say—We see, therefore your sin remains.”
